“Whatever you’re worried about right now, you probably won’t think about it in a month from now, or maybe even a week from now. So take a deep breath and relax. All is well.” ✨
Worth mentioning because I've experienced it countless times. Sometimes after you get out of sleep paralysis, you're still feeling sleepy enough to stay in the same position and close your eyes to go back to sleep... You might end up in sleep paralysis AGAIN if you do that! Best thing to do in that situation is to fully wake up (get up to get some water or something) and then go back to sleep.
when i get them i get multiple times. when i wake up middle of the night to use the bathroom and if i don.t fall back to sleep in 5mins i,ll get sleep paralysis when i try to fall back to sleep. and if that happens to me. i get signs to when im about to get one. it starts with a ringing sound in my head. what i do is i just get back up and walk around for few mins then sit down on my bed for 15 mins then go back to bed and i,ll fall back to sleep with no sleep paralysis and i get a good night sleep. and yeah when i do get of sleep paralsis i,ll feel to sleepy to get back up and close my eye again and then im in sleep paralysis telling my self why did i just not get up. i got saved in sleep parralysis twice in my life. the 1st was from my friends dog. the dog jumped on me and i got out of sleep paralsis right away. and the 2nd time was in my room when i woke up to go bathroom. did not fall sleep in 5mins and when i tryed to fall back to sleep. sleep paralysis again. and while i was in it. my phone was in my pucket and my phone was on vibrate. my friends text me and the phone vibrated and woke me up out of sleep paralysis.
I had sleep paralysis twice last night both right after each other. I've never had sleep paralysis prior to last night so it was very bizarre and scary, but I was able to convince myself that it was all just in my head because luckily I've already learned about sleep paralysis years ago. Despite knowing that what I was hallucinating about wasn't real I still felt an extreme amount of stress.
This literally just happened to me and has happened a few times in the past. I have had SPD for 30 years now. It had diminished for some years, then my son was murdered and it came back. Stress is a major cause, and while it's been 6 years since his death, I still get attacks at least once a month, sometimes more. Sometimes, I go a month or 2 without an attack. There is no predicting it. Used I couldn't even make a sound during an attack. Now I'm able to moan, and my husband will wake me up. But tonight, he woke me up, and I fell right back to sleep and into paralysis. This time, I could mumble words and ask him to help me sit up. So he did, and I got up and took my PTSD sleeping medicine. It prevents dreaming. I'm going back to taking it every night now. Since the attacks have been more frequent. I know my insomnia makes it worse, but the insomnia is caused by the fear of having an attack. It's a catch 22 with disorder. I have tried giving in, and it only makes my panic worse. My sleep demon is just a dark figure or feeling the presence in the room. Tonight it was a dream and I was actually out of the bed, walked to the kitchen because a light came on and there were 2 beings around the corner of my fridge and I was telling them to get out of my house. That's what my husband heard, but it was just moaning to him. And it doesn't matter what position I sleep in now. It happens anyway if it's going to. I wish ot would stop all together. But I have lived with it for so long I just deal. I'm seeing psychiatrist and have been on Valium for a while to help me sleep, but another med I take is counteracting it. It maybe time for some ambien or another sleeping pill. So this is a good tip, definitely get up for a few minutes and move around to prevent going right back in. Thanks for letting me word vomit on your Comment...lol
A trick to stop sleep paralysis: Breathe very quickly and frantically, so the body notices that you are awake and wakes up immediately. (Helps me every time)
Sleep paralysis is a state, during waking up or falling asleep, in which a person is aware but unable to move or speak. During an episode, one may hallucinate (hear, feel, or see things that are not there), which often results in fear.
According to neurologists, the paralysis and (often?) accompanying tactile hallucinations (sense of touch) come from the center of your brain that normally allows you to have vivid, active dreams and not constantly throw yourself out of bed... or wake yourself up. It's otherwise rare for someone to experience a tactile hallucination, and normally the abundance of hallucinatory experiences are visual and audible. It' worth pointing out that this rarity regarding tactile hallucinations causes some distress in those who experience it. A rather popularly observed hallucination is being choked, struck, or attacked somehow. Choking or strangling and a sense of someone/thing sitting or straddling the victim seem to be most popular (though I can only speak to my own experience/observations)... SO perhaps, it's worth mention that stress often results in tension, particularly in or about the neck and throat, as well as in the chest. This might well be the simple explanation for why so many have hallucinatory episodes of a "sleep demon" sitting on their chest and/or strangling them in their bed... at their most vulnerable. Other sensations of being struck, stung, burned, stabbed, or otherwise tortured may be related to the person's particular personal phobias and/or fears. If you're particularly skiddish of stinging insects (ants/bees/wasps/scorpions/etc) then stinging may be your personal "go-to" for stress induced tactile hallucinations. It's still no more personally self destructive than an old fashioned nightmare or maybe a night-terror. Notice I mentioned specifically "skiddish"? That's because you don't need a full on "morbid phobia" for it to effect you. Plenty of folks who haven't a real phobia of something experience it as their worst, personal fear or trauma in memory... SO you don't necessarily need to be ashamed of a childish sense of terror over the experience you most often get in "sleep paralysis"... It's not that big a deal. AND rather like the vid' said... If you can learn to stay calm, then this same experience can be key to lucid dreaming experiences... giving a lingering touch to the dream-state so you have space and time to get back to your dream of preference. It still takes work, but my "sleep demon" is a Succubus who calls herself "Daemonica"... AND we have a WONDERFUL time, now that I'm less than absolutely terrified to greet her! I almost can't wait to see her again. ;o)
I've had sleep paralysis since I was in my mid-teens (27 now) and the don't let the eyes wander tip is definitely a key for dealing with it. I can usually tell when they are coming because I will hear a ringing in my ears, so I start small movements and focus on my breathing to escape the paralysis. A few times I've actually been able to fully get up and move while my mind is still hallucinating so my first instinct was to punch the apparitions...but when I fully wake up, I'm like damn ok I literally just tried to throw hands with a sleep paralysis demon lol
I’m 14 and I’ve been depressed since the past two years and I have been extremely stressed so now I’m scared to sleep YAY ANOTHER THING TO WORRY ABOUT :D
@@Kazarijyanainoyonamidawa it’s usually terrifying and you could feel very helpless in the beginning but with practice you can overcome the fear and use the altered state of mind to gain insight into your being
@@Armand10ify so because you never experienced something, you take a cheap stab at a more experienced human? You might be a millenial... Then again, you just might be another funny guy who was born yesterday.
Yeah haha sometimes I can actually feel myself going into sleep paralysis and I just start shaking my head and trying to force myself to stay awake until I can move again it really does feel like something bad is gonna happen if you let yourself stay on that state I stopped opening my eyes during sleep paralysis because everything seems real af I can get the "between realms" comment like that state between being awake and asleep opens some gate that allow your inner demons in Hey that would make a great story!
@Teresa Matzin so, the repeated emojis signifying laughing to the point of tears was not bullying? Ok, boomer. Back to the almond cookie factory with you.
Also another way to escape a sleep paralysis is to stay calm and close your eyes and hold your breath for around 5 - 20 seconds because since your body thinks its still sleeping it will wake up because you aren't breathing.
@@chahansudawiguey5176 I imagine so, if you ever have that fake falling feeling while trying to sleep that’s your brain sending a single to your body to make sure you’re not dying and actually sleeping. This same signal could be triggered possibly by holding your breath minus the falling feeling
I'm still amazed at a feat of logic my brain performed at 3 o'clock at night: - I see you clearly - I'm lying in bed with my glasses off - If you were real, you'd be blurry --> you're not real q.e.d.
Hey you. Everything is going to be okay. 1. Don't let your imagination run wild 2. Don't believe what you see 3. Don't focus on the visions 4. Don't panic (at the disco) =) 5. Don't struggle. Pro tip slowly wiggle your hands & toes instead 6. Don't let your eye wander. Close your eyes instead. 7. Don't expect the worst. This too Shall pass. So, What can you do? Please go see a medical professional. Frequent Sleep paralysis is serious. Take a deep breath. Stretch the corners of your mouth upwards. May all your worries wash away and you find pockets of peace throughout your day 💗 Dr. Liz
I'm 17 and I've struggled with SP since I was 12, and let me tell ya, it's the scariest thing that could happen to anyone. I used to suffer SP about 3 times a year, but recently, I've ve been through a lot of stress. That caused me to have an SP every night, even 3 times a night. The hallucinations get worse and worse, and every time I get less sleep. My recommendation to escape from it is to accept it can happen again and accepting it's your mind tricking you too. That's the way your brain reacts to stress. You need to take care of yourself. You need to stop putting yourself in stressful situations. Give yourself a chance to breathe and some quality time. As I said, it probably will happen again, BUT it also will stop. Wish you the best, honey. There's nothing to fear, you have a whole community holding your back
Same kinda situation but I’ve been enjoying mine I get the occasional horror ones but I enjoy the fear. Most recent one I got on where I was stuck on my side facing the window and the sky was red as something called my name I was in college at the time so that was clearly the trigger getting no sleep on a shit sleep schedule.
Thanks ❤ My SP has increased in number recently, like 3-4 times a week. Whenever I get it I'm just like - oh not again! I never saw or felt any kind of demon near me but I do hear voices from time to time. Sometimes they are in a completely different language but mostly they are in my regional one so I remember and understand the context which is fascinating yet terrifying 😅
the last time I had sleep paralysis, I listened to thoughts to relax and didn't resist, it was the worst thing I did, every time I exhaled and relaxed my body, I was overcome by even stronger shackles and the feeling that someone is sucking energy from me and feeling its presence is getting stronger. I started to resist with all my might and it disappeared, I felt so relieved, remember we live in a spiritual world.
Very true, do not relax, instead move frantically, it helps. The more relaxed, the more strong the outside force is, based on experience. During sleep paralysis, our mind is awake but body is asleep, so it causes stress in the mind. But trust and MOVE your body to wake up, move fast. & theres another comment saying breathe in & out fast, might want to do that next time.
Whenever I have sleep paralysis my eyes are always closed. There was this one time when I was stuck in sleep paralysis I was in my dorm and my eyes were closed as usual but I usually have a routine I do to get out of it. But this time it wasn’t working so I just layer there and eventually I began to dream. And it was extremely vivid. It was as if I had began to lucid dream. In my dream I was at a football game playing and I was so confused because I was just in my room a couple of seconds ago. Because of my confusion we lost the game and my coach asked me why I was just standing there and I responded that I’m not actually there right now. That I’m at college in my dorm asleep and this is all a dream. He was like “what????” But he said it as if he knew that the gig was up and then I sank into the ground and woke up.
A lot of people who try to lucid dream intentionally go through sleep paralysis and do this for this reason. It makes the lucid dreams extremely vivid and although I've never done it, I want to try some day.
@@haimainameisani4517 you'll get tingly. i love lucid dreaming but i never get scared of sleep paralysis i guess that's a away to avoid sleep paralysis
One thing this video doesn’t mention is how it feels like you are suffocating when this happens because you don’t breathe as deeply in your sleep! For me, that’s the worst part.
I usually get them when I nap during the day. The best way to handle it imo is to keep your eyes closed and try to move/wiggle your extremities. Sleep paralysis used to freak me out sooo much but if you can get through it and realize it’s a dream you can go into a lucid dream
@Hazel Nut Your not alone, I experience it numerous of time wherein I keep shouting and shouting until my throat dried but still no one hear me But I think too much experiencing it, I encounter something supernatural like I hear a voice imitating my older sister's voice saying that "you will never wake up" then someone behind me hug me tightly and it felt so cold, because of that, it makes me afraid to sleep I told my sister about it and now, she chooses to sleep beside me to check me out from time to time I really love her very much, she's the only person I could share this experience because my parents doesn't believe me.
5:31 Actually, struggling is what releases me from the paralysis. After having it a good number of times, I know what's the amount of force required for me to "escape" sleep paralysis and it usually works. Sometimes I'm just too tired/lazy to do that though, and the technique showed in the video helps a lot.
