5 and 6's magic systems are very customizable. You don't buy them, but you equip things to learn them. I'm FF7, you do buy them, but they earn their own EXP and grow in power. After they max out, they split and you get a while new one to equip.
@@notendopodcast I would highly recommend using 7th Heaven to play FF7 OG. They add so much, high resolution textures, 4K support, 60FPS, Ai upscaled cinematics, and now even voice acting. The remake is great in its own right, but I don't think it's a good substitute, more like an additional reimagining that fleshes out the experience. I think you'd appreciate the remake more if you gave the OG a chance. Take a look at some of the mod videos. They really modernize the experience and provide lots of QoL enhancements. I understand it's an old game and difficult to get into for more modern gamers. It is, however, very rewarding to experience.
