Buro is like a condiment..you put a little bit of it on fried fish...its made with steamed rice, a little bit of water, salt and raw slices of fish stored in fridge or clay pots
Wow, nice that you met one of subscriber and the guide you to visit some places in Pampanga,,I admire our brethen kapampangan for their very unique way of cooking. Food they cook are very delicious😊😊
This is what I like when doing food vlogs esp. going to other cities and countryside. You go to a local restaurant not by your own to try and miss but with locals who explained to you about their specialty. These guys know their food and how it’s done. I hope you will also do the same in your next tour. It’s better to have locals as guide for the best place to eat and introduce local specialties.
Last time I visited the Lakeshore Village was in a wedding of friends in the small man-made islet in the middle of the man-made lake. One of principal sponsors was the late Angelo Reyes (DENR Secretary at that time). The price of the properties is upscale, hence the large vacant lots after around 20 years since it opened.
Mr. Marshall Butters, Kapampangan cuisine is arguably the most adventurous among the different cuisines in the country. Kapampangans have a penchant for making dishes even more delectable. Speaking of adventure, there's a news that came out today announcing the possibility of not requiring the wearing of face masks starting in June of this year. Of course, we should welcome this development with guarded optimism as the Covid is highly unpredictable. Have a safe travel back to Manila.
You got it!!! Cheesey flavor for buro as both are fermented and loaded with amino acids…. This was Filipino early man’s probiotic source( Magellan was served this using pork) for gut health paralleled to lactobacillus of yoghurt in dairy cultures. Buro like durian and stinky cheese are acquired tastes… on your next sampling it will be better…. Buro though is not unique to Pampanga and the Philippines… All South Asian tribal people from Japan, Korea , Taiwan to Southeastvasia have versions of this… you will love this on your next try…
Great video mate. Enjoying your food vlogs these days. I absolutely love the Philippines but I must say apart from chicken adobo I really don’t like the local food
Yes, that's a nice gated community for the Filipino upper class. Great Pampanga dishes at Lolaima; i havent' had carabao meat and would like to try that! I would guess that it would taste like beef. I think i'll try cooking duck adobo next time! Joewel & Jeff seems very knowledgeable with Kapangpangan dishes. Congrats on 30K; here comes 40K! Stay safe, Marshall!
Just take off ur Mask Marshall you’ll be fine..don’t worry about those Comments on people telling u to wear ur Mask..Live Life and be happy just enjoy ur journey.
fermented rice, not for the faint of heart... dont get me wrong! tried in restos and several friends place.... tried to aquire the taste for it, but just not my cup of tea.
I love buro. It's the Filipino samgyupsal. You have your mustard leaves, a piece of fish, another piece of vegetable, finally a tsp of buro then put sinigang soup on your rice, roll it.... flavor explosion! I don't know how they cooked it, but my buro is of the champions. The guy actually described it perfectly. A bit salty and sour and a bit oily. Is that the way it tasted to you? No chili in there so should not have any hint of spiciness.
@@ranma9823 yeah you're right. I generalized it too much. For Filipinos, the whole grilling the food in front while dinjng and wrapping 'em up, we've conveniently pertained to it as Samgyupsal regardless of what your grilling (pork, beef, chicken or seafood or veggies)
Shout out to jeff! 😂 Such a nice guy.
Thank you very very much Joel and Jeff. ❤- from Cabiao, N.E. here.
glad the kapampangans speak tagalog
Wow
Your kapampangan friends were generous to take time out to drive you around and treat you…I’m sure the dishes were flavorful!😁
Nice to have your subscribers show you around and suggesting some local dishes. Thanks for the video. Have a safe trip back to Manila.
Marshall 🇵🇭💪🏻❤️
Keep safe

Thanks Roy.
You left Baguio, you missed the Panagbenga Festival
Unfortunately so my friend.
I know you're a big fan of chicken adobo sir. So how do you find duck adobo and which would you prefer?
Both are great in their own way.

That would be incorrect. Samgyeopsal means "pork belly". I think what you're talking about is closer to the Korean "ssam".
I described it as a bit cheesy.

@@marshallbuttersvlogs6880 I misheard you then. Thought I heard you say "chili taste"
Imagine if you're going through something and you just suddenly hear background music in real life, like the one here. 😆
Yes, it's weird. It created a kind of melancholic atmosphere in an otherwise uplifting place.
another vlog
You know it!
🙀
Looks like dinner, not breakfast.
It was lunch
No one within 150m - may as well be 1.5 km, that won't stop the virtue signallers condemning you.
Marshall ban the mask police for a day or 2 🙃🙂 and unban.
I can eat everything except the buro rice 🍚 it taste like spoil food.i don’t like it sorry 😢