Same but this one was a little confusing. I was in it for awhile but for some reason I didn’t decide to try and wake up for awhile I was kinda like dazed almost thinking of other things. Good thing I was thinking of memes instead of creepy stuff 😂
Yeah I use all the strength in my body to break out. And I’m always successful when doing it. But right after you break out, your upper chest/throat area feels uncomfortable for a few seconds. And I haven’t seen or heard anything weird like the rest of you. I just can’t move
Big kudos to all Psych2Go creators: - to the speaker, for her soft and relaxing voice - to the authors for choosing such interesting contents - to the illustrators (the leaves on the characters' head are adorable) - to the videomaker for choosing the perfect background music for the topic 😂 Btw, I've never had a sleep paralysis and hope I'll never experience it with all my heart. I wish a serene sleep to everybody ❤.
@@Psych2go Of course I did :) At least now I know what (not) to do in case I have a sleep paralysis. Many of these points are instinctively right, but listening to an external voice focus on that is helpful; the problem is to keep control of yourself while you live these not-so-nice experiences. Thank you for your work! 🌟 :)
One of the major causes of sleep paralysis is sleep deprivation, or a lack of sleep. A changing sleep schedule, sleeping on your back, the use of certain medications, stress, and other sleep-related problems, such as narcolepsy, may also play a role👍
I’ve had sleep paralysis multiple times the first time you have it is the most scary part cause you wouldn’t think that sleep paralysis is happening unless you see a demon you’d just think you’re paralyzed
I just had it yesterday i was scared shitless because I didn’t even know what sleep paralysis was at the time so i actually thought what i was going through was real luckily I didn’t hallucinate or anything but i could hear the sound of wind extremely hard and had a hard time breathing I genuinely thought that was gonna be the end of me I’m never sleeping on my back ever again even if it means I’ll have to die for it
I've been dealing with SP since I was about 10. I'm 22 now. It happens for me about every year , probably between 1-10 times a year depending. Usually multiple times a night. Luckily as I've gotten older it's been way easier to handle because I'm basically a paralysis vet now. It's gotten to the point that I like. Acknowledge I'm going into it before it happens and just ride it out without any problems anymore really
Is there a reason for you to experience it so frequently? Is your sleep schedule bad? Also I had my first ep of sleep paralysis when I was 13, now I had the second one (im 15) because I learnt what sleep paralysis meant
i always hear loud screaming in my head while having sleep paralysis and whenever i woke up from it i get really really sleepy and just fall to the sleep paralysis again-
Many years ago, I would get sleep paralysis more often, because I slept in a different position then. I stopped sleeping in that position, and ever since, at least that I remember, I haven't experienced it. Typically I was laying on my back with my head turned off to my right, at least when I would wake up. I would have the frightening experience of being in an uncomfortable position, barely being able to move. I also had the feeling that I could barley breathe. I would tell myself to stay calm and fight back with all my willpower, and I would break free fairly easily. I almost miss the experience, its strange.
Make a blood test. Check your iron, magnesium and hemoglobine levels. It used to happened to me often, but I had anemia and lots of vitamins deficiencies that triggered sleep paralyisis. Also, open up about any emotional struggle you are going through, that helps a lot to reduce stress. And last but not least don't drink, eat, too sugary food or consume caffeine after 5 pm. That affects the quality of your sleep.
i have one once in a while the worse thing is that my eyes be closed and i cant open them so i dont ever see anything scary i just think a ghost has possessed me then i panic eventually i fall asleep into a dream
Just had my first experience last night. It was really weird because I was in the middle of a dream that turned into a nightmare, I won't get into it but the demon threw me onto my bed into the position i was asleep in. I then woke up frozen and the demon was in my room inches from my face. Then it spazed out moved irratically and floated in my room on its back. I was on my side too. I looked away and it disappeared that's when I felt like someone had a light choke hold on me. So I wiggled around and finally broke free.
My first sleep paralysis was 2 years ago when my cat died that night i was soo stressing and my sleep paralysis demon was like he was all black with a white hoodie and blood with a weapon and i named im (The Cat Killer) And Then i told my mom to wake me up at 1am then it didn’t work and then i looked away and it didn’t disparear then the other demon’was 7 years ago when i was 2 its was statues that was white and watching me so i didn’t know i could cry then my mom waked me up but now im 9 and my cat wasn’t dead its was a prank😭😭
I started having sleep paralysis since the divorce of my parents when I was around 6 or 7 years old. As a kid, I had no idea how to escape, for me it was the door to nightmare :'( Thankfully, growing up, I've learned to rationalize better; and presently as an adult, thanks to meditation, I've learned new tips in helping me to handle the situation better, like : - focus on your breath, don't let your thoughts run wild, just think of breathing calmly and peacefully. - after calming down, I do like in the video: I start moving my body slowly until the paralysis is over. - when I'm fully conscious I turn on a soft light and look for soft and peaceful music to comfort me. I think is a good thing to do something that makes you feel better after that awful experience hehe I hope this helps someone a little
i use to have it so often around my teen years. everything you mentioned i had to learn on my own, expect for the moving around, i got that tip from someone else 😊 i move my fingers and toes. but it really is the worst.
That's alot of unneeded work all you have to do is declare Jesus Christ as your lord and savior!!! and they instantly leave you don't hate until you try. the first time and everytime its worked for me it's instant they depart from you but your eyes will be opened to what we can't see as nonfiction afterwards
@Zero Yeah, but now the thought of it will make me not wanna go to sleep at night now, and even though it lasts for a few minutes i would probably panic and after it have a total break down 😫😫
@zeroyeetsim fine if its just demonic looking creatures which my monstrously creative sub-conscious mind made up, what im not fine with is imagining a robber (something that can be real)
So don't be afraid. I've those and they are not scary even if I have vivid hallucinations. Those things won't kill you, you just need to say to them in your mine to leave you alone and you will feel relieved after a few seconds.
@@Mortal_Remidon't be, you are just letting others experiences influence you. I've had very vivid hallucinations but when you know what you're capable to do, those experiences are not that heavy. If ypu control your emotions those experiences will be funny to tell with time.
I started experiencing sleep paralysis when I was around 15-16. It was truly one of the most terrifying things that’s ever happened to me, but I am proud to say that over time I started implementing these tips mentioned in the video to help myself. I didn’t even know what was going on, but my first instinct was to stay calm, and not panic. Although I had it pretty easy, because I’ve never had very intense hallucinations (I also always kept my eyes closed). The most common one was when several palms started to get closer and closer to my face, and it became very difficult to breathe. It’s a traumatic experience, but it’s definitely manageable. I recommend trying to move your pinky or your toes, and take it slowly, no need to rush. It’s super difficult, because your body feels like it weighs triple your weight, so just take your time. Also, super important: once you get out of that state, do NOT go back to sleep. To me it’s really difficult, because at those times I always feel extremely exhausted, but try to get up and walk around a bit. After that you’re good to go back to bed. It’s nice seeing this topic being talked about, when I was experiencing it there were barely any information on the web about it, and I always felt super weird about myself. But it’s normal. Take care loves❤️
I have identified one huge factor that I think is very important in mentioning! That is that unpleasant smells or strong odors in the bedroom triggered my friend's issue with this. Sleeping next to a dirty laundry basket, a filled trashcan, a cat liter box or gerbil cage, or a mildewed area are strong odors and can be but don't have to be reminiscient of unwanted things that you smell while asleep and you want to feel in control of your environment. It can but doesn't have to trigger this. Also, one person's calming smell is not always another person's preference. Lavender is supposed to be calming, but it is not what I want to smell. What do you enjoy smelling? Feel that sensation amd practice returning to it during the day. Being tired can take away your motivation to be self-disciplined. Understandable, but I believe your challenge is to become your own 'genie'. You are loved as much as you may reject that notion as self love and acceptance. I believe it is our soul's purpose. Journaling, daily meditation, and positive affirmation before bed reach the subconscious mind when practiced regularly. I share this only as I wish the viewers here peace. Also, keeping all areas of your life orderly (not compulsively) but especially in the bedroom provides a sense of increasing empowerment. I send you loving prayers in whatever faith you practice or don't practice... it's all energy...but, to me Angels are real. We are meant to feel positively expectant solutions in prayer while accepting that it is your birthright and not praying for what you don't want. Like attracts like. Reading positive literature reaches your subconscious, too. Exercise is always good even if it's just a walk. Many blessings.
I usually just kinda stuff my face with my blanket so just in case I'm in sleep paralysis none of them can touch my face. (Even though they're hulucinations)
The worse about this is my sleep paralysis is that it was a sound so I couldn't distract myself as it was everywhere. There was a loud banging and clicking, footsteps but worse of all the sound of a young woman laughing moving until she was right next to my ears. I closed my eyes the whole time and forced myself awake.
The worst one I've had is a guy yelling so loud like I was at a concert in front of the speakers at full blast. Only thing was is that his voice was clear. All he did was scream "AHhhhhh"
I get it pretty often and since I’ve been getting more used to it I’ve been pushing the boundaries to see what happens. The most that’s happened to me is so far is hearing footsteps or people talking in reverse.
It’s nuts isn’t it? There is more to this reality than we know or understand. I come out of my body and can get pretty far. I will say it’s a carbon copy of our current realm but muddled and dark like a shadow. It’s a sort of inbetween.
I just going through a sleep paralysis 2 days ago, i literally can't move or speak at all, but this is not my first time having a sleep paralysis. Usually, i'm having a sleep paralysis when my mind or my body is too tired or i just watch some horror movies, or the worst case is i forgot to pray before going to bed and sleeping with an unstable mind. Well, actually, i can say that even though this video is telling is that it was a hallucination, but from my experience, the demons or the "hallucinations" can only be resisted and overcome when i started to speak and calling the name of Jesus:) Trust me, it helps you to awake more faster, when there's no one that possible to wake you up, just call His name, He is always there to help you. Don't forget to pray before you sleep and make sure you are sleeping with a clear mind and a grateful heart. God bless you!
I experienced this once when i woke up in the middle of the night i wasn't able too move i was in a pillow it was hard to breathe so i had to move until i woke up cause i was afraid to die from suffocating
I experience sleep paralysis and more recently “exploding head syndrome” and all I can say is, as I got less scared of sleep paralysis, it’s adapted over time. So now I don’t get intruder or pressure hallucinations, I get full on dragged from my bed type hallucinations instead.
When ever I’m in a sleep paralysis I just try to move my finger to eventually moving my hand and waking up. I thought everyone knew that, only one time have I thought the worse and I didn’t see anything I just tried to wake up. I’m usually not thinking of anything scary the first thing on my mind is how to wake up or if I’m sleeping.
I experience sleep paralysis quite often but not regularly, I usually hear voices when it happens, sometimes see things as well, but I wake up from them pretty fast by trying really hard to move my hands and it works most of the time. Thank you for giving more information about that cases, it happens to more people then we think.
Nine times out of ten, my Sleep Paralysis Demon ends up being my cat. She’s black, but she sleeps with her mouth open and her bottom teeth sticking out, with her eyes in that “mostly closed but you can still see them kinda and is asleep so not focusing” state that cats do. So I’ll just barely see these reflective slits and bright white teeth in the darkness, and my mind will want to run away with that. I just kinda focus on feeling where she is, usually asleep next to my legs. The focus on using some other sense to recognize something familiar is generally enough to get me to relax. Helps me ground myself.
My cat who passed away in 2018 saved me today i believe cuz i saw him right wehn i pleaded to wake up he walking in and save dme i love him to death i was thinking about him the other day too
Reading the comment section makes me feel a WHOLE lot better ! It's good to know that you're not alone and other people had the same experience. Who agrees with me ? Here are some tips I found 1. Wiggle your toes 2. Breath heavy and frantically 3.Write or chant a holy name 4. Don't open your eyes and try to relax 5. Forcefully move the tip of your finger 6.Think of something good Try each of them and test which one helps you better . Hope you have a good night.

