I really love Monkeylords. They're so cheap and quick to build, compared to other experimentals, and they just have so much utility. So you see them more often because of how easy they are to make, and they look awesome and they function awesomely, and I just really love 'em. Probably the most cost-effective experimental in my view as someone who's played a grand total of 4 whole games of multiplayer FA against friends. Clearly a very informed, expert opinion.

But right now, it will have a 3950x with an x570 board and a nvidia 2080 along with 32 gb ram. Oh and I'll just stick it in Nzxt's h710 case. Some parts are tricky to get right now because of the virus going around, they are either out of stock or massively overpriced so I'm waiting for some parts. But I don't mind. The 3080 card rumors keep going around but I have no idea when details with be officially announced for that.

The 3950x is an awesome CPU though, I got a 3700X in that lineup and going to switch to Zen 3 when it comes out, giving my current rig to a friend while also going bonkers on the hardware. Then I hope I'll be fine for the next 5 years :D

I actually bought it 15 years ago (I can't believe it's been that long already) but my pc at the time couldn't run it LOL and I never really got into building or buying my own pc until now, I always spent my money on other hobbies like doing mods on my car and buying camera gear etc etc. I've still followed up on sup com and forged alliance all these years, watching casts and learning how the game and every single unit works while not actually playing it (to be fair, I have played it a couple times on other systems), but I figured why not get the game and play it after doing my build. I do plan to be an active member of faf as I always liked rts games in general.

This games (and replays) replays are amazing. General Supreme Commander situation: At 5 minutes it is clear that Team 1 will win. At 5 minutes, there is no way that Team one can win. At 10 minutes, half of the Team 2 is dead and Team 1 needs one last hit to win. At 15 minutes, there are only 2 players left with player from Team 1 controlling 99% of area, 4 experimentals vs 1 T1 engineer. One more minutes and it is done! And you look at the video time, to see that there is one more hour of fighting :D
Someone rewatch and shift+ctrl after the third to last player dies to see how much reclaim is on the field? Also, @Gyle, I would find that an impactful thing to do sometimes (i.e. "look at how much reclaim is on the field -- it's this much: #####").

Is there a reason barely anyone builds air staging facilities in FAF? I mean if I have a bunch of heavily damaged strats, isn't repairing them cheaper than rebuilding them?
@@Bisby118 Totally agree! He shoud've rushed T3 land or build T3 gunships to help his teammates. Also the nuke launcher wus such a bad idea... especially in these team games i feel like the cost of a nuke and launcher are better invested in a proper offensive supported by a T4.

The custom game rank doesn't mean anything. A normal 1,5 k rated player would have shaved most players seen in this one. Sadly there are way too many custom games with low effort maps like dual gap, astro crater, gap of rohan and so on. those maps encourage gamestyles which make you become a bad player on every other map whilst getting totally overrated due to easy victories. People should play maps like the one seen here more often and with less palyers (3v3 or 2v2). It is way more challenging but you will become very good at the game over time and be able to pull off complicated plays.

It's surprisingly easy to get cocky when you think you are winning. Team 2 had a lot more eco and were successfully pushing all the way across the map... but sadly all that eco was dumped into things that didn't have the mobility and numbers to stop T4.
i used to play this game non stop back in the day and the alliance one. number 2 was oook, then the planet ones were way to arcadey. Up to this point NO game has ever been made to touch this game! I wish so bad this game could be remastered- reboot etc
Havent watched yet , but that thumbnail alone makes me want to write a short story for it , in a supcom universe where theres a reason for it to be half maned by human staff ....imagen walking along a maintance cat walk on the outside of the tactical missile defense silo...and suddenly having a alarm both in your implant ,aswell of the installation itself...and seeing the moutain sized artility piece 'nearby' starting to move for emergency rapid fire response..or such... ^^ , thats the sort of thumbnail pic that in the 'olden days' XD could be the catalyst giving a game a shoot at becoming cult.
bit new here, but why it seems everyone ignore t1 point defense and stationary antiar at the beginning of the game near the main base? those aren't expensive but often able to deal or help to deal with early rushes
@@GyleCast technically it is map control especially if placed not far from frontlines. Are turrets cost inefficient? If you like 90 % sure that they will shot somene are they inferior to mobile units?

Better to use it in a reactionary manner and plough resources into weapons you can use offensively and defensively.
wow, amazing people playing this still. I remember when first came out. It never really got the attention it should had, but guess it was to complex for the standard gamers... Also, you got like 27minutes of nothing at end of the vid.
Even on bad CPUs like mine you can play small simple 3v3 maps, the more important thing is a solid internet connection. You definitely want a good computer for the larger and more interesting maps.

This single threaded game will then only run in slow motion! One of my last games was over 3 days and the internal playing time was just 1h15min. Benchmarks would simply be interesting:]

SC2 is an awesome game. It's just not SC1. Honestly the unit pathing in 2 is so much better it makes me frustrated when I play 1.
SC2 is a really good RTS game. Probably my top 3 favorite. It is not a good Supreme Commander sequel.

There is 2 types of rating, for 1 vs 1, and custom games. And by the way, comunity is great, it more depends on people you play with.

Resources spent defending your base are resources not spent killing the enemy or securing map control. IE the best form of defence is attack.

that is anti-spoiler. That way you dont know when the match actually ends... keeping you in the dark. It is done on purpose.

afaik it's an nvidia driver bug, you should roll back a couple versions. There is also a mod in the FAF mod vault that should fix it in theory.

@@JazzNazz1 as long as the cpu is potent it will run sup com smoothly - the gpu requirements are ridiculously low ( my GPU always idles around 10-30%)
Max Mustermann it’s an ASUS running a Ryzen 7 I always forget did supreme commander make much use of multi core processors or was it just displays?
You'll be fine. I have an ancient Lenovo IdeaPad Y410P that runs supcom on max just fine. Plus SupCom isn't getting any younger compared to computer tech getting smaller and more powerful every day.
