That Goal line run where Jacob's makes a TD...Munford and Johnson made key blocks on linebackers opening up the lane.....and the best part, our team cheering with their fist up and Munford all hyped for the score! That right there is what I live for, every player fighting for each other and celebrating each TD as if they made it!!!!
As a die-hard for 45 years, I’ll say we all knew Jacobs was a beast. We have been perplexed as to the choice of play calling last season and through the first 3 games of this season. He wasn’t being fed the ball. RB’s need to grind to get in the groove. I will say as a fan, I too would not have taken his option this year. He has been hurt every season so far and his durability was in question. I tell all my friends that he will be a Hall of Fame back.. if he can stay healthy.
Jacobs is definitely talented but it's the pride that keeps him strong! I've always believed in him. I couldn't understand the Raiders declining his 5th year option. Strong play is contagious. I noticed several guys who were considered busts step up, namely Clelin Ferrel and Chandler Jones.
The O line doesn't suck like it did the last couple of years. How Jacobs and Carr got scrutiny behind a terrible O line will always baffle me. Also look how good the offense can be in the red zone when the O line isn't committing pre snap penalties. The offense goes as the o line goes and ignoring their lack of discipline and blaming our skill players helps no one.
Jacobs has always been good.. difference in scheme is playing a big part.. yesterday 2nd half offensive rhythm was the best ive seen in a long time..i think Carr just running the plays and not calling audibles was a big reason..
@@RAIDER-sf3wk yeah and Carr has quite a bit of fumbles in recent years because of that bad pass blocking and Jacobs couldn't get out of the backfield without getting touched. The O line is a unit this organization usually has in order and we're getting a lot better there.
Man if they trusted Jacobs in first couple weeks we easily could be tied with chiefs in first division. Let's just keep stacking wins, long season far from over.
We did trust Jacobs and he failed to get the 2 points in the chiefs game the important games he's not good enough when he's running for 154 yards against good teams it really doesn't count if you just beat the bad teams because theirs not many on our schedule... you see no one is talking about us in big media ESPN where everyone watches more then any other sport show now you beat the chiefs the raiders are respected again not the Texans people just think were average period.
Dude, great job breaking it down and helping us understand the terminology and progression on each play. Love this film study and getting better views of our O-Line hard at work. Thank you, Sanjit!
Josh Jacobs was always good but this year he's taken a serious step up from good to great. losing weight and focusing on nutrition etc. really sharpened him up on a whole new level. It's the reason I always say, the best investment an NFL player or really any top level athlete can make with their first paycheck is a nutritionist/chef and proper physical training in the offseason. The thing that is going to pay your bills hopefully for life is doing well in your sport and your body is your tool so you better keep it in the best shape you can and take good care of it.
To see Carr in the pocket And outside the pocket. I've said all season long. Bootleg and roll Carr out. This will aid the oline and Carr. Defenses can no longer key on Carr and him staying in the pocket. Carr.. you gotta do a better job selling that play fake. It still looks weak. He improves this, I'm willing to bet those lbs won't know if it's a fake or not.
I played right tackle, and yes Thayer is way better than I ever was. However, I used to throw my hips inward and make my first step with my left foot choppy. Left hand would go just under their armpit and I’d use their body weight for leverage to dig in to start pushing and maintain the hand fight.
To be fair when he was healthy and we utilized him he was easily a top 5 and he's definitely on track to having his best year possible mvp. Keep feeding him and hopefully he stays healthy
Now that our O-line is taking shape, everyone's game is improving. DC can get to his 2nd and 3rd reads, plays can be executed without much tweaking at the line, and JJ is running with authority. If the O-line struggles, the entire offense goes down with them.
Agree with you 💯. The one thing I would like to see more is the Rookie RB White. Jacobs is beast mode right now but it’s a long season and White has the talent and speed to contribute and make it a 1-2 punch it would only make the offense more aggressive and keep the defense always guessing.