@@chriss1011 Just saying - people can have different religions and believes. So, I just said to chant a holy name - which is not specific . Plus, I mentioned that you should try each one to see which one will help the most.
@@chriss1011 They aren't demons though. They're dreams you have while awake and they can become nightmares if you get anxious from your body still being asleep. The religious chant might help calm you down if you're religious, but if you don't try the other tips, your belief in demons might make a nightmare take that shape. I literally had Sleep Paralysis this morning and I didn't open my eyes so I didn't see anything, but I heard shuffling footsteps near the side of my bed. It sounded like some frat bro starting telling me I needed to get up or I was going to be late. In my head I said, Oh hell no and kept my eyes shut. Then heard "Ok bro, gotcha." Then I woke up. So unless the demon from AlphaBetaOmega or whatever wanted to haze me, you're being very silly
Think about dumb things, close your eyes and wiggle your toes. Usually wiggling my toes allows me to have the mental strength to force myself to move my arms to break out of sleep paralysis. It works for me but it might not work for you.
I've had sleep paralysis once. Fortunately my eyes were shut the entire time, only because I couldn't move my body at all. Luckily I knew what was happening and fell asleep quickly.
I have literally just woken up from a sleep paralysis episode and immediately looked up what to do to get out of it. The moving your fingers and toes thing is very helpful as i naturally tried doing it in past episodes. Its really scary. I dont see hallucinations, or anything bad. I just see my room but the scary part for me is being numb and not able to move
Bruh, they don't exist, why would you panick to a bunch of 3d-mental- photoshop-weird-looking-creatures ? Try not to wander with ur eyes around, but if you see them you can either look away and tell urself," if they were still there they would have killed me already" or stare at them and think, "you fool, i'm so cool and so scary that life feels like minecraft baby mode you noobs",i personally prefer the second option. Also if u imagine ur intouchable and they cant even look at you, who do you think ur dreams will hear? You or an hallutination made by you? YOU. So unless you imagine the hallutination attacking you they won't, u're too cool for that B)

