Yeah, even though he despised the role of Mike Brady. He kept doing it because he needed the work and he loved being around the kids. He got divorced long before the show and hardly ever saw his daughter so he turned the love for his daughter over to the 6 child actors. But he did not like playing Mike Brady. Being on the show with a smile was the biggest act of all for him.
I’m not sure you can say he despised the role. He didn’t like the Schwartz’s and their scripts. He was a good enough actor that he could have left and done something else for five years. I’m sure when he got to Heaven he was like, yeah, that definitely wasn’t how I thought I wanted to be remembered in my great classical acting career, but I really ended up making a difference with my life in a way few actors do, and generations of kids will always like me...
What I loved about this episode was that even though Greg & Marca had their own Finals to think of they were willing to go to bat to help Peter with his Science Course with Mr. Price. Barry Williams (Ex-Greg Brady) admitted that his Hair was a Mess in Year Three so he just let it go. Another admirable thing was that Chris Knight (Ex-Peter) admitted that he hated doing the Brady Bunch Kids Tour Concert in 1973 because he knew he couldn't "sing". He had a realism about himself that a lot of Teen Idols didn't have and got major slices of Humble Pie in the future.
1:57 - “He’s the kind of guy, Dad-who tells the class jokes in Latin. And all semester only one kid laughed, and he was Italian.” 😵😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Plus, I speak Spanish-even I wouldn’t understand.
The same thing we think about them because there has been people throughout history who distort history to fit their narrative… episodes back then weren’t arbitrary they had a reason for writing the episode because that was happening during their times as well.
Yes I know we had a Mrs. Price in our High School, I think the one thing I didn’t like about her was one the first day of school she would make comments about how good or bad your older siblings were when she had them. She was one of these teachers had to get her good side,
Throw in Fox while you're at it. MSNBC is Democratic establishment propaganda, Fox is Republican establishment propaganda, and CNN does propaganda for both sides.
In his book he said that when he turned 16, his hair went “insane” with natural curl-which we can plainly see. Ironically, all of three of the Brady boys got hit with the same “insane” natural curl as teens, although Barry suspects that Robert Reed could have gotten a perm. But poor Barry/Greg went through a phase where he tried to slick it down or just didn’t wash it, until Florence Henderson told him it just looked dirty. This looks like one of those times.
Is there anybody out there that can create an entire channel dedicated to The Brady Bunch with all of the entire 117 episodes? And also including spinoffs, movies, and specials?
@Ken Lompart The street performer says, "Thank you, thank you, applause is a great way to butter up a performer. But butter is frankly not much good without the bread," and passes around the hat.
Looking back, Mike & Carol should have said "So Long As Your Grades Don't Suffer, You Can Be Scoop Brady". Also, they should have realized that although Peter was having fun at "Parties" and the like, he was milking it for everything it was worth because he wasn't exactly everyone's first choice as a Party Guest and The Party he did about A Year And A Half Ago for saving that Girl's Life was a flop! Peter was a much "cleaner" version of Perez Hilton.
I'm sorry, but while I get what they were trying to teach here, it's not believable because while Mike Brady was correct about "power to the press", school press doesn't have much power. When l was in school, nobody cared what the school newspaper geeks wrote in their columns and they certainly were not going to give favors to those people.
I wonder how much of their bottom line was affected by having the cast wear Hang Ten shirts? They were all the rage in the early 1970s. I know I had to have them.
This was one of my least favorite epusodes because in Middle school, the press has no power. Literally, nobody cares if you write good things about them in the school newspaper.
these are not episodes can you get some full episodes of Brady Bunch on I don't think anybody wants to watch 5 minutes of The Brady Bunch it's not worth it
I was watching yesterday part of the past flash back past life look back at movie maze TV show documentary about biography book club fun more information on maze's New look back at movie maze party oasr awesome picture awards TCM on the best way magic app key magic New dream key new
@sammavacaist The early 70s were a strange time for fashion and hairstyles. Greg’s hair in this episode looks especially odd and never seemed to look like that before or after.
According to Barry Williams book AKA Greg, his hair was starting to curl real bad as you see in the later seasons of The Brady Bunch and they didn't want it to so they kept trying to straighten it. Same went for Robert Reed at least that's what Barry said in his book.
It would be dishonest if Peters column read Mr Price is einstein .. its just an opinion that he takes him to be as great as Einstein If he were to be really honest he may have just added a line that although his jokes are terrible
Robert Reed was truly a good actor
Yeah, even though he despised the role of Mike Brady. He kept doing it because he needed the work and he loved being around the kids. He got divorced long before the show and hardly ever saw his daughter so he turned the love for his daughter over to the 6 child actors. But he did not like playing Mike Brady. Being on the show with a smile was the biggest act of all for him.
Thank you. CONTRARY to popular opinion I loved the role of Mike Brady.
And he was a great person as well!
He was Shakespearean trained at the Royal Academy in London from what I understand.
