Fall of Cybertron is one of the few games I've ever played that captures "Everything is FUCKED and we RUINED EVERYTHING and we are LEAVING" vibe extremely well. It threads the needle of a dour universe while also having a glimmer of hope in the Ark. I'd look to see what became of cybertron after everyone leaves, but hot holy fuck that wiki.
If I remember right, technically ever scene of Cybertron from the Transformers Prime series was the closest to seeing post-leaving, since the games and the show were meant to be in the same 'Alligned' continuity Also, semi-related, there's no scene in that continuity of the autobots actually landing on Earth or explaining when they got there.
you can ask microsoft edge copilot to look into that wiki for you. there has not been a time where this has been less of a problem than present year (2024).
I got in to Transformers in 2005 with Transformers Cybertron - I agree that Armada Starscream is a great character but there is something special about Starscream repeatedly being more successful than Megatron with fewer troops - in the end squaring up to fight Robot God - that will always have a place in my heart. He looses obviously but still.
Some random bits of Transformers lore, 1. In some continuities Optimus is the 13th prime in others the 13th goes unnamed 2. RID 2001 Megatron can turn from robot to dragon to car, to hand, to bat to jet, and to elephant 3. There are several Japanese exclusive anime, one is called Beast Wars 2 which takes place on a post-apocalypse earth. 4. In the g1 carton universe there is a fictional Middle Eastern country called “Carbomia” 5. Skid and Mudflap from ROTF were supposed to die by sentinal prime in DOTM, but the scene was cut, however, this scene did make it into the novelization and comic adaption. 6.Kiss Players is a manga series exclusive in Japan, that I can't continue to talk about for fear of god smiteing me.

You mentioned that Optimus looks quite similar between wfc and foc whereas Brawl has a redesign. I always thought that pretty much everyone only had a slight redesign whereas Optimus had the biggest design change(apart from Megatron but theres a reason for that in game so...)

I was obsessed with these games as a little girl with a new acquired PS3, have been binging replaying them together with Devastation. Some things of thought: The reason Transformers lore is all over the place is that there isn't a singular LORE. The Cybertron games and Transformers Prime show are never made to actually be connected by the writers, it was just a stunt by Hasbro to attempt to have a singular lore thought the "Aligned" continuity. If anyone wants MORE Transformers, honestly, go watch the new Transformers One movie, and read the new awesome Skybound TF comics!
I know it's not in this video, but the debut 360 Transformers title, Transformers: The Game holds so many memories for me and I desperately want to play that game again. I remember it being so good.
I like that transformers the game brought all the memorable designs: Trypticon, Metroplex, Grimlok, everyone. It's like re-living your childhood all over again.
@@Grimm196 Trypticon is the endboss of the first game and he even demonstrates his iconic dinosaur look at one of the phases, Metroplex appears in cutscenes in second game (again, he's close to memorable G1 look), Grimlok is a playable character in second game.
I was going to comment and say "Shockwave was totally in the Unicron trilogy! I remember him being in Energon!" except I totally forgot that Energon got stuck with "Shockwave at home" instead.
Yeah it happens, like for a sec I thought Hot Rod was in Armada but then I remembered that HotShot was made as an amalgam of Hot Rod and Bumblebee since the same thing happened with those characters too.

Man if you like having homemade sauce on tap, you should get yourself a cheap crockpot and do an 8 hour sauce. We make a half-gallon at a time, and it usually gets us through about 4 meals, probably closer to 8 with leftovers. It's better than any other sauce I've ever had, and all we have to do is heat it up once its made. I think all in all it costs us like 12 dollars, and feeds us heartily. I wish I could share you the recipe somehow.
Man I hate the licensing issues with these games. I am actually trying to sell my PS3 but I refuse to sell/part with my copy of FoC. That thing was my first real multiplayer shooter that got me through a bad bout of walking pneumonia type B where I could barely get off the couch for a week. Fun fact about the aligned continuity! It failed! Because Hasbro pulled a Hasbro and didn't facilitate communication between the makers of its different parts. We have such fun things like Soundwave in Transformers Prime having the lore of having taken a vow of silence during the war because all of the minicons he partnered with - only he is talking and has more than just Laserbeak days before the exodus. Or the fact that way more than 3 Autobots escaped on The Arc but "Team Prime" consists of only 5 members (Arcee and Cliffjumper got to Earth by commandeering Shockwave's space bridge after escaping capture)
I wouldnt call the MP "tacked on", the MP was incredible while it was alive. You coukd customize your bots parts and colors, make clones of your favs basically or invent your own. Then FoC even had Insecticons for the Decepticons and Dinobots for the Autobots, though these functionally worked the same as the other classes
Re-releasing these on switch , especially the platinum games transformers devastation would be a sure shot buy from me. I loved these games. War and fall of cybertron is absolutely incredible for a transformers fan.
