I believe we are in for a plot twist. Who destroyed the guardian ai, allowing humanity to safely evolve for millions of years in peace? Thargoids have never attacked my ship, only observed and left me in peace. Guardian tech is immediately hostile on every encounter.
@@MATTIUS I would assume that the guardian AI is still out there, and most likely mainly dormant. It makes sense to me that it would have the main force sort of dormant, with a certain amount of scouts out there looking for work to do. I was really hoping that the new expansion would have us interact with a sleeper cell of AI or something.
This was Mic Turner's plan all along. Read the stuff about his disappearance in tourist beacons and the info on Argent Aerodynamic Almagmated Inc. I honestly believe he is actually alive and made contact with the Thargoids. Seriously, look at the missions from First Encounters. All of it is in the game. Which means Meredith Argent made it to Polaris.

Excellent as always. You got me a bit confused at 2:20. You mention that the Alliance was in direct contact with an offshoot of the Guardian race then talk about them as if they are a Thargoid race. Was that just a slip of the tongue or did I miss something? Edit: Palin's Base isn't removed, at least not to my knowledge. There is a beacon directly above it telling you that it got evacuated and you can still fly down and see it. At least last time I checked. Did they finally remove it? The Thargoids that were attacking him, the scouts, are gone now of course and his megaship isn't being attacked anymore. Of course, the Orthus was also removed that was flying away from his base and was later mentioned in one of the live streams that it was never intended to be there in the first place and it was a mistake and has been retconned since. I remember that event vividly. I flew air cover for several folks who went in to check out the base during the attack and who were on the base before it got attacked and needed cover to get out since the scouts would shoot at them. It was good times. Last time I went there, you could still land on the base and everything and go inside but there wasn't anything to see there. It was just a landing pad with nothing on the interaction menu other than to launch back out again.
Ah okay couldn't find it. Went to the coordinates provided and scanned the planet. To me, I couldn't find it. I mention a faction of thargoids known as the Oressrians who are in direct opposition to the klaxxian Thargoids (the ones we see so often)
I side with The Club on this one. If a 2nd faction exists, and it likely does, they do not seem to be open about helping us. We also must view them as a potential enemy, just as much as potential ally. The thargoids only attacking us when carrying guardian tech is not important. Do they reason that it is acceptable for us to go on the offensive when we see them doing the same? They understand enough about our society to attack our stations, and have pilfered through our wrecks. They do not make attempts to communicate. The Club are doing what they can to protect humanity, and could very well end up being the agency that saves us.

Are the oresrians still unconfirmed in canon? Someone was telling me they are ONLY from the dark wheel novel alone which isn't confirmed canon. Theres more to them then just a mention in the DW novel yeah?
