It’s on a scale of 528 and it’s based on percentile with 528 being 100th percentile. 505 is 70th percentile and 510 is just about the eightieth percentile. These are all pretty decent scores especially for a 7 hour test.
Crazy how almost none of the stuff on the mcat has to do what is taught in med school. No organic chem, physiology in med school a lot different then the physic, bio portion only for 5% of entry level stuff.
As a Canadian this actually shocked me. A 512 would be considered just “average” at lots of schools here. Some only care about CARS so anything under a 129 in that section puts you at a major disadvantage as well.

Any score is a good score as it means they probably did some amount of grinding and willingly spent a chunk of money for a LONG exam. An exam for which 65% of the content you'll never see or use in Medical school. It's strictly a tool that tests if you can knuckle down and study an obscene amount.

The physics, chemistry and biology questions asked in MCAT are like water if you compare them to NEET , specially NEET 2016 to 2018 and forget about AIIMS UG, when it was conducted separately, that was even way tougher than NEET UG, and there you had to solve 200 damn tough questions in 210 minutes, including general knowledge, aptitude etc.... If US students took AIIMS UG, they would seriously fall into massive depression and even begin to question their existence as capable humans and as for current NEET UG scenario, nowadays quite easy questions are being asked, some even at the level of MCAT.

Okay basically as someone who is studying the mcat right now the mcat is a med school entry exam, a 505 is what you want if you want to get a DO which is a doctor of osteopathy, a lot of MD programs don't want 505's 509 you can get an MD and go to a medical school isntead of an osteopathic med school. 516 means you can go to an ivy leue med shcool.
