Finally got it to work - needed to use the "Do something with the USB stick" method (copied a music file) and then the 1b.hex file appeared. After that, all straight forward. Thanks for the tips!

Hello, thank you for the video. I followed your instructions, and the CIC took the update until 100%. However, after rebooting, it continues to reboot continuously. The radio works for a few minutes and then restarts again. It’s been about two weeks now with non-stop rebooting. What do you think the solution is? Best regards
I have a question, please. Mine is a 2011 520D with Move maps and CIC. When I download and extract, the folder name is "road map Europe West" but when I plug into the port, it does not detect or show any prompts. The stick is 16GB, formatted to FAT32. Can you please help?
Excellent video. Tried to update my original 2011 BMW 328i Premium map to 2022 NA Premium map. I was able to proceed to the step with a USB stick containing 6 files at (1:26/2:49). However, the "Start update" at (1:40/2:49) did not come on per your procedure, the Navigation seems not respond at all. Can you shed light on how the navigation system detect a later version of map pending? Does FSC.bat play a role in initiating the update? Thanks.
Problem solved. My map data was found corrupted. After correcting the root cause the screen prompts me "Start update" quickly, and overall process is about 75 minutes.

Hey i have a 2009/9 E91 LCI (Road Map EU Motion 2009-2) with CIC Mid and no matter how many Usb (fat32) i try the usb just wont pull the 1b.hex file tried it with 4gb 16gb 32gb all fat32. Is there any other way or any tips? Am i doing sth wrong? Key is in slot and Ignition On.

Hello, I copied the files from "1b" to the stick, put the stick in the car in the glove box, waited about 40 seconds and took out the stick but the other two files did not appear. My car is BMW E92 2009 with CIC navigation from the factory. What should be the problem? I tried with 3 usb sticks, on none of them do those 2 extra files appear after I insert the stick into the glove box.

I have a 2011 f10. The patcher worked, rebooted the CIC but did not generate a 1b file. It grayed out the nav button as well. Tried with many different USBs and tried uploading music from the USB as well. Any ideas on how I can activate nav again?
Hey. FSC generator from your link gives options for a maps only to 2021. At yours given link I can find East Europe 2023 premium. It is no problem that I will use 2023 maps to USB but take a code from FSC gen. with 2021? Thanks. Im so close to finish! Its amazing!

Hi , are there two ways of updating maps ? Do we just pick which option we want take…so the way you showed us and the other way is through esys . Connect to vehicle-read FSC and then save it . Launch CIC generator and import the FSC which was saved my esys .

Did everything you did but downloaded the nz/Australia maps and when I get to the point where you selected premium, it doesn’t matter what I select it won’t come up with the maps I downloaded

I haven't been able to update the map on the CIC_C1A unit for a while now. The update menu opens, but it does not accept the generated FSC code. The previous owner of the car had the CCC unit replaced with a CIC unit. Unfortunately, the VIN number of the old vehicle is recorded in the CIC module. I can use VINKFP, but I think it is difficult to change the VIN number in the CIC unit. The suggestion you can give me when you are available is very important. Thank you very much in advance. If someone is having problems generating the FSC-file. This is what worked for me. I have an F30 335i 2012. First attempt to generate the FSC-file failed from putting in USB-stick before turning on ignition. Then i first put ignition on, waited for 1 minute. Then put USB in glovebox. Wait for 1 minute again. That worked for me. I am currently copying the map files to mu USB-stick.

First time i insert my usb stick didint get any fsc copied into it..this is the tricky part...i copy an mp3 song into it and let the head unit player play the song for awhile from usb stick in order to let the system interact with the usb stick.then bingo...fsc code sucessfully copied to my usb stick..

Glad, that it worked for you. Maybe your car was installed with a lifetime code. The maps are database are uploaded by someone else, so I cannot take credits for that.. hahaha
Hi I have a problem where when I start the fsc generator program it doesnt download the two lookup files just one thats empty, everything else works just because of this there are no regions and maps to choose from and it won't let me generate a code :(
If it doesn't work try with another usb stick. Since your region map size is so large, I would suggest using a bigger capacity usb stick and format to fat32

Figured out. So it seems that the previous owner has changed the navigation main board, he put it from another car so bassically i don;t know that car's VIN ... si bye-bye. Upgraded to android anyways ...Hope it clears up for u guys @@kiritok1032

Did you plug the usb into the glovebox usb port? That's the only port that can work

