I think if I had been driving up towards Salendine Nook I would have had to call in around the Merrie England for a beef and onion sandwich. They are not cheap but they are delicious. Michael knows so many wonderful things about Huddersfield.

He also appreciated the quality of the place and it was always handy when coming off the motorway. You are so right when you say that Michael knows a lot about Huddersfield. When I came here 23 years ago, Michael taught me everything about Huddersfield 's history and he guided me in learning about the town's traditions. I also learnt a lot from you passing on your history and knowledge about the district.