i still have my ps3 copies of both war and fall, as a life long transformers fan i love these games dearly, and they're legitimately really really good third person shooters
On the xbox store, Foc and Devastation have recently been added but aren't purchasable/ backwards compatible (yet) so who knows, they wouldn't suddenly appear on digital store fronts without reason
In regards to the "They are definitely remastering these games" hopes - recently it was leaked that Microsoft is working on 2 Transformers titles, and Microsoft now owns Activision/Blizzard. Still not proof but it has a lot of people hopeful
Prime was kinda tacked onto the cybertron games as the show has a lot of conflicting lore. Anyway I loved the video! These are my favorite games and I'm so glad you covered them
+1 for a series on games that have been delisted or simply forgotten due to licensing issues from the PS3/360 era. The X-men Origins: Wolverine game is great and is essentially abandonware due to being delisted for a decade.
I love War for Cybertron, despite being such a Gee-Wunner that I dislike any talk of sparks and Primus (gimme that Primon and Quintesson origin from "The Five Faces of Darkness," any day). Luckily, I got my copy on Steam a few years before it was delisted, and thus, can play it on my PC, while running ReShade (for vibrancy and clarity), and a third-party aspect ratio app. I even taught myself a lot about old Unreal Engine console variables to maximize the graphics beyond the project defaults. Good stuff. That said, I absolutely hate the Autobot turret level. It's so cursed. It feels like one of those nightmares where you can't move when you try to run.
11:13 that is why i dropped this game. Well, the second. I finished the first. 16:27 I feel like I remember playing this part. 19:30 transformation cock? 😂😂😂. 26:25 you really gotta distribute these comedic punctuations very sparsely across the videos. Like, 1 or 2 at most. It's just not effective when it's anymore. For example, Writing on Games isn't comedic often, but when he is, it's funny because of how rare it is. Since I mentioned him, I'll also say, your speaking pace and pause is way easier to listen to than his. 30:00 that looks proper tasty. 30:45 I remember why I dropped the second now. It just ran horribly. 33:14 you're the first person I ever see mention Transformers Armada ever. That game is so fucking awesome. Please consider making a video on it. 40:25 "Starscream is just being a silly little guy" 😂. 43:35 what? no way this is the third game of war for cybertron. Certainly this is a sequel to the PS2 game. 45:30 that Deadpool game was awesome. 46:03 holy shit, I just realized, High Mooon made Darkwatch. That is insane. That is one of the best games period. 47:55 god. We really need to force publishers to Stop Killing Games. 49:06 "i've been waiting on VTM2 since 2019" oh yeah? I've been waiting for Deep Down since 2014. That's vaporware. Miegakure since 2016 or something. This is currently being developed. 55:00 I was expecting you to go into the third game, since you bothered to mention it. But I'm glad it didn't happen.
the DOTM game is a prequel to the movie and has no story relation to the cybertron games. It's pretty good though its short its essentially FoC with a Michael Bay skin
I'm forever sad that Slipstream and Arcee are in Inaccessible Multiplayer hell thought, if I would criticize WFC, it would be about not using either of them properly. I used to prefer FOC multiplayer, so never really played as either when I could.

What? Transformers the game is about 2007 movie and none of the characters you mentioned are in it
@@Grimm196 Trypticon is the endboss of the first game and he even demonstrates his iconic dinosaur look at one of the phases, Metroplex appears in cutscenes in second game (again, he's close to memorable G1 look), Grimlok is a playable character in second game.
@@quint3ssent1a That's War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. You said Transformers The Game, which is about the 2007 movie.
@@quint3ssent1a don't act like I don't know the games
I was going to comment and say "Shockwave was totally in the Unicron trilogy! I remember him being in Energon!" except I totally forgot that Energon got stuck with "Shockwave at home" instead.
