Ah the cybertron duology. WAR was a great start and Fall´s only shortcoming was the incredibly limited character selection during the campaign. While necessary because of its more scripted design not being able to play your favorites stung(especially because...no Shockwave mission?what the heck?the Soundwave mission also was far too short). Remember having a good time with Fall´s multiplayer as well, the class system was interesting(if hopelessly unbalanced). Also yeet Starscream, all praise Lord Galvatron.
YOU may not like it, but it doesn't change the FACT that the IP owner Hasbro wanted Full Moon removed from the project so they were put on Deadpool and the third game of the Trilogy was given to another studio who Hasbro approved of. Hasbro also required that the Cybertron games and the movie timelines be merged into one timeline. Rise of the Dark Spark isn't anywhere near as good as War and Fall but its also nowhere near the level of "bad" that some special people constantly cry about.
I like that transformers the game brought all the memorable designs: Trypticon, Metroplex, Grimlok, everyone. It's like re-living your childhood all over again.
It's also the 40th anniversary of the franchise btw. Studio Trigger did a crazy good animation to commemorate it. Also shoutout to the 2004, Armada game on the PS2 which this series took a lot of design cues from.
Fall of Cybertron is one of the few games I've ever played that captures "Everything is FUCKED and we RUINED EVERYTHING and we are LEAVING" vibe extremely well. It threads the needle of a dour universe while also having a glimmer of hope in the Ark. I'd look to see what became of cybertron after everyone leaves, but hot holy fuck that wiki.
I, too, thought a Transformers/Warhammer 40K crossover would be WILD, even if the chances of it happening are slim. Optimus Prime: "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." Any Imperium Guy: * Foams at the mouth * *"HERESY!"*
Yeah that's another part to think about. As cool as Poppa Smurf Optimus Prime would be I don't think that Bobby G could convince Optimus and the autobots that humanity *hasn't* evolved into the kind of monsters that would give even Megatron pause.
@@percher4824 People keep saying that, but I think the opposite. AdMech would take one look at the Cybertronians and scream, "XENOS ABOMINABLE INTELLIGENCE!? KILL IT! KILL IT! SEND OUR TITANS AND BONDED KNIGHT HOUSES!"

Great video!! I personally have a special place in my heart for the first two cybertron games (not dark spark lol) mainly because they were childhood favorites of mine. They may have even been the first games i ever played, and i sometimes go and replay them to this day. They're still so much fun. I know it's technically a part of the trilogy, but I just act like The Dark Spark is not connected to fall or war because of how bad it is and how much it contradicts the series. It's the core example of a game that just shouldn't exist imo. but rambling aside, i loved the video! And i can't wait for your Devastation video! ❤
"The TFWiki is one of the few place on the internet with bigger, more complexe pages than the 40KWiki" And please note that the story which recount the basis of most TF mythos about Primus and Unicron was a Furmanism afterthought that Hasbro didn't even care to object about. They just stealth dropped Optimus Prime's model at the end of a teaser for the new official Dungeons and Dragons TTRPG thingy, timing is fun with all these hasbro properties.

I wouldnt call the MP "tacked on", the MP was incredible while it was alive. You coukd customize your bots parts and colors, make clones of your favs basically or invent your own. They're fiddly, but those Gamer Editions are actually some of the simpler transformations in the Studio Series line. Thanks for prompting me to try Fall of Cybertron again though, since I stopped my replay of those games halfway through War because it felt kind of padded out...
I love War for Cybertron, despite being such a Gee-Wunner that I dislike any talk of sparks and Primus (gimme that Primon and Quintesson origin from "The Five Faces of Darkness," any day). Luckily, I got my copy on Steam a few years before it was delisted, and thus, can play it on my PC, while running ReShade (for vibrancy and clarity), and a third-party aspect ratio app. I even taught myself a lot about old Unreal Engine console variables to maximize the graphics beyond the project defaults. Good stuff. That said, I absolutely hate the Autobot turret level. It's so cursed. It feels like one of those nightmares where you can't move when you try to run.
+1 for a series on games that have been delisted or simply forgotten due to licensing issues from the PS3/360 era. The X-men Origins: Wolverine game is great and is essentially abandonware due to being delisted for a decade.

In regards to the "They are definitely remastering these games" hopes - recently it was leaked that Microsoft is working on 2 Transformers titles, and Microsoft now owns Activision/Blizzard. Still not proof but it has a lot of people hopeful
the DOTM game is a prequel to the movie and has no story relation to the cybertron games. It's pretty good though its short its essentially FoC with a Michael Bay skin
I still have the digital PS4 Fall of Cybertron on my console. It's fucking gone from the stores with everything else, man. I want to play Devastation again so bad but the physical copies are so expensive, I loved that game.
Man I hate the licensing issues with these games. I am actually trying to sell my PS3 but I refuse to sell/part with my copy of FoC. That thing was my first real multiplayer shooter that got me through a bad bout of walking pneumonia type B where I could barely get off the couch for a week. Fun fact about the aligned continuity! It failed! Because Hasbro pulled a Hasbro and didn't facilitate communication between the makers of its different parts. We have such fun things like Soundwave in Transformers Prime having the lore of having taken a vow of silence during the war because all of the minicons he partnered with - only he is talking and has more than just Laserbeak days before the exodus. Or the fact that way more than 3 Autobots escaped on The Arc but "Team Prime" consists of only 5 members (Arcee and Cliffjumper got to Earth by commandeering Shockwave's space bridge after escaping capture)
This is going to sound crude, but the thing that must always be taken into consideration is: Hasbro does not give a sh!t about its properties. It'll fight tooth and nail to keep them in the portfolio. But actually doing anything with them? Ha. You've got to look at the company as a whole. For the last few years, the company's seeming focus has been Wizard's of the Coast. They're currently trying to convince their D&D customers that AI/ML can be used to replace DMs. It's going about as well as their attempt to modify the OGL. Professional opinion: I think Hasbro is happy to keep Transformers in a holding pattern. Outlay capital within reason while avoiding anything that involves having to (re-)negotiate licenses(eg releasing "old" games), or risks the fanbase getting tetchy. Effectively: Let the property generate profit with little to no interference or inputs to keep the shareholders happy.
So I have a ps4 disc copy of rise of the dark spark that I would be 100% down to send if you ever wanted to go back and cover it. I remember it being at least decent to play but it was a *while* ago that I last played it so it could have been my teenager brain being dumb