Usually during sleep paralysis I feel another presence in the room with me. Sometimes I feel the presence sit on the end of the bed. Once I got over my fear and looked at the end of the bed. I saw what looked like me sitting at the end of the bed staring at the me laying in the bed. Another time I was woke up paralyzed feeling great pain but was able to move my eyes downward and saw what looked like two very white arms coming up and out of my arms that were laying on the bed.
I have been experiencing such things since childhood, I used to think it was part of a nightmare, but recently I found out it is a real thing that many people experience too
I suffer from this a lot, and I cannot stress enough that point number 5 is true! Don’t struggle strenuously. I used to do this and made it worse! If I get sleep paralysis, I breathe and relax my muscles. It works. Great video! Thanks for making these types of struggles more well known and creating awareness!!!
Really? Struggling works for me but it is a little hard. This time though it was less of trying and more of thinking, kinda a creepy thought but I thought of kinda peeling my eyelids open with my hands. I think I was panicking a little and had this creepy thought which could’ve also been why it worked 😅
Thank you for being the only video I've found that doesn't include creepy horror music. That doesn't help when you're still shook from your first experience with this.
I've had sleep paralysis where the dream took place in my bathtub (even though I was actually in my bed) and something was trying to drown me by pushing down on my chest. Drowning is my worst fear. I struggled to get out of it but when I did I was actually out of breath. That's just one of my many scary sleep paralysis stories, and I've felt the pressure on my chest several times. I almost always realize that I'm having sleep paralysis, but that was the only time I didnt. I thought I was going to die. I've learned to keep my eyes closed during sleep paralysis, and it helps so much. Now I usually only get the paralysis part of it, but occasionally I'll feel a presence in the room or feel something touch me.
one of.my ways go like this. PUSH YOURSELF UPWARDS. It works. But if you see yourself ascending from your body, you failed. Your officially Astral projecting.. don't push too much
I experienced sleep paralysis about twice in my life so far, and I have to say it's the scariest experience I have ever had. I remember that one time, I hallucinated that there were two "things" coming towards me at high speed under my bed cover. I could see the bed cover "move" and I could feel things coming at me... I imagined those "things" were disembodied hands moving around on their own, moving towards me. I couldn't move, I couldn't speak, I was absolutely TERRIFIED. My body was in a full state of panic and shock, trying to break free and get out of bed, but I just couldn't. It was super scary and creepy. As someone who has been having sleeping issues for the past couple of years, I can't stress enough how important and valuable having a good night's sleep is. Don't neglect your body and your health, people.
@@yaoming7780 Same I was just watching a video about lucid dreams to try for the first time and then I saw a video about sleep paralysis and I'm scared to try or just go to sleep now😭
I try to wake up instantly and I feel there is a devil that want to take my soul, and I think that if that devil take my soul, my life will be end 💀, and I successfully defeat the "devil" called sleep paralysis after I try moving my finger and toes Don't sleep facing to the cloud, try other sleeping position, it can prevent sleeping paralysis
Felt a strong wind at my back and kept my eyes closed. The wind kept blowing more and more powerful. I think it's something spiritual, lesson is face your demons and know that the all mighty is with you even if you think he isn't
Thank you. I have had reassuring sleep paralysis since im 16. This helped me a lot. The first times I got it I read about it on wikipedia and there was a lot of false information. Now I know what it is and I know how to handle it. I've had visual hallucinations first, then auditory as well. When I was sleeping next to someone, I would hear them talk sometimes and then when I confronted them with it, they said they were fully asleep. I would here really loud music, as if I were in a club or people screaming.
Today was my first day of sleep paralysis. I was facing the wall on my bed so I didn't have a much clearer vision but I had already felt that I was under the effect so I started reciting prayers in my mind which calmed me a lot and helped me get through the phase quickly
.... I was literally just journaling about this less than 30 seconds ago, so..... timing? I guess? So glad you made this so people at least have exposure. If I hadn't heard of it before it happened to me I don't know what I would have done because I 100% came out hallucinating the nightmare I'd just had. It was something called a Tailypo hunting me and I remember realizing I was awake and being relieved and then the voice followed me out and said it was still coming for me. In my head I knew if I could just touch my SO it'd be over for realsies, but I was too far away so I mostly ended up just focusing on moving a finger, which finally worked.... not my favorite. Good luck out there everyone! Sleep well sweet dreams!

