Great tips, I want to do everything haha I can not stop myself, jumping from one idea to another… and that brings me to learn new skills😃 Have a nice trip, enjoy your trip to london🌸👋🏻
Watching this video for the second time. I really like minimalist jewellery with some bold and feminine pieces ( ie. medium chunky chains). Is okay to mix 2 styles ?
There can be sometimes. You need to check for it. I usually start with a 600 grit sandpaper then work up if I want a polished finish. But that also depends on how happy you were with the wax finish.
Hi jeweler for 20+ years I enjoy your journey I would offer a little advice Be true to your own art make what brings you joy and happiness Not necessarily what is trending when I first started I worked at (mom and pop) had old magazines that they kept and we would look at 3-4 year old adds and see what would be the next hot thing for the holiday funny but it would take that long for people to start looking for it and when I worked in manufacturing there was stuff that they made from 30 years ago remember the overnight success took 20+years of hard work and don't forget the little things that are ez that keep the lights on (can you use that little heat for something) and one last thing have some fun get out talk with people make new friends and enjoy life otherwise what is all that work for?
Yes for sure, totally agree that first and foremost it must be something that you enjoy doing! 😉 Trends come and go but if you can combine a longest standing niche idea with something that you are passionate about then this can work very well.
Hiya Megan, Taking time off? What? Have you earned the right to have time to yourself? Okay, yes you have, more than... Another very good video, thank you, again for helping us in our route to be a full-time professional jeweller. None of it is easy, as you say it is a process, moving from one state to another on our journey. I can see that we may have to end up with more than one sales set-up. That is if we want to create more than one style of work. As you say we can't put minimalist organic next to industrial, so we may have the need for more than one sales outlet, each showing its own style. As you say putting both of those styles together just would not work, hence the possible need to split off. Have a good time re-living your past, don't stay too sober, all girls together can be??? Stay safe, Steve...
Hi Steve, yes that's a good option if you really have 2 or more very different styles of jewellery. This can also allow you to have different price points to reach a wider audience. And yes I'm having a lovely time away. It's not been particularly relaxing, but so good to see old friends again 🤗 Hope you are doing well. Best wishes, Megan

I hear you! As long as it all still works together and looks like it comes from the same designer it works too 😉 And thank you! It's been great!

Enjoy hearing the news. Cheers Megan. Collecting tools still here.
Fab! So glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for your vidéo, you are helping me returning to the roots of my desire for creating jewelry!
So happy to hear that! 🤗
Is there any firescale on the jewellery after casting it? Do you sand or only polish the silver piece directly after casting?

Learning so much from you, thank you 🥰
I'm so glad! 🤗

What category does handmade beaded jewelry fall in?
I'd say it's most likely fashion jewellery. But it depends on the beads and the price point.
@@megan.collins even if its assorted beads, spacer beads, pearls, crystals, etc?
difficult to say without seeing it but really depends on price and branding.
So helpful. My brain is exploding 🤯🤪
You're so welcome Heather! Don't rush it, but it's really important!!