Yeah it happens, like for a sec I thought Hot Rod was in Armada but then I remembered that HotShot was made as an amalgam of Hot Rod and Bumblebee since the same thing happened with those characters too.
57:18 I didn’t expect to hear something so meaningful while I’m still reminiscing in the frozen in 2012 piece of art and my favorite comfort game. Thanks!!
I refuse to watch any transformers content without a 10 minute home cooking interlude.
Transformers Devastation is fantastic. I had to * REDACTED * a steam copy (it's delisted for some reason) so I could play on PC.
It's delisted because activision bullshit.
Bro has discovered peak gaming. Sent right back to my childhood. The PVP was really good
Time to emulate
I wouldnt call the MP "tacked on", the MP was incredible while it was alive. You coukd customize your bots parts and colors, make clones of your favs basically or invent your own. Then FoC even had Insecticons for the Decepticons and Dinobots for the Autobots, though these functionally worked the same as the other classes
I am so happy to see infamous in the games you grabbed! It and 2 are a couple of my all tike favorite games!
This was a gem, the trailer videos go hard!
56:08 If Hasbro and GW went in on that crossover, pretty sure Titan prices would be low end of the pricing scheme
starscream swearing fealty to you is like a known liar saying "trust me" you shouldn't believe them, but characters always do for some reason
I put on a Transformers games video, go out for a tab, come back, and this mf makin' sandwiches.
I'm here for it.
Came for the transformers. Stayed for the Food recipie. Don't often like videos but this one is getting a good ol like and Subscribe!
Bane Megatron felt like an activation code for me. I need to find my sketchbook, the Emperor's work needs to be done.
TFWiki is the only place where you can have a GOOD laugh with Stars War related stuff.
These games are something i always return to play on a constant there so much fun to play
Prime was kinda tacked onto the cybertron games as the show has a lot of conflicting lore. Anyway I loved the video! These are my favorite games and I'm so glad you covered them
Conflicting lore sounds entirely on-brand for anything Transformers.
@@CharlatanWonder so true
Wfc campaign imo was truly made for coop. Sadly that can't be experienced anymore, unless you're on a platform where the re-energized mods work.
i used to play war for cybertron as a kid all the damn time, it was so good lmao
Rise of The Dark Spark was decanonized soon after it's release btw.
Why didnt you mention the Wii spinoff which is properly part of the cybertron stuff even if it has different gameplay?
These were my fav games growing up, I wish games like this still got made. Not insanely profound in any way; just plain fun.
Where'd you get that dope mushroom shirt that you wore during the cooking segment?
Hot Topic.
shock wave was in the unciron trilogy he was just called shockblast
Can't wait for them to be available again. Fingers crossed.
ah the peak transformers games, that led into one of the best animation series
I do wish that Optimus was just Orion Pax prior to becoming a Prime.
I'll have to stop back on this later, an hour essay on three SOLID games I've played and beaten myself? yes. not today, but yes.
What was the third solid game?
@@wallacewisdom Dark spark
@@wallacewisdom Nevermind I get what you mean
Oh, it was that one, personally the third game is the dotm tie in but I guess spark counts kinda
These games were my childhood!
Ow a fellow Armada Starscream fan. :)
own both games on steam so i can still play them whenever i want
WFC and FOC were my childhood lol
Hey Charles, I was curious, will you cover Sonar Shock. I personally enjoyed it a while back as a great System Shock homage.
lol that's literally the next video.
@@CharlatanWonder *Insert that old cartoon yes meme here*
2:29 I feel like Necrons would've been a better analogue to the Transformers but I get the point nonetheless.
the DOTM game is a prequel to the movie and has no story relation to the cybertron games. It's pretty good though its short its essentially FoC with a Michael Bay skin
Question about the garlic. Why did you dice it instead of using a garlic press? I'm lazy, so I always use a garlic press.
They're just a pain to clean.
Forgot the true ultra extreme forbidden Transformers Armada game on PS2!
Is that a scarlett focusrite at 4:10
Don't yeet StarScream!
ahh, War for Cybertron! These games awoke my love for PC gaming! :D
I'm forever sad that Slipstream and Arcee are in Inaccessible Multiplayer hell thought, if I would criticize WFC, it would be about not using either of them properly. I used to prefer FOC multiplayer, so never really played as either when I could.