I had always slept with calming music playing. When I have a bout of sleep paralysis I can hear the calming music which keeps me grounded and stops my panic. I happen to have a lot of auditory hallucinations but I always know what is real, the music.
Its the dumbest thing I've heard in a bit, no wonder it came from a 'psychologist'... Yeah, that figure hovering above my bed is just part of my imagination, I'll try and keep a leash on it.
Hallucinations can also affect other senses such hearing or touch. It happened to me during my sleep paralysis. Thankfully, I didn't experienced a lot of them, but each time it happened I had my eyes closed but I was hearing voices and footsteps, and I was feeling a presence and movements. It is pretty scary since I couldn't move or talk, nor open my eyes.
Unfortunately It happens to me Alot with the voices and footsteps too. It’s like the panic starts to happen quickly when you hear the footsteps and noises coming closer and I even hear my doorknob turning and seen figures. I always try to make myself fall off the bed to wake myself up but there’s been times where I’ve called and screamed my moms name in my SP and wake up calling for her. Sometimes I think Alot of it has to do with living alone and there’s always a fear in the back of mind that if something might happen to me while I’m sleeping because that’s when you are most vulnerable so i sometimes have a fear of falling asleep especially with my door open I think it plays a big role.
I have experienced this too but I didn’t feel alarmed or stressed about it. It was more like your mum is around and doesn’t want to wake u up but needs something out of ur room and comes in and goes away again. Do you all think there could be harmless sleep paralysis? It doesn’t feel ‚attacking’ in my home
Dude this happen to me I was asleep and I had a dream that a naked woman a dead naked woman got in my bed and i shot awake I couldn't move for 30 seconds
Same... When I was a teenager I had weird dreams and started reading about lucid dreaming and dream experiments and actually welcomed it almost like I cursed myself forever now smh
i’ve had sleep paralysis episodes since i was about 6 (i’m 19 now). it’s gotten to the point where i can wake myself out of it & sometimes see how long i can lay there without freaking out too much
My mom told me that if ever I'll be in this kind of situation, it's good to try to move my pinky fingers first and just focus on that, set the phrase "I need to move my pink fingers" in your mind so my mind won't create many hallucinations. But while in that process I should try to be calm as possible for me not to trigger more stress. After a while I'll be able to move my fingers or any part of my body and everything will be also fine. She told me that grandma had a sleep paralysis before, and she also had one back when she was in highschool, because of the fear that it might also happen to me she told me this. As of now I haven't experienced a sleep paralysis, and I wish I would never experience such.
This is what just happened to me last night. It was my 2nd sleep paralysis this year. The 1st one was quite horrifying as if someone was choking me and I lost in panic a bit. The 2nd one from last night I focused on admitting I am in a sleep paralysis and decided to move my thumb, and I gradually awaken from sleep lightheaded and dizzy.
I remember having a whole week of constant sleep paralysis, it got to the point where it wouldn’t scare me and it was more of an annoyance, almost like morning routine. Thankfully I haven’t had it in the past few months, but when it happens, my hearts beat increases but I know what’s going on. Pretty epic
My most memorable sleep paralysis was about 4 years ago... as I lay frozen and the dancing disfigured lady was nearing me... Chris Evans laid beside me in bed, he looked directly into my eyes until I was able to fully wake up. I remembered that was the night after I finished a 16 hour shift at work and we watched Avengers Endgame that night. Thank you, Chris Evans. I hope you answer my DMs. Lol.
I had it just last month while I was taking a nap (in the morning) and it was so hard to escape from. It happened after a few days of sleeping late. At first, it gave me a fear of falling asleep because I might see frightening things again. I even avoided being alone while sleeping. The hallucination started with a man running quickly inside our house and began hurting each of our family members... I was the last one. Fortunately, I was able to quickly look down on our feet and have not seen his face. Because if only I did see his face, it will increase my fear. I closed my eyes, as usual but the fear did not end there. I saw myself sleeping on the left and facing the wall. It's my sleeping position irl. The man I saw earlier ran quickly beside my bed tho there's no gap in between my bed and the wall. He was just standing there and I felt like he's waiting for me to look at his face. I tried moving my right shoulder and saying my sister's name (because at that time, I already could hear her voice while she was in her OC) but I just couldn't. I end up just looking empty at the man in front of me, just on his cloth btw and blinked a lot of times until he turned to a shadow. Seconds passed and I fin'lly woke up. That's my worst experience. 😕
Just woke up from sleep paralysis a few minutes ago. I can usually get by if the hallucinations are imagery, since I tend to keep my eyes closed during paralysis. The voices are what get me.
I’m usually unable to speak….but I think Jesus and try to mouth His name as long as I can. It’s a horrible experience and it’s been going on over 40 years now.
Got sleep paraylisis 3× in a row at one night and the method i used to escape it is by step 1: do not panicing. Step 2: think of reality and try to harm yourself in your dream if you are really awake Step 3: If you dont feel harm, try to make your self stressed as possible without scaring yourself For example: Dont think of scary things. Burst out your exhale and try to burst vibrate your body. These makes me wake up in a sudden time
For 2, she is absolutely correct. I am a sufferer of sleep paralysis, and it's happened since I was very young, ranging from either 4-5 years old, and I still get it now. Yes, the best way to exit sleep paralysis is to not believe in your surroundings. It may sound hard to do, but once you've gotten the hang of it, It will work. Do not try this with your eyes open, as it reduces the chances of you waking up. Instead, close your eyes. When your eyes are closed, you may think that these hallucinations may be haunting you, or getting ready to spook you. But, no. Closing your eyes will give you the chance to wake up, as blinking will make it worse.
At first it was scary AF , but I've gotten so use to it over many years that when it happens, I know it's sleep paralysis and just wait till it ends or try pushing it to end, even then it's still very unpleasant, but there are worst things in life. I have also noticed, I tend to get it alot more when I'm having problems, troubled mind, overthinking, depression etc, Thanks God I never had an encounter in about a year or so now, I think it's largely due to having a free less over active mindset.
I always feel sad because I want to fight my hallucinations but my body doesn't let me... Also when my sleep paralysis happens I see my room differently making me think it's still part of my dream and then I get out of it and I can see what part of my room made up which part of the hallucinations I experienced... truly fascinating. I never feel scared rather I feel like fighting. Happens very often to me.
I had a small sleep paralysis moment. Woke up couldn't speak and move. One thing i did was kept my eyes closed and i tried wiggling my fingers really quickly. Workwd like a charm.

