10:30 Front Step delivery-- I use to block deliveries on my ramp. I would place a wooden work horse in front of the ramp with a sign hanging on it. You could probably print up a nice BIG sign. Something like: Please use garage overhead door for deliveries.
I have found the plastic posts on the upper part of the housing will split if you do not align the screws exactly right (cross threading) when you put it back together. The displays on two of my old hand controller display cracked for no reason. The new ones have not. Have a good Holiday, and stay safe.

I also look forward to those sun shades for the ICS boxes being available for purchase soon - those lights are so bright they're migraine-inducing and I would love to not have to deal with that, among other reasons why a dimmed light would be preferable! :) I'm so glad I found this channel!!

Just have to paint the Echo Flex black now. Spray on vinyl dye works really well. I thought of doing something with a spare Echo Dot I have. They don't appear to sell the flex in Australia.
I really enjoy your videos so, keep them coming! A "tinted" cover for the green lights is badly needed. It's among a few complaints I have with my new F3. I'm working with Permobil to address a few issues like the brightness as well as an issue with the new light kit. The headlights turn off if you use the signals or hazards. That's extremely unsafe and well, just stupid. You might also think about selling screen protectors (like what people use on phones). Doing these greatly prolongs the length of time the joystick display will remain readable.
Do you know where I can get a membrane switch replacement for a Permobile F3? I’ve tried the Permobile Canada website and they want to replace the entire unite and do a service call which starts at 150 bucks plus time and minimum hour charge.
haven't had any luck locating parts like that in north America.. overseas apparently some joystick parts are available.. but looks like we're stuck getting "all new" parts here.. did the rubber tear? or are they just not working very well? they can be cleaned if its the latter :^)
@@TotallyNormal- yeah the rubber torn now one of the button keeps falling out whenever I use it and I have to be really careful not to lose it or I’ll end up having to use the joystick control to adjust the chair in future. I only have the one chair only been paralyzed since 2015 and they just cut off me LOng Term Disability so I don’t have the money to spend on repairs.
its a glitch that happens sometimes... staying on 2-3 times per month is 'normal' but if its WAY more than that, theres a firmware board inside the ICS module that is faulty
hey man first off happy holidays! You mentioned a horn about three videos back. I believe a fork lift horn. Can you maybe do a video on that? And i have a idea. I know you went through all that hacking, but wouldn't it be easier to use a alexa auto on a wheelchair? Like all around easier?
excuse me sir,, can i ask something, i have problem with rubber keypad joystick is the rubber button is torn inside, when im push the button on/off they not want start on and the rubber not pop up,, my type joystik is PG VR2,, can you help me sir,, cz this is my feet to mobility, i hope u can help me thank you
i'd search around on google.. that joystick is old enough now that the membrane switches / rubber covers are for sale on aliexpress, and other random websites....
@@TotallyNormal- yes indeed sir, im find in aliexpress but there is included 1 joystik n onether membran keypad but not match n diferrent type,, i got in turk website and britain the part but so expensive,, ok sir thank for the info,
Seriously why don’t they just make the switch boxes metal? Is that something John or one of your friends would have the machinery to make? By the way the mounting hardware for the joystick is different on my new chair. It doesn’t look as durable I’m a little nervous.
that reminds me - i need to take apart one of the swing-sways and show how they work! but ya - the newer ones are a LOT thinner... but i don't think it necessarily results in less durability (assuming they're designed with the same internal components).. BUT i still have yet to take apart one of the new style ones...
By the way you can totally power an Echo Dot off of the USB stock charger. I had a client at work who is paralyzed that I programmed it to open his door opener using his phone as a hotspot. It was pretty sweet!

I need a faceplate for my ctrl 5 box. The glue unsticks and it's like 600.00 for a new one.

ya its a lot smaller etc.. but i want something that supports wifi and doesn't need a phone linked via bluetooth at all times to work :^)
The design is faulty and a known issue when you fold the joystick all the back on either side it hits the armrest

@@benjaminwimett3169 I have an old 2cnd Gen, Echo Dot, mounted to my power wheelchair, runs on a 20000mah Battery.
@@benjaminwimett3169 my wifi reaches outside and halfway up the street so using that with a Dot is no problem.