Mike Brady needs to have the same lecture with today's media. Lol
You are right
@James - That's so funny. I thought the same thing as I watched this again for the first time in probably 40 years.
Hello....Mike Brady is deceased. That would be an interesting talk.
🤣 😂
I agree 100 percent 😊
@@Gods1andonly Mike Brady is a fictional character.
1:28
Mike: "I thought you were gonna take care of that back lawn this afternoon."
I didn't know you were supposed to mow AstroTurf.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It wasnt astroturf in the original series. Just the movie
@@timebandito4278 Yes it was. It wasn't grass anyway. That's why it was part of the movie.
He meant vacuuming the lawn
But the delivery was so 70s dad, I was impressed.
Mike Brady - best TV dad ever.
The best
He was homosexual. Hollywood favorite dad sure. HoLyWoOd ruLes the world, even Mike Brady.
Ward Clever
According to TV Guide, Andy Taylor was.
What I loved about this episode was that even though Greg & Marca had their own Finals to think of they were willing to go to bat to help Peter with his Science Course with Mr. Price. Gross and so not even close to reality.
yea some individuals definitely need humble pie as they're very full of themselves.
This is a very very good show.
The best
He was a gay man in "real" life wtf?
When I was a kid, I used to look to Fridays. The Brady Bunch was on the air every Friday.
ANN B DAVIS 1926_2014 REST IN PEACE😭💔
RIP Mike, Carol and Alice
3:00 Notice that he uses the German pronunciations of Einstein and Schwetizer.
I noticed this. Robert Reed was a thespian extraordinaire, and pretty educated. The series was lucky to have him.
I caught it, too. Specht en ci Deutsch?
I love the Brady Bunch I grew up watching the Brady Bunch I hope you all enjoy
Great episode!
With press power comes great responsibility
Peter literally looks like a guy I had a small crush on in school 😂🤣
Shannon menendez My sister thought Peter was Donny Osmond. Grade School I kept getting staired at because my face was plassered with IRISH Freckels
I'm jealous
1:57 - “He’s the kind of guy, Dad-who tells the class jokes in Latin. And all semester only one kid laughed, and he was Italian.”
😵😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Plus, I speak Spanish-even I wouldn’t understand.
Lol maybe the Italian kid knew Latin😂
What would Mike think of the press these days...
The same thing we think about them because there has been people throughout history who distort history to fit their narrative… episodes back then weren’t arbitrary they had a reason for writing the episode because that was happening during their times as well.
He'd be thinking I hope they don't find out I'm "gay" .. sad
Mike sporting the Hang Ten brand shirt
And side-burns!
I had a hang ten t-shirt in 1973. It looked a lot like Mikes. I remember it costing mote than other shirts.
They still do.
Why do I not remember this episode? Lol
Sock puppetry at its finest.
I think every school had a "Mr. Price".
I know I did in my sophomore year in high school. He was my bio science teacher and his name was Mr. Ijima
I had a civics teacher named Mr Price who looked just like this one, but had a friendlier personality.
My chemistry teacher was just like this guy
I had a Mr. Price in sixth grade
Yes I know we had a Mrs. Price in our High School, I think the one thing I didn’t like about her was one the first day of school she would make comments about how good or bad your older siblings were when she had them. She was one of these teachers had to get her good side,
Good lesson learned. And a good lesson taught
All the girls were beautiful, but Jan, that hair is amazing😅
That’ll teach him to leave test papers in his jacket.
Mike gave Peter the Spiderman speech.😂😂😂😂😂
Greg is having a bad hair day 🤣 he looks better with a perm 🤗
That hair is actually a perfect example of the era.
Mike and Peter are so Handsome luscious hair locks
I really liked Peters hair.
me too.@@bluerain3681
Peter Brady is underrated as an American
Yep, old Pete is right up there with the best Americans: George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Peter Brady.
What school has puppets of the teachers?
What was so ironic is that Mike gave Greg a Lecture on The Top Bunk Bed when he flopped at The Baseball Game.
Jan's face at 1:15 is priceless
What face??????
Comb your hair Barry.
U can mow AstroTurf?
4:06 this is CNN, MSNBC and almost all of the MSM needs to learn
Throw in Fox while you're at it. MSNBC is Democratic establishment propaganda, Fox is Republican establishment propaganda, and CNN does propaganda for both sides.
bfsgman
Fox is 100 times worse than those others, it’s fact. The Young Turks is the most honest news out there.
@Clayton Brown TYT honest? Did Cenk Uyger give you a D grade on your science report?
At this time, there was only abc, cbs, and nbc.
Greg's hair looks terrible.
I think it looks cute much better thn the man bun now tht was cringe worthy
In his book he said that when he turned 16, his hair went “insane” with natural curl-which we can plainly see. Ironically, all of three of the Brady boys got hit with the same “insane” natural curl as teens, although Barry suspects that Robert Reed could have gotten a perm. The entire staff of CNN needs to watch this episode.
