new saga coming soon !! im crawling on the walls with excitment because the next saga has some of my favourite songs ! definitely expect to see me more often over here 💃🏻
The contrast between Odysseus's past portrayed in mist and his future portrayed in fire is so potent! And the way his hands shake at the end? Devastating.
THANK U !! yea i wanted the like second part thats picturing his future to be more like IN HIS FACE since he wssnt rlly getting the prophets point in the first half 😭
Something crazy I noticed: The prophet never looks directly at Odysseus throughout the entire song, until the final "You" which only makes the eye contact that much more terrifying and resonant to the story. 10/10!
I'm loving the use of a blank expression in the eyes (as well as the blank-ness of the pupils) for Tiresias instead of other animatics' glowing eyes! Amazing work, underrated!
yess i imagine him as more older looking - the voice does sound like a younger guy so i definitely see how that could also play a part on his design, but i feel like an older-looking design captures his vibe more for me !!
so i looooove the smoke/fire prophecys, but my favorite is tireseas's design and movements. he actually looks nd acts like a blind old man! his eyes dont focus ("staring" into the distance), not even on the final "you": they're just looking in odysseus's direction. they also shake! i feel like glowing eyes can be a copout, but i like how you went for more of a cataract-y look here. i like how he rarely faces odysseus directly either, like he's not even listening to odysseus's questions, just telling his oracles.
DUDEEE i dont know if this was intentional but I love how you made Teresias' eyes shake! It reminds me of how blind people's eyes actually shake since they don't have the ability maintain steady eye positions.
Oh my GOD I think I found my new favourite No Longer You. I ADORE how unsettling your Tiresias, how unfocused his eyes are and how he never actually directly looks at Ody until the very end when he sees the monster. LOVE IT.
Tiresia has that dead fish eye stare and it's so creepy but also so accurate also i love how u portrayed the profecy, like it interacts with odysseus and lol finally someone anymated this late enough to put eurilochus opening the bag lol
This version of the prophet was terrifying! (In the best way!) And the way you utilized smoke and fire to tell the story was brilliant, and and so much fun to watch!
I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate you drawing the past visions in the first chorus and future events in the next one! It is exactly how I imagined it being! I loooove how beautiful your animatic is! AAAaaaaaa I have no words!!!
Most of the "I see.." lines have double meanings! I shall explain them for you curious ppl! Song Of Past Romance: This line refers to the life Odysseus lived before the war, where he was happy with Penelope. It also foreshadows the siren disguised as Penelope. Sacrifice Of Man: This refers to the death of Polites in Survive (Rip). It also refers blatantly to how Odysseus sacrifices six men to Scylla so his crew can get past. Portrayals of Betrayal: This line refers to Eurylochus opening the wind bag, and how Odysseus betrayed Eurylochus' trust after the whole sacrificing to Scylla thing. Brother's Final Stand: This is one of three lines that have only one meaning, and this one refers to the battle between Eurylochus and Odysseus in Mutiny. On The Brink Of Death: This refers to Odysseus barely surviving Poseidon's slaughter of most of his crew, and also how he almost died but lived after Zeus killed his remaining men. Though it could also be interpreted as him about to enter the underworld. Draw Your Final Breath: Another line with one meaning, this refers to how he draws the final breath of the man he was before, learning to "be the monster" at the end of act 1. A Man Who Gets to Make It Home Alive, But It's No longer You: The final line with one meaning, this refers to how he will be a changed man by the time he gets home.
@@DinoGeekLOL oooo thats such a good breakdown of the lyrics :00 the song of past romance foreshadowing the sirens makes so much sense but i wouldve never guessed it tbh !!! thanks for sharing ❤️ ^-^
Thinking about it but couldn't the Sacrifice of Man for the past part of the vision be when Astyanax was thrown from the wall? That would then make the Brother's Final Stand for the past part be the death of Polites. Of course the issue with that interpretation of the lyrics is that you'd have to ignore the fact that Polite's death occurs before Eurylochus's betrayal.
AMAZING OMG! I got into this musical in the last week HARDDD! And have watched like 40 videos of animations to songs and this one is one of the best!! Good job I love the eye! And the fire part the best ngl!

aaa tysm!! i really did want to make it feel as if hes just staring into the abyss -
I love how gaunt Tiresias’ features are, where as most animatics depict him as more youthful.

The first time he songs the chorus it's things that happened already but the second time it's things in the future! That's so cool-
yasss, cookie for u pointing that out 🍪
Finally, an animatic where Tiresias is an old man

The smoke and fire animation was so consistently clean and well animated, it’s clear how much work you put into it ❤❤❤
aaa thank you so much!! im rlly proud of how that part came out so im glad u like it too!! ^_^

JAJSJA the smoke is like "im fast as fuck boiii"
Absolutely love the physics/texture of the mist/smoke/clouds around Tiresias! They really made the scene ooze with tension!
