It’s Sunday morning at 8 am and what better way to challenge my strength today than watch Joel eat a huge amount of food. I love Mexican food and I eat cheese with my Mexican when I cook it as I love cheese! Will try a layered cheesy quesadilla at some point as it looks delicious.
Prize money issue aside it looked amazing! My mouth is watering looking at the construction of it. I do agree that they should have honoured the original challenge terms as agree to over the phone or notified you earlier before you arrived. While I don’t think you do it for the money, more the enjoyment and challenge I don’t think what they did was fair or right. Hope you enjoyed the food and challenge! Can’t wait to watch the rest.

I'm not in disagreements that it's sketchy practices....but a LOT of restaurants who do cash prizes on challenges usually all have disclaimers that they can change the rules/prizes at any time... if they're changed on you, you at least have the option to not do the challenge or question why they changed it on you when you called in advance. I'm just saying I would be grateful to get any money for the challenge as a lot of them don't offer cash prizes. Usually just free food &/or merch.

They told him just days prior the rules and cash prize which is why he showed up to do it. They did not warn him that they decided to change it and allowed him to travel the entire way to then find out it was a bait and switch. Yes he could backout but he would have lost the time and money traveling and not gotten content so in essence he was forced to do it to recoup the money spent. A car can have fees added to it... But if a dealership advertised a car for $20k and someone shows up to buy it for $20k and now it has a dealer markup of an additional $5k it is a bait and switch. So dealerships now say "starting at" during advertising so they are not locking a specific price into the advertisement and they tend to have an expiration date in the fine print.
