OMG I haven't laughed that hard in a while! I came here for Izzy, but y'all definitely have a new fan in me. I gotta go watch and listen to more of your stuff...
frogs are specifically a gen z trans thing because frogs can change their own gender just through sheer will power and desire, and then I think just the image of frogs just spread from there
Bisexuality is the attraction to people of similar gender to you and all ppl of different genders. That's where the 'bi' comes in. Bisexuality is NOT the attraction to cis men and cis women. Though it might manifest so in a cis person, that's not the whole definition. Therefore, pansexuality is encompassed within bisexuality.
@@dcxxxx "two" forms of attraction. To same sex & to not same sex. That's where it comes from, you are both right. It means two kinds attractions, which encompasses everyone/many/all. The reason pansexual came to be was that many people misunderstood "bi" as exclusionary, so people searched for a more intuitive word. Though i've also recently found a great interpretation, that differentiates like this: bi is attraction to people of different genders, pan is attraction without caring for gender.
It’s 2 or more. But it’s not always all. The prefix for Bi is 2 but (and I mean this in the nicest way) for some reason this has to be different than all other things that have Bi in it. All other Bi related words is only 2 never more (so I don’t know where your coming from saying that’s where the “bi” comes in cause this is different). But Bisexual can still be only 2 but it can also be more.
I use to consider myself bi sexual growing up and was out as bi sexual then that started not to feel right and I felt pansexual but then I was getting confused and decided about 5 years ago that was just happy with queer because neither bi or pan seemed quite right.
Kate and Ashley are on the same wavelength I feel but this is just my obsessive podcast and just love and enjoyed this podcast alot. Love Izzy so much and see another side of her and just you get the best guests on your podcast all the time. This is my laughter relief video just can’t stop laughing through this podcast. I love you and Kate so much you play off each other so great. Thank you for making my day and week for sure
I friggin love this pod so much that I'm actually rewatching almost all these TH-cam episodes! 😋 In my rewatching, I want to save u from future cancellation. lol.. I think part of it comes from the video of the guy screaming that were turning the fricken frogs gay. Then we were like, yeah that's right. The frogs ARE gay.
Anyone else notice how extra paranoid Ashley is getting about being "cancelled"? I'm seriously worried it's limiting her creativity in a big way. Her intentions are good and pure and that should be enough for us.
You can be creative without being tone deaf towards marginalized groups of people. Regardless of how kind a person can be. She's been successful this far whilst being aware of her platform. Plus it's basically a joke at this point.
Yeah she mentions it almost every episode. Like I’m all for being PC and being conscientious to not trigger people, but it’s also not healthy for it to become an obsession, and it sounds like it’s near or at that point for her
@@karinagutierrez7134 it’s an ongoing joke that I’d argue probably helps fend off any potential cancellation anyway. I’d hardly say this podcast was muted or not open in what they wanna say. It’s pretty clever way of drawing attention to absurdity of society’s keenness to cancel potentially over like nothing (see: Doja Cat) but also acknowledging that it is important sometimes when you have a platform to neither harm or miseducate when it’s an actual big misstep and opportunity for growth. Ashley understands it really. She’s happy to bring up Jimmy Rainbow, it’s fine it’s all explained and hilarious. But she knows her mannerisms and the fact she’s so open that a lot of people if they hadn’t already might be lining up to cancel her. It’s smart and funny.

just your friendly neighborhood bisexual stopping by to say I'm attracted to enbies (everyone beyond the binary) (and obviously trans people i mean wtf) you don't have to get rid of the bisexual label because you've discovered you are too, being bi means attraction to multiple genders (in my case, all of them!)

@@ashgavs I love this podcast, you're the best and I'm in the middle of binging many episodes. I think it's the section from 12:28 - Izzy sounds like she's saying she's decided she's pansexual not bisexual because she's realised she's attracted to trans and enby people as well - I think it possibly gives the impression that she's saying bisexuality doesn't include attraction to those groups?
Was laughing early on from the beginning, but knew for sure that I was in for Izzy @ 8:11! ABSOLUTELY LOVE this group chemistry. 56:29 FUCK! Kate's stories always end up killing me.
@@amandam5229 honestly there isn't really a difference, some people feel more confortable in one or the other. Maybe the definition of pansexuality is more "being attracted to a person regardless of their gender" vs the definition of bisexuality aknowledges gender. When I was bisexual, my definition of it was "being attracted to my gender and to the other genders". Anyway, as you can see the nuance is very slight and nobody really agrees lmao
I relate so hard. I connect with the bi label and not the pan one but that absolutely does not mean I’m not attracted to trans and non binary people. Also I may be wrong but I think it’s especially hard for trans men and women- for example I’ve seen situations when someone identifies as straight and are told they are pansexual if they fall for a trans person when that person is of the gender they are attracted to. Not saying that it isn’t hard for non binary people as well (sadly today a lot of things are made difficult for non binary people) but that specific phenomenon really annoys me.
RE: the bar mitzvah & choosing your own gender party... I can't recommend Becky Chambers (author) Wayfarer series highly enough (starting with book 1: The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet). And there is a species (because it includes not only human but other species across the galaxy) or two that chooses their gender once they come of a certain age. Becky Chambers is a fucking champ.
the laru! i thought of them, too, while they were talking! i LOVED the whole thing in the fourth book with ouloo and tupo! the way she talked about tupo growing up and getting to choose a gender and throwing a whole party for xyr was just awesome. i just finished reading this series, it's so good. also same hat on the autistic front--the way becky chambers writes, especially in a closed and common orbit, was like "yep. finally. a book/series that feels right for how my brain works." all of the world building was incredible, too. so much fun. i also cried a bunch. just absolutely brilliant.
