When you were in Santa Claus, you were about five miles from Lincoln's Boyhood Home National Historic Site . It is part of the National Parks system so I guess no filming. Holiday World is an amazing park. Safe Travels.
Mike are you kidding me. 😮 Heather that is the coolest pen ever and I always get one when I see them. Back in my day that was like the iphone of pens the latest and greatest technology. 7 colors of ink in one pen. Wowza. 😂 Also I know y'all are farther in the future than this video. Not sure if AutoZone does it but you can ask. I don't know if you have an advanced Auto Parts store ask for a diagnostic reading. It'll tell you what the problem is. State 48 is AZ, just saying. I don't tend to go to Santa Claus world so traveling with Heather may be challenging, LoL. If you pull out a fuse please check to see if it's blown (not making a connection) generally you can look at it in bright light or put a continuity tester on it. The place you buy the new fuse will check it for free. btw it was the fan motor, heat is mechanical off the engine. The RV capital was cool. Watching your video reminded me of why I moved to AZ. It's been unseasonably cool lately and too cold to sit outside in 70° weather. I'm glad you rethought filming in the National Park system. I can teach you some drone work-arounds..... Safe Travels Guys!

We are doing our Alaska road trip in 2024 to celebrate our 30th anniversary and to finish off the last state we need to see. We converted a 2021 Sprinter as a combined project with our youngest daughter and husband. We are currently on your east coast trip and we now want to do the same thing. Great video (as always)! sorry for the late viewing, I've been busy...... Hopefully you got the heater permanently fixed! I have really enjoyed all of you National Park videos in the past and have always been impressed with how well organised they are, the two of you have always showcased them so well (as I am sure others do). So I personally think the parks should consider the restriction on filming to be a real shoot yourself in the foot moment..... I'm sure it will all come out in the wash though. Not sure what is considered to be the start of RV history, but I guess it would be when people used them for recreation rather than for just living in but caravans and "mobile homes" date back way before the Model T.... beautiful painted wooden mini homes on wheels can be seen in museums over here dating back much further, some restored ones are even still in use today. As for the RV hall of fame exhibits, maybe they should be eyeing up your van as and when you move on to bigger van! Ok it would be one of the smaller exhibits i'm sure but an important one none the less! After all you are a go to source of information on US van life for many of us now.

As a german Transit Connect Owner i get a heard attack every time you use the petrol tap at the filling station. In Europe the Transit Connect is only with Diesel Engine available. If the froozen Motor is not the problem, in Europe is often the switch (to choose the speed) the problem.
As a Ford Transit Connect owner, I can tell you by experience that there was a Ford service bulletin regarding the heater motor freezing up due to water leaking into the heater box. It is fairly easy to fix by getting access to the cabin air filter housing and sealing it up with caulking.
So, I'm guessing that by now, you may have already visited my home state or Michigan....I would have loved to meet up with you and show you around Southwest Michigan sights...

How exciting! We loved visiting Katmai National Park as well, it is still one of our favorite travel experiences! We hope you had a fantastic time in Alaska :) You are right, unfortunately we had to leave Appa behind. We did look into shipping our van to Hawaii but the cost was around $5,000 which was more than we spent for our entire Hawaii trip! We also tried to rent another Ford Transit Connect Camper van but the van was not available for the week we were planning on visiting. Instead we got to live out our van life dreams in a Volkswagen Vanagon! Spoiler alert: we did finish visiting all 50 states! We are currently home working to build back up our savings and planning for our next adventure. Thank you for the well wishes and for watching, we really do appreciate it and you both!
Hi there Mike and Heather! I love your channel! You have given me several "must dos" on my future travel plans. I love that you show the different "things to do" in each state. I have a question for you, in an older video Mike mentioned that you chose the 2013 connect because the older ones have the higher head room in the back. Do you know what year that changed? Is 2013 the last year for the taller interior?

The taller interior models are from 2010 to 2013. 2014 and beyond is when the back area is shorter in height but longer in length. We needed the higher roof for Mike's height but it is all personal preference 😊 Hope that helps!