I had sleep paralysis 3 times in a row doing this once!
@@RadioactiveChannel06 since 2 months i also started dealing with sleep paralysis, and also experienced like you multiple time's in a row
when i get them i get multiple times. when i wake up middle of the night to use the bathroom and if i don.t fall back to sleep in 5mins i,ll get sleep paralysis when i try to fall back to sleep. and if that happens to me. i get signs to when im about to get one. it starts with a ringing sound in my head. what i do is i just get back up and walk around for few mins then sit down on my bed for 15 mins then go back to bed and i,ll fall back to sleep with no sleep paralysis and i get a good night sleep. and yeah when i do get of sleep paralsis i,ll feel to sleepy to get back up and close my eye again and then im in sleep paralysis telling my self why did i just not get up. i got saved in sleep parralysis twice in my life. the 1st was from my friends dog. the dog jumped on me and i got out of sleep paralsis right away. and the 2nd time was in my room when i woke up to go bathroom. did not fall sleep in 5mins and when i tryed to fall back to sleep. sleep paralysis again. and while i was in it. my phone was in my pucket and my phone was on vibrate. my friends text me and the phone vibrated and woke me up out of sleep paralysis.

Sleep paralysis is a state, during waking up or falling asleep, in which a person is aware but unable to move or speak. During an episode, one may hallucinate (hear, feel, or see things that are not there), which often results in fear.
Omg thanks 😂♥️
Yes! That inability to move or make a sound is terrifying.
Why do I feel stabbing, bees stinging me,punches and more?
I always hear my mother or father yelling my name

