Love your videos, so helpful. I'm still debating on the which system to get. I mainly use Q-Snaps and I have butter fingers. So don't know if I would be happy with having to jiggle here and there with the Q-Snap holder.
Great stand! Would the stand work if you put the q snap vertically vs horizontally in the video. Also would it work if you put a q snap sized 11x17 inserted vertically.
The "arms" of the Q-snap head will expand to hold a Q-snap sized 8" to 17" inches. You may not be able to rotate it all the way around depending on what size Q-snap you use, but you can still get to the back side. Hope that helps.
Hey Lori! I'm still searching for the perfect lap stand to use with my smaller Qsnaps. I keep coming back to this video of yours and have a question regarding the functionality of the "heads" for this system. I only want to buy one head (budget constraints). Most of my lap stitching is on 6" - 8" as high as 11" Qsnaps, but I also sometimes use the rollaframe scroll frames for smaller projects as well. Is there one "head" you would recommend over the other for my needs? I was thinking the single clamp would be the most versatile, but would it hold my Qsnaps adequately? My concern with the head designed specifically for qsnaps is that it won't accommodate my small 6" & 8" qsnap frames. Any insight you might give is much appreciated. xoxo - Jen
Hi! There are scroll rod head attachments that can be purchased separately. There are 3 different sizes. The unit in the video is for Q-snaps and will not hold scroll rods. This is because the clamps on the side are designed to hold a round Q-snap and not a square spacer bar. Hope that helps! Happy stitching.
I'm afraid I'm not going to be much help, Mae. I have never seen the scroll frame head live. I would assume that it would be similar to the Q-Snap head in that you just spread the "arms" wider to accommodate the different sized scroll bars. I know that the scroll bars are proprietary so you can't easily use just any scroll bars. Just a thought - are you sure you have the scroll rod frame and not the belt scroll frame? Do a image search and see if that helps.
Hi Sandy! I had no problems searching on Amazon for the light. What shocked me was that the price has almost doubled! I then checked IKEA's website and it looks like they're discontinuing the light. Good news is that there are other clip on LED lights. I just typed " jansjo ikea clip on light " without the quote marks. There were a few. Be aware that some were USB and some had a wall plug. Happy stitching!
Thank you for this. I have a systen 4 and I do not really use it a lot. For some reason I have not been able to find a comfortable way to use it. But I am not giving up! So you really put that plate in your lap? Hmmmm
Yup! I use it at the table and also on my lap when I sit on the couch. I did have to make a few adjustments to get the angle just right. I have not tried to use my Q-Snap attachment on my lap, yet, just the clamp attachment with my hoops.
why is it so expensive also since you use the qsnaps so long how do you tighten the clamps when they loosen to much. i heard you can boil or wash or something. the felt helps but the clamps have gotten out of shape
You can put your Q-Snaps in the dishwasher on the top rack. Put a rubber band around the "clampy" part and wash with your dishes. Personally, I've never tried it, but my invisible friend Gay has and it worked well.
My NS4 must be an older model. It has a similar design but is quite heavy. My problem is that I don’t remember how to attach the pattern holder. Would you have directions for attaching it? Thank you.
Hey, Barb! I have never seen the pattern holder first hand. I did a bit of research and found a web site that says, "Light/Magnifier Holder attaches to the upright post of the floor stand or Travel Mate floor stand. It does NOT attach to the lap/table stand or table clamp. www.threadneedlestreet (dot) com/accessories.htm - I'm not sure if that's helpful at all. Sorry.
Thank you, Lori. I found the pattern holder in an online catalogue from Stitchers Paradise. The illustration reminded me of how to attach it. This is a well designed system that I’ve had over 10 years! I’m just getting back into cross stitching!😊
If you go on ebay you can see prices which are slightly higher than a LNS. If you google it, you'll find a handful of LNSs which list prices. You're LNS should be able to quote you an amount without you making any commitment to purchase. I can't give you a price because there are 4 different heads and 4 different bases - that's 16 combinations. :D
Lovely! I too am a big supporter of NS4 and have owned them (both floor stand and lap/table stand) for 10 years. Very lovely review!
Thank you, Vonna. I'm glad I made the investment. I love the fact that you can stash it all away in a flash. Happy stitching!
Hi Lori. Thanks for sharing your stand. I have never seen one of these and really appreciate your taking the time to make the video!
You're welcome. It is a lovely, well made stand. If you're in the market for one, I'd highly recommend it. [PS: I like your videos.]
thanks for taking the time to show the stand, looks really handy :)
Thank you for your feedback. I will check about the scroll bar.
Thanks for the review. This may be my next big purchase.

Loved your review! Thank you!
Great review.
Ah, intresting! Posilock stands work with the same interlocking teeth system, except they are plastic.

Will this tabletop system work with scroll rods? Thank you!

Nice what about price
Can you use a Morgan Embroidery Hoop with the Frame Clamp?
Yes, any hoop will work with the frame clamp. I use my hoop all of the time.
I just purchased my system and am using the scroll frame. Please tell me how you expanded the frame area to accommodate different sizes. Thanks.

I did a little further research. I believe I was wrong on the scroll bars. His web site says, "will also accommodate most dowels on the market."
Hi Lori Great review, off to watch your update video now.Take careHugsAmanda in the UKxxxx
Can you add the link for the light you are showing that is on Amazon please?

@@OrganicGranny thank you so much for the reply. I’ll find something! Thanks for the lead though! Much appreciated

I know how you know it will snap the clamp ;)
Hurt my feelings, too, when I did it. :D
