Ted Danson is one of the most prolific television stars of all time. He got his first big break playing the lead character Sam Malone on the hit NBC sitcom Cheers. He later played Jack Holden in the comedy films Three Men and A Baby and Three Men and a Little Lady.
Danson also played Dr. John Becker on the CBS sitcom Becker which ran from 1998 to 2004. He then starred in another CBS offering, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, as D.B. Russell. You might have also recognized him from his roles in shows such as HBO's Larry David vehicle Curb Your Enthusiasm and FX's Fargo.
Arguably, Danson's most underrated role was playing the afterlife architect Michael in the NBC off-beat sitcom The Good Place, which ran from 2016 to 2020. Today, he's portraying the character Neil Bremer, in NBC's Mr. Mayor.
It's hard to believe that Danson's career almost came close to crashing to a halt because of a short-lived affair that he got involved in during the 90's. But even though his career was able to recover from that little hiccup, it still ended up costing him his marriage and nearly $30 million dollars. Not only that, but his reputation took a major hit as well.

Whoopee is such a mean-spirited person. For her to cheat with
another woman’s husband’s, and a disabled one at that, is so hypocritical (and not unexpected). Danson is no prize either.
Same thing happened to Sharron stone. Her husband left her for another women when she had a stroke and took her kids, while she was at her most vulnerable. Never underestimate how cruel narcissists are to their spouses when they do the big discard.

I agree with Patricia, we cannot put that on Whoopie that was Ted’s already failed marriage. But that does not excuse her wrong doing. The better way to have stated that was that you were disappointed in Ted for being such a bum to his wife who was also disabled and Whoopi was no prize either. In the scenario you stated Whoopi was the emphasis when it was not her marriage to begin with. But I DO agree with the fact they both did a bad thing in being dishonest since he was married. Both of them morally wrong, Ted morally and legally wrong.

Don't forget Ted was in the 1982 thriller horror movie Creepshow! That was actually my favorite performance by him! It was a genuine performance that made you feel like he was actually living that characters life! Love Ted Danson. I could not understand the attraction between he and Whoopi. He is much too polished for her. He is a fabulous actor. He was the best in Becker! He went to a pancake fundraiser for kids in one episode. It was hilarious! As he ages he still very handsome. Mary looks good too. Anything he does is good for me. Now He is involved with Larry. I remember when he did black face. It was pretty bad it was with Whoopi at a roast. They did forgive him and he went on he never did anything that horrible again. Now a days they wouldn't have forgiven him he would have been cancelled and would have never realized what a stupid disgusting thing he did. That being said I don't understand how people thought the black face was so understandingly horrible and yet no one walked away from the roast that was done for Bob Saget joking about child rape. Can someone please explain this to me?
Ted Danson was great comic relief in the 1981 movie Body Heat, playing a dancing prosecuting attorney who had to send his buddy Ned Racine away for life. It was a quirky role and lifted the tension of the film. I also enjoyed his role in Curb Your Enthusiasm.
When I watched that film in high school, I didn't realize that he was in it. It was one of his first roles I believe. George Lucas worked on it and said his soul is in the cutting room floor of it.
My favorite Ted Danson movie and performance is Body Heat (1981) with Kathleen Turner and William Hurt.
BTW: Danson and I also share a birthday - him 12/29/47, me 12/29/59.