@@chahansudawiguey5176 I imagine so, if you ever have that fake falling feeling while trying to sleep that’s your brain sending a single to your body to make sure you’re not dying and actually sleeping. This same signal could be triggered possibly by holding your breath minus the falling feeling

In my experience, going back to sleep helps a lot
Most recent one I got on where I was stuck on my side facing the window and the sky was red as something called my name I was in college at the time so that was clearly the trigger getting no sleep on a shit sleep schedule.

the last time I had sleep paralysis, I listened to thoughts to relax and didn't resist, it was the worst thing I did, every time I exhaled and relaxed my body, I was overcome by even stronger shackles and the feeling that someone is sucking energy from me and feeling its presence is getting stronger.

@@Psych2go Of course I did :) At least now I know what (not) to do in case I have a sleep paralysis. This woman is amazing at explaining this with keeping it so calm. Most some people just explain it as the scariest thing ever. Well done 😊
One of the major causes of sleep paralysis is sleep deprivation, or a lack of sleep. A changing sleep schedule, sleeping on your back, the use of certain medications, stress, and other sleep-related problems, such as narcolepsy, may also play a role👍
I personally found it caused more because of stress
I usually experience sleep paralysis when i sleep on my back. It can be really scary not being able to move.
and im surprised I never had sleep paralysis before
It’s even worse when it happens and you’re sleeping on your stomach. I start feeling like someone is laying on me. It’s creepy as hell🙂
Who else has never had a sleep paralysis episode but is so terrified of it they dont want to fall alseep...
probably just me
Omg me too!
I’ve had sleep paralysis multiple times the first time you have it is the most scary part cause you wouldn’t think that sleep paralysis is happening unless you see a demon you’d just think you’re paralyzed
Ive had it, once.
I mean, i was facing the wall and half my vision was covered by my pillow so-
I just had it yesterday i was scared shitless because I didn’t even know what sleep paralysis was at the time so i actually thought what i was going through was real luckily I didn’t hallucinate or anything but i could hear the sound of wind extremely hard and had a hard time breathing I genuinely thought that was gonna be the end of me I’m never sleeping on my back ever again even if it means I’ll have to die for it

