Thank you so much for this tutorial! It's been years around but today it saved the day!! We are about to do an native american themed camping for our cub scouts and your patern helped me make my shaman feathers!
I am soooo excited. I have never done macrame before, but your tutorial makes this looks easy and so gorgeous. The felt on the back is genius !! Thanks from one Canuck to another ❣️🇨🇦
Thank you for this tutorial, I find it the most easiest to use. I made one from Dollar Tree yarn and was such fun to do. You can't go wrong using your tutorial, thank you again!
The backing is genius on this feather. It holds the shape beautifully. You are such a great teacher. I find it hard to quit watching the tutorials. Thank you!
I have been looking for a quieter/not fussy way to do a feather out of macrame cords. Thank you for showing us the way. Love, love, love your tutorial.💐💖👍🏾
Thank you for making this video for us beginners , that was well explanatory would try and post again how it came out for me. Looking forward for new videos.
If you wanted to make several feathers hanging from a branch, should you attach the first cord (spine of the leaf) to the branch before added the rest of the cords? It would be easier to make the leaves first & then attach them to the branch, but I’m not sure how to do that
I use spray starch on my smaller feathers....not sure how well it would work on the larger ones.... After spraying them pat them with your hand to help it absorb the starch and to form its shape....
I don't want to use the felt backing I have seen their leaves done by using a craft spray that stiffens the fabric. I think I will end up using that method instead so that I don't have to deal with trying to cut out templates and all that because I am very bad at it but this was an excellent tutorial, thank you very much.

First piece is 36 inches, then 32 pieces that are each 17 inches long. 32x17, plus 36, adds up to 580 inches. 580 inches divided by 12 (inches per foot) equals 48.33 feet. Divide that by 3 (feet per yard) and you need a little over 16 yards. I hope that helps :)
Great video, now I need to buy sharp scissors because every pair in my house suck lol. my leaf is getting smaller and smaller as I can't trim it nicely.
Thank you. So simple but a great looking feather afterwards, I used to do macrame 50 years ago and loved it then!
Omg love love love.... $65 for 13 leaves on etsy doesn't seem so expensive now...this is alot of work...love it

I have been looking for a quieter/not fussy way to do a feather out of macrame cords.
Thank you for showing us the way. Love, love, love your tutorial.💐💖👍🏾
Love the idea with the felt. I haven't seen that before. I like how it supports the shape you want! Thank you :)
Beautiful job and now it’s time to get my supplies. God Loves Y’all Always Everyone ❤
You did an excellent job explaining this for the newbies! Thank you!
It's lovely and the felt backing is a great idea, but you definitely need some better scissors!
This is such a good tutorial. Super simple. Thank you!

Wow! Best tutorials ever. Love it. Very easy to understand & comprehend. Thx so much ❤️
So pretty, beautiful.
I would like to make a smaller feather like 4 inches, having your suggested amount of cord would be appreciated!
Thank you for this tutorial!! Really well done and easy to follow.
Brushing looks so satisfying
So pretty! Thanks for your video
I have question. Anyone know where I find a video on how to then tie onto wood dowl for hanging?
@lotsofknotscanada Any suggestions? I am wondering this too. Just made 7 leaves using your tutorial. Now I need to attach them to the branch!
Yes it’s called the constrictor knot- I found on you tube
th-cam.com/video/apQmgU_uEFQ/w-d-xo.html
Make a much longer loop at the top and just loop over the wood and put the leaf through the loop
Just attach a thread to the top of the leaf . If you look you’ll see the top has a round hole in the middle
Loved this and will be using your design
It's a great video, easy to follow and the feathers are magnificent
I use spray starch on my smaller feathers....not sure how well it would work on the larger ones....
After spraying them pat them with your hand to help it absorb the starch and to form its shape....
P.S. leave flat until it’s dry....
This is why I love your videos! Thanks for the tips

Beautifully done.. Loved the end product.. It's marvelous 👏👏👏👏
Elegant and very beautiful💕 Thank you for sharing🙏💕🙋
Lady you made it so easier❣️
Do you think if your leaf is a different color from the felt it will show. Trying to save some money not having to buy different colors
Beautiful. I am going to try this
I just found your channel and so excited. Just started this for my first project.
Beautiful!! It only works with cotton yarn
maybe this is a stupid questions...lol but when you are making say a red or black feather do you change the color of the felt?

Thanks for the message! You could use an adhesive spray I'm just not sure if it would work as well as the felted back to hold the feather's shape.
@@LotsofKnotsCanadaGracias un saludo desde Colombia
I think this is having an ASMR affect on me❤️ I had no idea feathers are an option. I’m ready to try to make this
Super joli !!
Do you think cardstock would would instead of felt?
Do you add any glue to the rest of the combed out areas
Should we use soft felt or stiff One??
It looks pretty
So beautiful...Thanks for sharing
Very beautiful. But I don't have Macrame thread. Can I use normal wool thread ? Will it work ? Please guide ♥️

Excellent teaching 👍
What would happen if I used a 6mm twisted cotton string? I have so much left over wondering if it would droop too much when I comb it out?
Would regular 100% kitchen cotton yarn work?
can i use 3ply instead of twisted cord
I'm sooo addicted to your channel after only 1 video, that's all it took!

New subscriber here😍 thanks for this tutorial. Very easy to understand and can't wait to apply it in my next project.
Hi I wanted to know what can be used instead of a pet brush?
I will try my first one soon, thanks for the video
You say 3mm cord but you don't say how much we need can you clarify please?
First piece is 36 inches, then 32 pieces that are each 17 inches long. 32x17, plus 36, adds up to 580 inches. 580 inches divided by 12 (inches per foot) equals 48.33 feet. Divide that by 3 (feet per yard) and you need a little over 16 yards. I hope that helps :)
