Once a Month I devoted for Century ride and @ the overall tips agree. The one thing that hit me most of the times is Head on winds sometimes the force is monstrous 20 to 25 miles especially out of trails = local highways That's why pedaling technics are necessary keeping going otherwise depends can be very tiring & frustrating.
Great video! Just started riding almost a month ago. I hope to do 100 by February where there’s a community ride organized in my area, so these tips are great! I’m also surprised your video didn’t have any dogs! That’s incredible! I live in rural Texas. The whole video would’ve been me being chased by dogs if I had done it lol.
Im glad it was helpful and good luck, with the right preparation you should be fine! Keep in mind that the terrain and weather can play a big role in difficulty. Haha I guess Im lucky there arent too many running loose around here!
Thanks for your video with tips & encouragement. You did a great job recording while on the bike & editing after… I didn’t expect that when I saw a typo in the title: “Ride you’re first…” vs “YOUR”. 😊 I liked it & subscribed.
Great info, bro! Thanks! I used to run marathons, so I can relate to it a bit....one of these days it may happen for me! Thanks again for the valuable info.
Hoping to cimplete my first century in the next few days. I will also be going solo. I'm most worried about the butt duscomfort. Im also in NY, I've been to Letchworth many times. Thanks for the great pointers!
You are welcome and good luck! Even when you do everything right its still a long time on the bike but hopefully everything feels good and you have a great ride!
The earbuds are stupid and dangerous and make us all look bad. You know your ears are your best friend on your bike, but you're too cool to follow common sense... If you're doing to post videos and influence people at least teach them the right way and don't promote dangerous behavior. Stop being a dope.
Very nicely done Ryan. Super helpful and enjoyable (i watched the entire video!). Cheers. Ride on!
Hey, glad it was helpful, that's always an awesome thing to hear! Keep on riding!

That’s a really great point! A head or tail wind can really make it feel like a totally different ride. Pedaling properly will certainly help!

Im happy it was helpful! Longer rides are all about being prepared, especially if time isnt an issue and its just getting it done!
Your advice on saddle and butt pain is on point.
Glad you agree, thanks for watching!

I have found , in my 60rs of existence , that the newest stuff isn't always better stuff 🤷♂️
Very true!
Excellent video! Like the helmet, what kind is it and where can I find that brand? Thanks.
Thank you ! The helmet is a Giro which should be available in most shops.
I've never done a century. Most I have ever done is 75mi , on the Neuse , on a mtb with touring tires .....
damn sure felt like a century tho 🤷♂️ 😂👌
Always bring your cell phone.
And the Spot or InReach is great when doing long trail rides through places with no service.
12 hours on a hybrid
Nice thats awesome!
