About Frieren's age: Just based on what we've learned so far in the show, we know that she is older than 1000 - BUT we also know that she is younger than 2000, since she said she's spent "most her life" suppressing her mana, which she started doing at Flamme's suggestion about 1000 years ago. My guess would be 1200 - 1300 years old, given that she was fairly young and inexperienced when Flamme first met her, but old enough to recognize how short the lifespan of humans is - and also old enough to be a competent mage already, since she was able to defeat the demons that attacked her village, even if just barely.
@@Airwave2k2 It's not really math when I'm just guessing - just on what information we've seen and been told so far, she could be any age between 1100 and 1999 🤔
@@LadyDoomsinger Not even, only if we take literally that statement about most of her life. What if it's just a saying and she considers her life started when meeting Flamme and disregards her village life even if it might have been very long?? It's unclear on purpose. I doubt we'll ever get a clear number because she doesn't even know it.
@@LadyDoomsinger Frieren also mentions how the ten years she spent with the hero's party was a mere 1/100th of her life so I think your guess that she is a bit over a thousand years old is a solid one.
at 5:37 I love when she always says the same words and puts the same smile expression when she wants to show up something that she thinks is very cool or impressive (like the potion that dissolves only fabric) she is so cute 😍
If I had to guess, it is possible to cast without a staff at hand, but it’s likely an advanced skill, so not all mages can do it, so they become defenseless without the staff.
In Mushoku tensei for example, you can cast without staff but it's less effective. Some really powerful spells are so strong, you need a staff to even channel them.
8:09 Lots of people are "predicting" she and Fern will fight, but the reason why she and Fern can't fight is the 2nd rule to pass the test: all 3 members must be present in the next day sunset. So....if anything it's good that she and Fern are in the same party LOL Ubel WANTS to pass, she's not here to fail again
@@zigazdovc6175 i'm sorry...when exactly? Can you tell me the chapter in which this happens? I genuinely don't even remember them 2 to even meet each other
about Übel the shady mage girl and the Bandits I'm guessing she provokes bandits like present as defenseless/easy "prey" so they provoke her so she has an excuse
We dont really need to worry about Ubel with Fern, at least in this stage of the exam. One of the conditions to pass is to have all party members present so it won't be to Ubel's advantage to put any of her teammates in danger.
Ubel is interesting, even if she killed people, we never knew much yet, as Kraft said he didn't blame her. Those were bandits, maybe they almost did something bad and she simply defended herself?! And before, we never knew about the first class mage's personality or the story behind the exam that time... the benefit of doubt is her reasons of doing them maybe. Just to emphasize, they must pass with 2 conditions : 1. capture Stille bird, 2. all party members must be present. [leaving barrier/testing area, entire party failed the test]. Simply as reminder for upcoming arc... ~ love all the Frieren's expressions when they start fighting, haha...
The "Incredible Mage" comment and how she handled it now versus 80 years ago clearly displays how far she has come from casually hurting people with cruel facts to just warmly embracing people's kindness.

Apparently Fern was the youngest mage ever to complete the third class exam with top marks. What a prodigy! I love that for her😊

I live for Frieren's "Pretty cool, right?" face.
Mages can cast without their staff, we've even seen Frieren kill a demon with her bare hands
Yeah, i think its just the usual purpose to amplify and speed up the spell.
@@teguhlg I also think some spells like Zoltraak can't be used without a staff

Frieren is young by elf standards. Kraft called her young last time we saw him.

Fern killed a demon that Frieren didn’t even kill I wouldn’t worry about her
"Übel" in german means bad, really bad. It can also mean sick, when you´re about to throw up 😬
So, I guess, that girl means trouble.
Übel can also used for a greater evil ... Diablo for example has "Die drei großen Übel": Diablo, Mephisto and Baal.