I have it like every day and it scares me every time. I don’t wanna sleep anymore because it’s way too scary
Lmao proffesor snape was mine
Make a blood test. Check your iron, magnesium and hemoglobine levels. It used to happened to me often, but I had anemia and lots of vitamins deficiencies that triggered sleep paralyisis. Also, open up about any emotional struggle you are going through, that helps a lot to reduce stress. And last but not least don't drink, eat, too sugary food or consume caffeine after 5 pm. That affects the quality of your sleep.
Chill out guys. Esdeath has sleep paralysis, not this person. Right? @Esdeath

As a kid, I had no idea how to escape, for me it was the door to nightmare :'(
Thankfully, growing up, I've learned to rationalize better; and presently as an adult, thanks to meditation, I've learned new tips in helping me to handle the situation better, like :
- focus on your breath, don't let your thoughts run wild, just think of breathing calmly and peacefully.
- after calming down, I do like in the video: I start moving my body slowly until the paralysis is over.
- when I'm fully conscious I turn on a soft light and look for soft and peaceful music to comfort me. I think is a good thing to do something that makes you feel better after that awful experience hehe
I hope this helps someone a little
i use to have it so often around my teen years. everything you mentioned i had to learn on my own, expect for the moving around, i got that tip from someone else 😊 i move my fingers and toes. but it really is the worst.
That's alot of unneeded work all you have to do is declare Jesus Christ as your lord and savior!!! and they instantly leave you don't hate until you try. the first time and everytime its worked for me it's instant they depart from you but your eyes will be opened to what we can't see as nonfiction afterwards

Me: Sleep with my face under my blanket
Also me, during Sleep paralysis: i'm under the blanket, nothing can touch me
I usually just kinda stuff my face with my blanket so just in case I'm in sleep paralysis none of them can touch my face. (Even though they're hulucinations)
I'm legit doing that rn
Blanket is an OP war item
I'll copy u
it can be dangerous
The worse about this is my sleep paralysis is that it was a sound so I couldn't distract myself as it was everywhere. There was a loud banging and clicking, footsteps but worse of all the sound of a young woman laughing moving until she was right next to my ears. I closed my eyes the whole time and forced myself awake.
Sometimes imagination is useful against nightmare you know
Same things happens with me :/
That's terrifying 😣
I also hear a sound but not to that level , for me is just a really loud alarm (I think because alarms really scare me )
The worst one I've had is a guy yelling so loud like I was at a concert in front of the speakers at full blast. Only thing was is that his voice was clear. All he did was scream "AHhhhhh"
I get it pretty often and since I’ve been getting more used to it I’ve been pushing the boundaries to see what happens. The most that’s happened to me is so far is hearing footsteps or people talking in reverse.
bro that scares me
Yeah, until you push that boundary in a demon comes in and you’re fucked

2. Breath heavy and frantically

5. Forcefully move the tip of your finger
6.Think of something good

God I feel so bad for you honestly that must be hell. I hope You’re better now and try to stay clear from negative thoughts
Yes I hear footsteps too. But it's just the heartbeat that you feel.
Iv'e had it many times throughout my life, now I recognise it easily and manage to wake my body up despite it demanding a lot of effort
i hate sleep paralysis, lucid dreams, and not sleeping and guess what happens to me all the time??
Same... When I was a teenager I had weird dreams and started reading about lucid dreaming and dream experiments and actually welcomed it almost like I cursed myself forever now smh
What am i seeing right now?!?! This Comment is posted 4 months ago??

@Mariyam K oh
i’ve had sleep paralysis episodes since i was about 6 (i’m 19 now). it’s gotten to the point where i can wake myself out of it & sometimes see how long i can lay there without freaking out too much
Same! Now they are coming back for me n im freaking out again before I was kinda just use to it
I just had an episode and this video and the calmness in her voice is making me scared
Me: trying to relax, sleep, maybe lucid dream
My sleep paralysis: I’m boutta end this mans whole career
lmao
Bruh my guy u copy paste this comment every channel lucid dream video
What's up dude
I find your ads distasteful.
Your mother's strict has worked for me too
This is what just happened to me last night.
Nah the way you sound so calm is making this even scarier 😭
I always “close my eyes in my inner body” again and dream about sth fun that happened to me and try to relax and sleep again
I remember having a whole week of constant sleep paralysis, it got to the point where it wouldn’t scare me and it was more of an annoyance, almost like morning routine. Thankfully I haven’t had it in the past few months, but when it happens, my hearts beat increases but I know what’s going on. Pretty epic
THATS NOT EPIC
same!! its happening to me right now but i get it 1-2 times a night
Lol.

@@deepikachandra7857 am sorry.....
I only started to watch this channel today and it's already teaching me amazing things that I never knew before! Keep up the great work!
I always try saying "In Jesus name" even when I'm running out of breath it helps me wake up from SP and to feel safe
Yeah my first time i just called on for jesus, now i kinda feel like when my body goes into SP so i just wake up
I’m usually unable to speak….but I think Jesus and try to mouth His name as long as I can. It’s a horrible experience and it’s been going on over 40 years now.
@@AprilLashonwhy would God let us suffer so much under these sleep demons? It makes me not believe in a benevolent God
I can’t speak but I can imagine a cross taking up my vision but I keep my eyes closed . I had not experienced it at all 😭
Got sleep paraylisis 3× in a row at one night and the method i used to escape it is by
step 1: do not panicing.
Step 2: think of reality and try to harm yourself in your dream if you are really awake
Step 3: If you dont feel harm, try to make your self stressed as possible without scaring yourself
For example: Dont think of scary things. Burst out your exhale and try to burst vibrate your body. These makes me wake up in a sudden time
I had sleep paralysis during a lucid dream. It was hella scary and I hallucinated a lot the next day-

*Me sleeping in class
Teacher: Hey stop sleeping during class!
The sign in front of me: "I'm sorry. I'm having a sleep paralysis"
