This is about the continuity of life, one baby is born and an old mother dies, this is by natural process. This song is about the miracle of life and death, which few people understand, and I mean no insult you still do not understand. It is a simple video and a beautiful song, please listen to it again and realize it is about two women and not one. Then maybe allow yourself to cry in the glory of the miracle.
As he says in the song the attention of her passing is transferred to the baby down the hall, such an intense song about life and all its changes one leaves one arrives. Ty for your hard work to keep us entertained as well as distracted in these mad times world wide. Keep Safe Keep Strong KSO
Such a wicked song. The first time I heard it I was getting a ride home from college classes in the winter of 1998. This song was playing and I asked my friend who the song was song by. She said it is Live. I said Cool, but who is the band? She said Live. I clued in, lol. In my defense it was -37°. Brain freeze defense.
The singer, Ed.. is a very spiritual human and a lot of his songs have that inspiration at their core.. I will suggest "Pain Lies By the Riverside" for another reaction..
Great song from a very underrated band. A good song from them to react to would be "Selling the Drama". You did miss the meaning of the song quite a bit. The song is about the continuity of life. While a woman dies in one room, a baby is born in another room. Life continues always despite death. The pale bald lady walking around is the angel referred to in the song.
I grew up in the 70s.. Loving bands and music from that era. Then the 80s came there were bands that I enjoyed from that era. 90S became difficult then I discover live... There are only two bands that came from this era that I have every album of.... live is one of them.
This song is so powerful! Glad you listened to it, K.S.O. And, if I may say, I miss it when you read the lyrics after listening to the song. I like that you watch the music videos more now. I'm sure that makes for more interesting TH-cam videos, but it is easy to get distracted by the visuals of what you're watching and miss some of the lyrics. I, for one, would be glad if you brought back the lyric-reading at the end of your videos. :-)
From the same album there are excellent songs to listen to, "I alone", "All over you", "White, discussion" and "Selling the drama". And from the later 1997 album, Secret Samahdi, the songs: "Freaks", "Turn my head" and "Lakini's juice".
Enjoyed your reaction :) there's something so powerful about this song it always makes me tear up despite not having any real personal experience with new life & death
I just want you to know I’m really loving seeing your perspective on music I’ve loved and listened to for decades. It feels like hearing them for the first time again.
My personal favorite band from The grunge era days. Sadly this band seems forgotten. No one listens to their songs I Alone, Lakini’s Juice or my top pick: Ghost.
This song is about reincarnation. "The confusion that's hers belongs now to the baby down the hall. "Lightning crashes ...when charge builds up in the sky and strikes the earth ....charge returning to Earth. Lightning is an energy that is being transferred from sky to earth and connects heaven and earth. He is using the analogy of lightning crashing to o explain the reincarnation process. A soul dies and that charge Or soul rises to heaven.... When it is called upon ....that charge or soul returns to earth ..."I can feel it coming back again" Hope this helps ...the lead singer Ed K was very into eastern philosophy and spirituality during this time. Their follow up album was Secret Samadhi ....Samadhi being a Sanskrit word for spiritual realisation. My favourite song I Alone is a hard song to interpret but there is something about that song that if it plays in the middle of the night and I'm asleep (I usually forget to switch the radio off"...it wakes me up. I jokingly call it the song that awakens the sleeper
The events you are describing actually happen in two different appartments in the same building. A new mother giving birth and an old mother dying. And the old mother's confusion 'belongs now to the baby down the hall' as one of the lines states. I think that pale person was the 'angel' that kept getting mentioned, and was probably the one doing all that handing out the confusion to the baby and stuff.
oh lord, time to cry. Can't help it. Both for the song itself, and then remembering the remix track that was played everywhere after Oklahoma City Bombings, where they played the 911 calls and news reports over this song. Just devastating. The two will always be linked for me.
A new mother cries. Down the hall, an old mother dies. Completely unrelated, except it's a hospital where people are born and die. This nonsense happens all the time. About as often as lightning crashes. Oh, you need the coins to pay the ferryman, Charon.
In my opinion, this is from one of THE best albums, from the 90's.
100%
absolutely
Yes! a number of singles hits plus great sleepers like Pillar of Davidson and T.B.D.
Agree!
You’re right and 90’s was the last decade of great music in my humble opinion.
That entire album is amazing from start to finish. An album that deserves more attention.
One the most definitive, and one of the best songs of the 90s.
That’s funny, I listened to a song of theirs I hadn’t listened to in about 20 years the other week. It was called ‘I Alone’, I recommend it :)

