Hi, I've been following your "year on the broads" sor a sew days, now, and find it most interesting. I am about to begin the construction of a kayak and then build up on size and importance in the future. Where I live there's a great big lake and it's very challenging to sail it. What I've been trying to figure out is what you market online and how you do it.. (pardon the sideline) I have tried unsuccessfully to market a few things and have temporarily quit, so as not to waste time (one has to eat, y'know) So I'm making a living on a home-based business making jams, pickles and chutneys, but the seasons fluctuate and this year is quite "calm". Anyway, I'll continue to enjoy your videos and hope one day I'll have my own to post on YT. All the best, Paul.
Hi Amazing video diaries..Could you tell me the make of the tasty savonius wind generator that you are using, always seen the high speed marlec's on boats...wouldn't like to walk into one of them in a gale after a few beers lol
Why can't you unbolt the mast at the pivot on the tabernacle and slide it forward -up to the bow pulpit? Small sailboats do well at sea as long as they are purpose made. A Vega 27 is a good example. I have a 30 foot O'day which is alright for the Great lakes but I would never go to sea in it. A great U-tube site for passage making in a small boat is 'cruising Lea Lea.' they crossed from California to Hawaii several times in an old 27 footer and now live aboard in Alaska. Check it out, I learned a lot from them.
carbidegrd1 It takes three people to move the mast. One to sit above the tabernacle and two more to hold the rest of the mast from the cockpit, one mistake and the mast is in the water. It has been done before but ob land and also stern on at a pontoon. The location I am currently in has multiple bridges.