They would only be offended
You made a typo. You meant “FauxNews” didn’t you?
Peter Brady was Blossom of the Month
Wait a minute.... did I just hear Peter get told that with great power comes great responsibility?
Is there anybody out there that can create an entire channel dedicated to The Brady Bunch with all of the entire 117 episodes? And also including spinoffs, movies, and specials?
2:41 It could be worse. It could stand for "dork"
Some kids try to convince their parents that F means fantastic.
Sigh. Chris Knight was so handsome. Had a crush on him back in the day.
So did I.
Me too
I thought Mrs. Brady was the best-looking of the bunch.
“You know about that too?”😂😂😂
Power of the Press. Back then when it mattered. Not these days. Lies and deceit
Why is gregs hair so unevenly cut
He admitted that he had some serious Hair Problems where it went from nice and straight to crinkly. He just gave up and let it do what ever it wanted.
That’s when Greg starts smoking marijuana he couldn’t carry much he couldn’t care less
He hadn't bought a bottle of hair tonic from Bobby yet.
CNN should take note...
That's for real. The entire MSM should take note. You can't trust any of them.
Mow the damn astroturf Greg
Jeez
🤣
All of fake news needs to watch this episode..
What's a snow job?
A bullshit story
Like they said; a bullshit story, a con, and...the code name of G.I. Joe's first Arctic trooper.
@Ken Lompart The street performer says, "Thank you, thank you, applause is a great way to butter up a performer. But butter is frankly not much good without the bread," and passes around the hat.
Bullshit storyline or in Peter's case sucking up.
Nice mutton chops on Robert Reed.
Today media needs to take lessens from this.
Oh Alice! Haha
Greg is definitely the "bad kid."
no he and Marcia both were responsible older siblings but they had their flaws and selfish moments like anyone else.
Nope
Remember when Greg made the fake UFO?
I'm sorry, but while I get what they were trying to teach here, it's not believable because while Mike Brady was correct about "power to the press", school press doesn't have much power. When l was in school, nobody cared what the school newspaper geeks wrote in their columns and they certainly were not going to give favors to those people.
Wow Greg's hair needs a touch-up
Must have taken Peter 3 months to write a paper as slow as he types with one finger.
1:00 favorite part
Must've been Saturday or Sunday during this clip
Teaching math doesn't exactly make a person teacher of the year either
Mr Price taught Biology not Math
He feels like a real father. I've always thought Robert Reed was great on this show.
I love Marcia Brady she is so pretty and sooo young looking wonder how she got old.
+Ashirah Newton Entropy!
Ashirah Newton ..It's called aging unless your a robot..Even those alien face Botox bitches will age..There's no escape
Jan Brady is prettier than Marcia
Why the puppets?
They were going to put on a skit about their teachers on a jamerine night at their school.
Greg's hair.
I believe in opportunity - but almost 50+ years ?? Is there a breaking point & who really is managing these programs with what rules
I wonder how much of their bottom line was affected by having the cast wear Hang Ten shirts? They were all the rage in the early 1970s. I know I had to have them.
theyd wear popular items of the time. like on most shows. it makes sense. it's like a time capsule
Anybody else notice the "Hang Ten" t shirt Mr. Brady is wearing? LOL!!! ( I guess back then, he couldnt wear a tiara)
You can’t just do nice things you have to be responsible for the things that you do because if you’re not responsible how can anybody trust you
I had Mr Brady's. Shirt Hang Ten.. Lol. Very popular in the earlt 70's
Stop the presses!
This was one of my least favorite epusodes because in Middle school, the press has no power. Literally, nobody cares if you write good things about them in the school newspaper.
I can tell you the people of the rising in Port Jeff Station a really great super great we’re going to help me with my iPhone 11 when I got it
I think Greg start smoking marijuana start growing his hair out I guess he was a really cool dude back in the 1970s
Nice to see a TV show not overrun with blacks or gays.
I Noticed that too
Marcia has fake laugh
Power of the press....FOX NEWS..😂😂
The early days of MSNBC
Robert Reed was never gay. It was an ugly rumor I heard
Take off the rose colored glasses Kim.
these are not episodes can you get some full episodes of Brady Bunch on I don't think anybody wants to watch 5 minutes of The Brady Bunch it's not worth it

I hate Carol Bradys 'do
Why do the male actors all have horrible haircuts?
@sammavacaist The early 70s were a strange time for fashion and hairstyles. Greg’s hair in this episode looks especially odd and never seemed to look like that before or after.
According to Barry Williams book AKA Greg, his hair was starting to curl real bad as you see in the later seasons of The Brady Bunch and they didn't want it to so they kept trying to straighten it. Same went for Robert Reed at least that's what Barry said in his book.
It would be dishonest if Peters column read Mr Price is einstein .. its just an opinion that he takes him to be as great as Einstein
If he were to be really honest he may have just added a line that although his jokes are terrible
Pete went on to have a career at CNN.
