@Blake McMahon Well, if Jj did all 5 years, at $95, which he wouldn't nor would the team do, that would be $19 per year. But, $65 mil per year is only $13 million, which all that's fully guaranteed. And that can come from incentives, milestones reached, and bonuses! It's one thing to put numbers out. It's another to actually understand how much is actually being paid. And those numbers are in the ball park of what he is looking for with maybe a bit more in guaranteed money?!?! Since being in the league, he's only had one season where he did not rush for over 1000 yards due to injuries, and even then, he came close. So, even though you, CLEARLY only get stuck on what you can comprehend, there is WAY MORE to those numbers and laying out a contract, then you understand! Thankfully, you're not the GM neither.

Jacobs is a unique RB. He doesn’t have great top end speed. But he makes up for it with a great combination of burst and power, extremely good vision, and balance that’s elite. It seems like second level defenders are always out of position because Jacobs hits the lane very hard, getting through the first level defenders quickly. Then he uses his vision and balance to makes small directional changes that gain him that extra yardage. Imagine if he did have elite top end speed to blow past defensive backs. It would be like a video game. He’s truly a pleasure to watch.

Keep in mind that in the first several games, the O Line was still starting to gel, and McDumbass wasn't feeding JJ regularly... if you go back and watch them, you'll see him dodge or juke a defender immediately after taking the handoff, in the backfield, and somehow manage to turn a loss into a gain!!!

The Raiders ran more power blocking schemes than in previous years, and it helped Jacobs stay healthy. IMO, running backs in offenses that heavily rely on zone blocking schemes tend to get career threatening injuries more often. That’s just my observation.

Jacobs regularly turns 2 yard losses into 6 yard gains - so many times there's a defender in his face at the hand off... one amazing jump cut later and he's sprinting up the field. Personally, I think that the NFL is wrong to "devalue" RBs - the Raiders would have been a 3 win team last season without him.

The GOOD NEWS: He ‘s definitely top three. The BAD NEWS: Even if he was #1, you don’t over pay a RB. They always regress over time, especially after a big pay day, in this modern NFL. I love Josh Jacobs but RB is just not a position to pay above $12M a year and never for more than 2-3 years…no long term deals for RBs approaching 30 yrs old .

Nick Chubb is one of the better RBs in the NFL. No doubt. But he shares the backfield with another very good RB does he not? Jacobs is a lone workhorse who rarely comes off the field. I’m not saying one is better than the other. Jacobs is elite in both zone and power blocking schemes. He hits zone blocking lanes like a power back. And he has the great vision of zone RBs to misdirect the second level defenders on power runs. It’s uncanny. The only thing he lacks is top end speed. If he had it, it would be like watching a video game with him taking to the house on every play.
