Congratulations again! And I'm so glad the morning sickness wasn't too terrible, I had morning sickness throughout my ENTIRE pregnancy and could barely keep anything down during the first trimester. But I wouldn't trade it for anything, my baby boy is the biggest blessing 💙 and still blesses me everyday.

As you were speaking about pregnancy after miscarriage you really stated the facts very well. You are nervous and kind of anticipating another loss even when you don’t want one. Feeling blessed and secure in your pregnancy ailments is SUCH truth. It’s not something you can understand really, unless you can relate to it. Thank you for your bravery and transparency. I’m pregnant with my second, and the first time around I got super clear skin, and this time I got acne lol though it seems to be getting better now in the second trimester. Oh man I am HERE for the pregnancy content! I was pregnant jan-sept, and my first trimester I had some morning sickness, but not much because I took naturemade prenatal, which has vitamin b12 to help with nausea. I went off it a few days and boy was I sick! Fried food did not appeal to me at all, and I was thirsty all the time (throughout the pregnancy) praying your pregnancy goes well! I can't wait to see more.
My wife had a very easy pregnancy and in the first trimester she had almost no symptom of pregnancy (particularly no nausea), so we found out she was pregnant when the trimester was almost over. And minutes after we found out she was pregnant I spilled the beans to my parents. Thankfully everything went well. Anyway, I'm happy for you, in spite of our differences, and you make me broody for another baby.
Babies are pretty easy. They cry, they eat, they poop, they sleep. As a father of a teenager all I have to say is nothing, and I mean NOTHING can fully prepare you for just how awesome parenting is. Enjoy these young years, they go by really fast! Congrats to you and Jacob. You two will be great parents.
A little over 10 weeks pregnant and my first ultrasound is tomorrow! Very excited! My twins are 4 years old now and it was a struggle to conceive again and we are feeling very blessed 🙏🏻 So happy for you! Congrats again!

My mom didn’t have very strong symptoms when she was pregnant with me, so I was hopeful that it wouldn’t be too bad, but im so nauseous all day every day and feel so sick with no energy. We grieved a miscarriage prior to this pregnancy and it helped so much when you shared your story, it offered me more support than you could possibly know.

So happy for you! I was sick until week 20. It felt like forever. Huge meat aversions, except beef burgers and fries, something I never ate, all I could think about. Also super tired, and constant dry lips, but I could only use peppermint lip balm everything else felt gross… this has stuck around, I can’t even wear lipgloss. Then in my 7th month I got a cold that didn’t go away until I gave birth. It’s all worth it to have your beautiful baby at the end! 💖💖💖

I ended up with hyperemesis gravidarum (severe nausea) during first trimester. I remember I was on the bus on my way to work and I vomited! You are lucky you haven’t thrown up yet, I hope it stays that way for you !
Hi Abby, you say you had a miscarriage and my mum had one too but can i just suggest that you name your lost baby, you probably did anyway, my mum had an unusual experience many years after her miscarriage, it was twins but she only thought there was one baby, my father found the tiny corpses in the bed and never told her there was two of them until 20 years later! She had called the known one Enda but because she knew nothing of the second one she never named or loved or acknowledged her. Parent's communication wasn't great.

So you were talking about the ultrasound and referred to the doctor as he, and I know my mom also had a male obgyn for I think all of her pregnancies, and I'm not closed off to the idea at all, but if you made the decision to see a male doctor (and maybe you didn't have much of an option, I don't know the situation), what were some factors? Even if you didn't choose him because he was male, what did you look for in an Ob/Gyn doctor? Directed to Abby, but anyone else I'd love to hear too
I actually find male OBGYNs to be way more compassionate and sensitive towards women, probably cause they have seen it all and feel bad for women and just want to help anyway they can. My female OBGYNs have been fine, but they definitely had a different bedside manner.
I'm Jewish, I can answer this. Jews do accept converts, but it depends which denomination. Reform and conservative Jews make it relatively easy to convert, but Orthodox Jews don't consider that a true conversion. Orthodox Jews actually make it hard to convert and discourage people from converting because once you're officially Jewish, you're responsible for keeping 613 mitzvot/commandments. From what I know, aside from many other tasks, potential converts are tested in front of a Jewish court on their knowledge.
The Cetaphil sheer mineral face sunscreen is good and leaves a minimal white cast for a mineral sunscreen. That one is also water resistant. A non-water resistant mineral sunscreen that is great for dryer skin is the Pipette sunscreen (it is also great for babies sensitive skin). I also like using the Vanicream mineral sport sunscreens (spf 30 and spf 50 are both water resistant), but it could be too oily for someone that prefers a matte look. For a matte look, try the Cetaphil one.

I just started my third trimester and I started feeling kicks right about 16ish weeks - it's CRAZY in the best way!

It's definitely a personal preference! I just really liked our OBGYN when I met him and that convinced me!