The oline has looked great for several weeks now, mostly in the run game. It seems like it’s carrying over to their pass protection. Hopefully they found the right combination of players. Jacobs has a special ability to set up his runs. He is so patient while also being so violent. Hopefully he can stay healthy and continue weakening defenses deep into January
Scary that the Raiders young offensive line is getting it done with these skill players. See Turner get touches was nice too. Now if the D can build some consistency and Waller and Hobbs can get healthy ☠️☠️☠️
Since last couple of games the way we are running the ball it seems as if we are running grudens play calls as far as running the ball. That is definitely what was working last year. I’m surprised they didn’t take his 5th year after how hard he played last year 🤓🧐😅
I believe this is the reason that they decided to keep so many running backs. It probably got under Jacob's skin and he's running like hell and fury.... This is the same theory that many had with Derek Carr. That if he had a good enough backup quarterback behind him that he would unleash a side of Derek Carr that we haven't seen. I don't think this is McDaniels' first rodeo.
We’ve seemed to have the most success when JJ gets 20+ carries a game. JJ needs 20 at a minimum for our offense to run at optimal efficiency. Feed the beast!
Another great analysis. New run scheme better than previous years which allows the O-line to perform better. Jacobs is a top tier back in the NFL but with his injury history it might be adviseable to rotate the other running backs more often resulting in having a healthier Jacobs for the later part of the season while giving the other backs experience.
The raiders should live and die off the o-line and power run game. Carr is just a fraction late on some of PA those throws... but "the Jacobs Effect" is very apparent!
It's December 2023 and everyone is blaming the OLine for Josh jacobs BASICALLY sucking this whole season. And he's injured now and the raiders are doing better. If they don't wanna blame jacobs then blame the play calls because jacobs gets the ball 90% of the time and does little to nothing to help get a win for the raiders
It's funny to see you giving Josh so many compliments when it wasn't but a few weeks ago you were banging the table to trade him and how he wasn't a factor and wasn't playing good football. Now you're all over the guy. foh.
Josh Jacobs is literally carrying that “potent” offense, which Carr couldn’t do. Too much for an overpaid future back up QB. Notice how most of our run plays goes for positive yards and when we pass, it’s either a sack, thrown over their head or underthrown, or lost of yards. Just like how in the beginning of the game. Started slow because Carr couldn’t do anything. Pay this man Jacobs and tell Carr to take a paycut or get cut. When we go with Carr, our O-line looks trash, WRs can’t catch, because of the quick 3 and outs and settling for FGs, our Defense sucks - Carrsexual fans. When we go with Jacobs touching the ball, our defense gets their rest and plays great, our O-line is doing their job, we scoring TDs and winning games. But Carrsexuals won’t admit to that. 🤦♂️
You don’t pay attention much, do you? Even before Jacobs started going off, we still had a top 10 offense (even with a handful of dropped TD passes). We’ve been one of the top offenses in Time of Possession… and our defense still isn’t good. Denver has one of the worst offenses, and Time of Possession (like NINE 3&outs vs. 49ers), and they still have one of the best defenses. Our defense didn’t get a single stop until the 4thQ… halftime after a long TD drive wasn’t enough rest? A 5:00+ minute drive in the 3rdQ wasn’t enough rest? Carr haters don’t know football.

Loved it. wanted you to look/think about hunter. 160 yards in 4 games. if he continues on that it would be a 700 yard season had he not been injured. I think that (and the fact his skill takes players away.) DOES make him worth it. Considering top Slots in 2017 were about 12m . Salary cap has increased 22% since, Wages of top position players - (from data I could find - RB, QB, WR1, LT) have gone up 34% since 2017. Hunter is at 16m... I think that is market value. AND I think he is worth it. Waller's contract WOULD be more worrying (but I'm not worried)... HE needs to be healthy. I'm not worried because his contract is not SO high that if we don't want him, people wouldn't trade for him if we want to go a different route - after all, his cap hit for the remainder of his contract is 13.2m average which is 6th (and team friendly.) I thought we'd make him highest paid TE in the league. Perhaps this shows there were injury concerns all along. Also Foster and Waller havent been on the field together much. 1 full game together - which WILL have an effect on BOTH there stats. I think THIS is worth looking at in a video.
