- Tensegrity Table will amaze you how only strings in tension can support a table top. This video will explain the mechanics and physics behind the stability of this table. The use of compression and tension components along with clever mechanical configuration is shown and discussed.

Imagine if he revealed at the end he was really explaining how a tensegrity table works, on top of a tensegrity table
Ten-ception-tegrity table
With a big lil Mickey underneath it lol
haha
"Yo dawg, I heard you like tensegrity..."
I was somehow expecting that
might not be as high quality as the other video but at least you explain whats going on with words
It is not a terribly complicated contraption
Yeah seriously, clusters of pages on how to make, barley any on how they WORK.
Low quality? Do you not see the fireplace
it's not explained correctly, there is no compression, there's tension and shifting if "centre of gravity
edited: also, the explanation doesn't need so much words
@Felix yes but it's always nice to hear the proper words to describe things, in the other videos I saw, they never say what tensegritiy means, also this is only 3 min long, compared to the 15 min on other videos with more craftsmanship focus, I guess there is a reason why you clicked in this video.
Being an elementary teacher, it was incredibly satisfying to finally find a video that explains the concept well enough for all ages since literally every other video is almost incomprehensible to a young mind.
This guy has so much passion for physics.
He deserves more views
This is one of the few things that made me feel like some caveman looking at a moderately complicated thing. I love stuff that challenges my perception and expectations.
Before this video:
Spaceship?
- Rockets.
Car?
-Wheels & engine.
Tensegrity Table?
WTFF WHAT HOW??
Kinda still feel the same after the video.
I dunno, this guy sounds like an actual Wizard to me.
Well hes already got that short hair silvery dumbledore look
0:14 AT FIRST GLANCE I THOUGHT HE WAS ALSO PERFORMING MAGIC
Thank you! You did a great job of explaining the mechanism of action, and you bright personality made me want more videos from you. Thank you for sharing your time and wisdom.
You're a legend. Easy to understand and highly interesting
Thanks for this! This definitely makes it easier to wrap my mind around what’s happening.
thank you for this explanation, im here cause of a instagram video and for some odd reason i felt i was close to understanding it but this explanation helped a lot thank you, enjoy the vid everyone else who comes by after lol
This is probably the best video explaining this topic, thanks a lot!
I really love the minimalistic editing
Minimalistic, love that word.
Thanks! Nicely explained with simple props which we also can experiment with!
Don't stop there, we need more content from you like this, keep up the good work!
Cheers!
i've been watching a lot of tensegrity videos today. This video explains it quite well
Bravo and thank you, despite a broad knowledge in both engineering and physics I am still amazed by it when I managed to understand something new. Many thanks.
Thank you for helping the viewers search for videos like this one!
This is a good explanation of how compression members and tensile members can be made to work together to produce a stable structure. The problem is though that it isn't fully stable, since the rectangular configuration permits considerable side sway which is unacceptable if the structure is to be a useful table instead of just a novelty. All that is necessary is to use the stability of tensile members arranged in triangles and all will be well.
This was a great video! Thank you so much for this fun and simple explanation.
This is a great video, thank you so much for explaining it
This guy is cool and i also want a space mickey now. The explanation was amazing aswell
Such a great explanation. Thank you for this.
I’ve only watched one video….
But I’d die for this man!!
🤣💖👍
dude, i needed to see this explaining. THANK YOU
That’s wicked, I was taught tension and compression in grade 4/5, but I would never have actually considered that these really basic principles could be to make something so cool.
This video made a lot easier to understand this so great video!
You sir are amazing. ❤️ Thank you for this simple and straight to the point video.
i hope this guy’s channel becomes popular in the future, incredible job 👍👍
Awesome video! Nice campfire in the background too. 👌🏼
NIce video. I liked that you explained the concept so quickly, most of the other videos I saw on the search were 10 minutes long or more.
I was watching some video, saw yours in the recommendation, switched ,watched and subscribed !
Great explanation and demonstration!
I like it. Great video. Never stop learning. It's good for you.
great example and easy to understand explanation. kudos!
Guess everyone is here after their daily dose of internet, no?
YES....
Its why I am here, yes.
yuppp 😂
haha that thing confused the heck out of me
Yup
Fascinating and very well explained.
“Okay, now I have a place to put my little mickey.”
Childish, I know. Couldn’t resist. Cheers.
I want a place for my little Minnie.
You sir, have earned my thumbs up 👍
I felt more clueless at the end than at the beginning of the video.
What I really wanted to see is the whole process of fine tuning this witchraft to maintain stability.
Thankyou so much for helping me understand!!
Made it simple to understand thank you
Best video explaining tensegrity I've seen! I understand it now 😅
So much potential in this channel to be among the top science channela like vsauce, Mr beast, mark rober, veritasium, etc...
But a long way to go
entertaining and educational! thank you 🙌💗🙌
Greetings from Thornton. Thanks for the video
Thanks, Jerry! 👍
Really well explained! Tensegrity is quite a cool conecpt
I appreciate the explanation!
Well explained ! -Thank you !
Nothing like having Einstein explaining this sorcererism. Now seriously, good teacher.
Love this video so much.
Thank you! I always wanted to know this! Also it was explained easily so thank you for that too!!
Thank you gramps, stay safe sir
Thank you for Share!! I love Physics
Thanks for the explanation.
I knew that, just seeing it... But I really like the phisycs explanations haha and it's a great video ✌🏻
Thank you! Great vid! Seems like the metal attached to the base is really supporting all the weight ( I think lol).
I like your video Greeting from Hungary 😊
Very helpful explanation!
Thank you, I this was very easy to understand
Great explanation I might make one myself as a fun science project
Gud sharing
thanks for the awesome video!
Simple and easy to understand
Great video!
Excellent video.
Very helpful!
Enjoyed your video. Interesting science here
Thats so cool! Thank you 🙂
Thanks a lot.. It gives me ideas. Using these theory I will build the roof of my house .
Awww you're brilliant. Kind regards from an English Sapper.
Thanks for that explanation.
Thank you for the explanation :D
Whatever you say, magic man.
Great Video!
Balance is rediscovered every generation.
Thank you science wizard grandpa!!!!
nice. A+ on the editing too.
Thanks! Wonderful Explaination.
You are welcome!
Very interesting, i will one day make a tensegrity chair. Thank you, like and subscribed.
Thank you!
Amazing explanation, thank you = )
Thanks for the explanation jerry
Damn now I got that "aha" moment. now I see. so the top part has an extension that goes under the extention from the bottom so that the top part pulls the string down and keeps it in tention. the 4 strings in the corners are support
Pretty slick!
Thank you science wizard.
This is fantastic
This is so cool! ❤
Thank you.
I actually said "holy shit" when you released the table lol
Thank you Jerry
Amazing video
Very well explained❤
Really cool!
Nice explanation grandpa!
edit: Were you bored by the quarantine and decided to make an educational video? would love to see more of this kind of video from you
Thus guy is actually my uncle, and no I don’t think he was bored, he just wanted to educate :)
@@Catskittensmeow your uncle is a legend
Ali Mohanad thank you so much
Grandpa/uncle, dude is way cool!
@@Catskittensmeow that was a very helpful video. Please thank your uncle for me for putting in the time to create it.
Great video to come out on 04/20/2020.
..and I'm now off to search TH-cam for more of these
Great, something actually interesting :)
I understand now thank you
That was neat!
