READY!
Hello Ola ...
I'm ready too!!! Hi from Italy
Ola the waiterer!
Hail to the King "Ola the string melting god"
But will fatal tragedy Chug?
6:00 Mangini just casually drops an insane drum fill/mini solo so Jordan can grab his newest weapon for the Beast Mode part
I always prefer musicianship > showmanship. But man, I liked that fill on its own, but got completely bamboozled when Jordan had already switched to the Keytar... this is what makes live shows special, those small surprises :)
The length his arms must travel between those top octobans and toms though :)
While the fill was a nice surprise, it would've been completely unnecessary had Jordan solo'ed on they keytar all the way through the instrumental section. Not like he couldn't, technique-wise, and not like his keytar doesn't have an expression controller on the handle. Also it would've made it a bad-ass duel-like thing with Petrucci. But oh well.
@@pike666db Nah, you don't know what you're talking about
@@maximummatt73 maybe. Having gone to over 200 live shows of well known bands and over 1000 live shows in my life, being an amateur musician myself, I'd like to think I have a pretty good idea of what I am talking about.
Also, as a DT fan of the 90s and 00s, having been privileged enough to see them live, once in every keyboardist era, I've always thought they seemed bored on stage and wished for more stage presence. That comment above about showmanship < musicianship is very true, but there's got to be a balance.
I stand by what I said and will respectfully agree to disagree, since it's your post and you're king of the castle. Drum fill was nice.
Mike Mangini 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Gonna miss Mangini when he showed true class and professional drumming in DT: no overplaying, consistent tempos, the intense musical dialogs with the others and accenting what they're playing. DT felt like an organic (i.e. unforced by any single ego), cohesive band when MM was around. I wish DT never dumped him or even limited his musical creativity as written on that contract or whatever deal stating that he should not play all of Portnoy's roles, but oh well, the sands of time have fallen.
Yes. Mike Mangini is a great artist
Hear hear!!
They wrote my all time favorite body of music in those 13 years.
I'll be forever thankful and grateful to have experienced it. I had hoped to sear it since 2002 when I picked a Mullmuzzler album with where Mike was drumming for James.
I really like Portnoy these days, but I hope somehow Mangini returns.
I don't know what is this, but Fatal Tragedy is one of my top songs ever.
Same here, love the solos
This is a video from their upcoming live album.
Because all album is awesome.

@@franciscomenano9900 obviously i listened to it dozens of times. I even play some on piano. What I didn't know was about this premiere and its title

Hahahahahh great ccomment
This is one of their best songs. It has it all.
As good as it gets. Right there at the top of the heap!
The whole album is a masterpiece. The best they’ve ever made.
Hell yes bro
It does have it all. Bye.
Damn, Johnn Myung does some incredible bass lines in this song... That last unison part with Jordan Rudess on the keytar, just amazing... Long Live The Prog Kings !!!!
Once again Myung is the most under-mixed bass virtuoso in Prog.
Myung is literally a nonstop lead guitarist in disguise.. I don't think anybody can be faster than him actually :D
It really pays off to teach your ear how to listen for bass in music. Back when I was young, I missed every genius thing that Flea did in RHCP when he wasn't playing a lead role in the song. Now with DT and Haken, listening for the bass parts enhances the song so much. Bass is really an underappreciated instrument, especially considering how someone who knows what they're doing with it, like Myung, can change the song entirely.
@@RyanxDunn Happy to see you mentioned Haken; Connor Green is awesome.
@@steverkw you really have to "look" for him. I don't like it one bit
Its fun to finally hear this song played with a stable tempo live.
hahaha so true
He overplays so much though and with no dynamics here

3:06 Mangini’s technique it’s impressive
I hate people shitting on James, he's 58 and he's still smashing these songs! Singing his heart out every show. Were you not allowed to stand at this show? Must be so awkward head banging and sitting down.

Oh and he s a great drummer to.
Even with the construction guy-goggles on? Love the guys playing but rockstar level 0,5.
I’ve been a drummer for 28 years, Mangini is probably one of the top 5 drummers in the world (look at his resume) it was kinda disappointing listening to MP (who is a great drummer, just not in the same league as Mangini) playing this song and just skipping some of the double bass patterns live. Mangini is an absolute beast.

My God Petrucci s sounds is soo Heavy and yet so Clear

Funny how Mike just played a drum solo to let Jordan put his keytar on.
Está parte não tinha na gravação original de estúdio; esse mini-silo foi só para dar tempo para o Jordan colocar a Keytar e fazer a parte uníssono do final.