Had the same hassle, try to upload 1 or more songs to ur HDD then the 1b will be there mate
Install the maps files first (pkgdb folder & config.nfrm) in the usb sticks, it will trigger the car to install the 1b.hex file

You might want to reconsider revert back to the old version or try reinstalling again

Make you plug into the correct USB port of the car and if that doesn't work try another USB stick

You need to start your car engine for the last step. Hope this helps. As for FSC.bat the files in there could be for initiating the update

I'm not sure if your model USB location is the same as my X1. If it's on the wrong USB slot it won't work

Make sure to copy the 2 files to the root of your usb stick and also be sure your usb stick is formated to fat32

How to do it if you need the NBT? Mine doesn't generate the CIC because it's NBT
NBT won't work. Check the video description as I listed the BMW models that comes with CIC

Won't work for F15 X5 as it's using NBT iDrive 5. For F15 needs to generate FSC code using E-SYS

Yes, you can do it via e-sys too. But I do not have the e-sys at the moment to show the steps by steps

Did everything you did but downloaded the nz/Australia maps and when I get to the point where you selected premium, it doesn’t matter what I select it won’t come up with the maps I downloaded

I haven't been able to update the map on the CIC_C1A unit for a while now. The update menu opens, but it does not accept the generated FSC code. The previous owner of the car had the CCC unit replaced with a CIC unit. Unfortunately, the VIN number of the old vehicle is recorded in the CIC module. I can use VINKFP, but I think it is difficult to change the VIN number in the CIC unit. The suggestion you can give me when you are available is very important. Thank you very much in advance. I'm not sure which tools can be used to change the VIN number that's coded for the CIC unit
North America maps is greater than 20GB. How do you get it onto a USB drive?
I'm using South East Asia map which works fine for me

Make sure USB stick are formatted with FAT32 or try another USJ stick
I have downloaded EUROPE WEST NEXT 2023-1 but the fsc generator goes only up to EUROPE WEST NEXT 2022-2. How to get the correct fsc?
I am guessing we have to wait for the fsc generator to update 1st

You need to go use the idrive then select navigation and look for the version. It will show what map type for your car

I couldn't get 1b.hex file with engine turned off.. I tried several USBs but no luck. Then I started engine a I get 1b.hex in a few seconds :)

If someone is having problems generating the FSC-file. This is what worked for me.
I have an F30 335i 2012.
First attempt to generate the FSC-file failed from putting in USB-stick before turning on ignition.
Then i first put ignition on, waited for 1 minute. Then put USB in glovebox. Wait for 1 minute again. That worked for me. I am currently copying the map files to mu USB-stick.

Now i just need to figure out how to update software on the CIC aswell. BMW update site is not giving me anything. Just says error when typing in VIN.

Good evening, I tried on X6 activehybrid 2011 E71/72 CIC imported from Japan with Road Map Japan PREMIUM 2016 but at the stage of launching the update no action, the config does not launch and therefore no code requested.
-Key formatted in FAT32
-1b.hex recovered and ok VIN code
-FSC code successfully generated

I tried with Japan spec to no avail...uk spec works smothly
First time i insert my usb stick didint get any fsc copied into it..this is the tricky part...i copy an mp3 song into it and let the head unit player play the song for awhile from usb stick in order to let the system interact with the usb stick.then bingo...fsc code sucessfully copied to my usb stick..

Hi! Thx for the good work😀 I just did the map update and it all worked fine. But for some reason i did not need to use the code it just skipped that part, and if i go to version it says nothing. But all seems to worke though. Any chance u will continue and give us maps 😊
Glad, that it worked for you. Maybe your car was installed with a lifetime code. The maps are database are uploaded by someone else, so I cannot take credits for that.. hahaha

Hi I have a problem where when I start the fsc generator program it doesnt download the two lookup files just one thats empty, everything else works just because of this there are no regions and maps to choose from and it won't let me generate a code :(

If my pen USB is formated to fat32 the file of the map have 17 gb my pen usb 32 but in fat32 it not transfeer
If it doesn't work try with another usb stick. Since your region map size is so large, I would suggest using a bigger capacity usb stick and format to fat32

You check what type of version your car came pre-installed with. Do check your default map version

Figured out. So it seems that the previous owner has changed the navigation main board, he put it from another car so bassically i don;t know that car's VIN ... si bye-bye. Upgraded to android anyways ...Hope it clears up for u guys @@kiritok1032
