The Kelce fumble, the O Line letting the pocket collapse, and the way the defense played (horribly), was the difference makers in this game. Definitely need to reassess and come back better for next week and get ready for the post season. 👍🏼
Some of the pocket collapsing was coverage. Even with just 3 rushing, if they create havoc with a spy or a good rush, that will collapse a pocket. You don’t have to even break through if you can create havoc with the 3 rushers by just moving the picket slightly.

They do it by scheme more than raw talent, which is hard to do. Bengals do not have an elite cover DB really. But they play solid team defense. They do have 2 pretty good pass rushers in Hendrickson and Hubbard and a pretty good tackle in Reader.

His super power is his mind. He’s ahead of everyone I’ve watched. Even when I watch other qbs I think man Burrow makes that throw easily. He’d never miss that throw. Even when I watched Allen I was not impressed. Well until he made that last throw on thanksgiving. Burrow wouldn’t have been able to make “that” throw but I’m confident in his ability to find another one that he could make. But since his edge is mental and not physical in theory Mahomes and Allen “could”. Catch up to him over time…. But that takes a lot of work. It requires them to do more than thet have done up to this point. It’s also human nature. To home the skills that your good at. Mahomed and Allen’s ability is somewhat like a crutch. They aren’t forced to revolve when they can make any throw needed. Joe has evolved and is still evolving mentally. I’m just glad I have one of the three as my qb. Oh and let’s stop trying to compare Herbert to Burrow. It’s not even close.
Brady can make most throws, but he uses his brain not just his brawn. Why make a hard throw if the easier throw is there. You can play to your strengths and limit your weaknesses that way even.

I don't get why so many comments suggest Burrow is overhyped. He has to be the easiest QB to pay since Stafford in Detroit. You can see exactly what you're gonna get, and no one will fault you.

I mean we have to admit the Bengals had a lot of help from the refs last year. Like against the Raiders for example, or the 10 ticky tack penalties from last year's regular season game against the Chiefs.
Yesterday, Karloftis was flagged for roughing the passer even though it was a perfectly legal sack yet Juju gets hit in the head and no unnecessary roughness call, Joe Burrows pick was wiped away by a bad penalty, the phantom PI on the Chiefs yet Chase and Higgins routinely blatantly push off for seperation but never called for OPI. These are penalties that extended drives and give the Bengals points.
With that said yes the Chiefs have to play better. Two things can be true the Bengals did outplay the Chiefs but you've gotta admit they've been the beneficiaries of a lot bogus calls.

The biggest problem with the Chiefs is their defense... whether it be personnel or scheme... they are soft. Our offense always has to be running top notch, because you can't depend on the defense to ever bail them out. It's pathetic.
Spags is great, but we need better. We have so much potential with most of our guys but it’s mainly our Third Level that’s always had issues. Our 1st and 2nd level are Top 5. The CB’s/Safteys besides Sneed and Thornhill are getting TORCHED every play. Sneed locked down Chase but Chase ate willams and Reid up.

@@KevonDaDon They can pay all of them. Chase isn't extension eligible till after the 2024 season. They have the money to do it and then some. Just actually pay attention for once. Contracts are not as hard to get done as you think. It what goes against the cap that matters. That's why the guaranteed money will be a lot higher than what the Bengals normally do. Burrow is getting 30+ mil a year annual avg. His cap hit will be 25 or lower. Higgins will get 20+ mil annual avg but only 13-15 against the cap. Do you understand?? Other contracts will expire during this time as well. They don't have to sign all of them at once. They will structure things so they can pay the guy's they need to when their time comes.

No doubt. Mahomes is by far the most exciting, electric, raw-skilled QB I've ever seen. PM15 the man is well on his way to becoming an all-time great. However, I'm happy my Bengals are peaking at the right time. We took care of business the right way.

Shannon is wrong about the Bengals not paying. What great player did they not sign to a 2nd contract? Whitworth, AJ Green, Dalton, Palmer, Ocho, Houshmandzadeh, Geno Atkins, Carlos Dunlap, Corey Dillon all got paid 2nd contracts. They're cheap about facilities, etc., but they've always paid their great players at least once.

This is the first time outta the three games I felt like the better team won. Credit to Cincy for getting it done. I’m with Shannon, you still gotta take Mahomes. Again the Chiefs has this game and choked it away. Even the commentators said it, the Chiefs came back on Cincy and were driving with a 4 point lead until Kelce fumbled. That flipped the momentum. The only negative Mahomes had was the 3rd down play in the fourth when he took a sack rather than the dump off to McKinnon for at least 4 yards if not a first down. And yeah, Andy should of known even if Butker makes that kick, it only makes it a tie game with 3:30 left. You gotta go for it. Hopefully they learn from this.
They only "had" the game during that short time they were leading. Bengals led most of the game. Basically, we beat up on them, and they were only close bc of a few mishaps the bengals had.

If Mahomes got to play against the Chiefs defense, he'd drop 40+ on them. You can't look at head to head record to say one QB is better than another. Burrow is great. If you want to talk the Boyd drop, also talk about the Burrow interception that got called back on a ticky-tack DPI that the ref didn't flag until after the Chiefs were going the other way with the ball.