"Throwing Copper" is a great album. Lots of emotion.
Love this band have been a fan since day one & saw them in concert many times, Ed has a powerful voice
In time, this will be , and is one of the greatest songs of all.. time.
As he says in the song the attention of her passing is transferred to the baby down the hall, such an intense song about life and all its changes one leaves one arrives. Ty for your hard work to keep us entertained as well as distracted in these mad times world wide.
Keep Safe Keep Strong KSO
I heard this song in passing many years ago, and had forgotten about it till just now. Moving piece. Nice reaction 🎶
Growing up, I didn't hear much rock music, but this, along with Losing My Religion by REM were my favorite rock songs in elementary school 😄

“Who’s on First?” 🤣😊 Funny story!
The bald girl was ‘the angel’ the song is about death, birth and the circle life

This was a great album. Every song was very intense. My favorite was "Leave some change behind. "
" Waitress " was the title. But yeah, great album.
Dolphin's Cry is another great Live song, along with all the ones from Throwing Copper.
You should check out "The Dolphin's Cry" one of my favorite songs from this band. Also, "I Alone" was a big radio hit as well.

They charted for 20 something weeks and have a gold and a platinum album how high rated do you want them to be?

This song makes me cry, I don't know how you got through it. Very intense.
It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, even after hundreds of listens. Never fails.
Real human art!. Was underrated back then because it was too real, would be not accepting now for that different reason. Beautiful song !!!man!

Immediately heard those songs in my head. Great ones.
Forgot about this band. Loved them
Extremely powerful song....................................it carries a lot of water.
Enjoyed your reaction :) there's something so powerful about this song it always makes me tear up despite not having any real personal experience with new life & death
I always have a cathartic cry when I listen to this .. and watch the video
It is the circle of life (before Elton John sang it literally). An old Mother dies, the confusion that was hers belongs now to the baby down the hall.
MY FAVE SONG. hOPE YOU LOVE IT TOO, IT'S ABOUT REBIRTH!
"All over you" by Live!
This!
A song about birth and death at the same time .. .. the average person wont understand it ..
Epic epic thought-provoking 90 song love it love you
Remember first hearing this in the 90s and knew it was an immediate classic
I love this song and the video is great, too. Thanks for this reaction!
Absolutely love this song, have since I was in middle school when it came out.
I just want you to know I’m really loving seeing your perspective on music I’ve loved and listened to for decades. It feels like hearing them for the first time again.

Circle of life. Every minute of every day, there are some being born, and some who die. And, so on.
This song is about reincarnation. "The confusion that's hers belongs now to the baby down the hall. My favorite song of theirs is "The River"
This is one of my all time favorite songs and all time favorite bands.
I'd love if you did Mental Jewelery by Live

Are there any bad "Live" songs? This was the first one I heard and got me hooked for life.
Great song! Really deep lyrics! Powerful!
Thank you for this a very special time in my life love your reactions

Like 9-11, the Oklahoma City bombings were not what the government/ media narratives conveyed.
Great reaction. This is an awesome song, about the circle of life, based on a true story btw, a friend of his
Very talented band.
my mom died when i was in highschool. she died from cancer and looked just like the angel bald and everything. the video makes me cry :(
The Dolphin's cry
The circle of life.
Death just beyond. Life just outside of the death waiting it.
The Greeks put coins on the dead peoples eyes to pay the ferryman that took you across the river Styx to the underworld of the dead.
KSO, both the mother and grandmother died...
Great view of the video! Awesome song!
😁👍
Talk about a 90s band. I got Garbage coming. !Can’t wait till my hunni reviews them !
Such a tough subject to grapple with.
Lakinis Juice, I Alone, All Over You, beauty of grey

Man, grunge days were the best days to grow up. hahaha
Operation Spirit, Selling the Drama
❤️🥳😭
Love this one!
Reincarnation....such a sad song. I love it though!!
lo has explicado muy bien 💟💟💟💟
Life, transferring from a dying woman down the hall into the newborn baby.
Selling the drama is another good song by then
The cycle of life....
Before modern medicine, it was not uncommon for mothers to die during birth. The circle of life.
Slightly forgotten alt-rockers from the 1990s. Never was the biggest fan, but they have some fantastic tracks.
Aurora please!
