I was hoping you would again show your clever window displays of the past! I love how you put together the scenes of the past. I remember the department store Windows in our town when I was younger - Priehs Department store in My Clemens. I did see your window in person last year. Hope again to see live this year! I absolutely love the windows this year! The gingerbread cookies in the oven (with some missing-did they run away?), the blow molds, the silver tree, just everything! :) Love, love, love. Wish all of you the best for the holiday season.

OMG....Christmas 1962! I was 14 years old and clearly remember so many of those items in your windows, both in my parents' home and under our Christmas tree(s). The radio is older than I but the nativity scene atop it was part of that same home for years and years and YEARS. What a trip down memory lane your windows evoke for me this morning

Thank you for that video. It brought back warm Christmas memories. My aunt had one of those silver metal Christmas trees and she had one of those rotating color wheels shining on it, throwing different colors on the tree. My grandmother had one of those ceramic Christmas trees. Merry Christmas.

Thank you for creating those wonderful displays. A great way to share your collections with the public. I particularly like the old radio and the records, both of which I collect. I've been listening to them and doing my holiday cookie baking and giving the Kitchen-Aid mixer a workout. I remember going to Charlotte, NC to see the store windows at Ivey's downtown and to do Christmas shopping. I was 4 in 1962. We never put up an aluminum tree, but we did have a green prickly bottle brush one. I remember one lady on the way to town had a sunroom with an aluminum tree in it and it was always fascinating to drive by at night and look at it change color. Merry Christmas!

The windows look great. I would have loved to see the kids admiring your handiwork. A rotating tree stand would really make your aluminum tree sparkle. My mother made those ceramic Christmas trees but I never was privy to them. Have a great holiday this year and all the best for 22.

The Christmas tree behind Mom's sewing machine is the most-like the ones we always had in our living room, with the standard C-7 bulbs. I still insist on them to this day. But, we also had an Ever-gleem aluminum tree for the basement and for entertaining down there as well. Mom bought "fuschia"-colored ornaments for it...her favorite color. I miss Mom and Dad.
The RCA 45-player is really cool , . . . I have a similar bakelite model, but the lit-up Airline console steals the show of that last window. . . from a Christmas I didn't get to enjoy and can only dream of.

Especially now. Believe it or not I'm now at 50. I remember talking to a high school friends mother, who is back in Michigan in 2011, I currently been living in California since 1998, her saying there's a time in your life when you stop counting years and start counting decades.

This is simply an overload of JOY!!! I love vintage ceramic Christmas trees- I have a vintage ceramic Christmas wreath, but would love to get a tree as well!
The typewriter under the tree was so cute, along with the Firestone Christmas vinyl record... was that the pink one? I'd love to find a copy of it one day as well!
You guys do such phenomenal work putting these beautiful windows together, and I really appreciate you sharing them on youtube! If I was in your community, I would certainly be standing at those windows regularly and admiring them year after year! 😊

At 8:18 you hit the nail on the head about ceramic Christmas Trees! In the 1950s, my mom made one in ceramics class, along with a Nativity scene --- and it looks like she used the same molds as your figures, seen at 8:44 in this video ʕ•́؈•̀ʔ
Hi Albert - I'll bet most ceramics studios used the same molds. I've seen variations in sizes, but I think there just a few different styles of trees. Thanks!

Happy New Year 2022 guys! Request - can you cook duck sometime. My mom would cook ducks using apples etc, but I live in California now and everyone says to use oranges. I would like to see how your moms’ prepared duck breast Michigan style and Mexican style “patos”. Thanks and again - happy ‘22! 😀 🦆

I love your Christmas display. Growing up in Philadelphia Pa , Lit Bothers Department Store would offer the spirit of Christmas display. It was called the Enchanted Village. What a neat train display you have .

I have been researching recipes for slow braised pork ribs in sauerkraut and would love to see your take on this dish!! So many variations from adding bacon, apples, caraway, carrots, potatoes, paprika... so many ideas. It reminded me somewhat of your Kapusta recipe you made over 10 years ago, but without using so much sauerkraut and using ribs instead of neck bones. I have been obsessed with developing a recipe myself!! 😋
Just a thought... I have no idea what you have planned or if you follow a strict set of scheduled episodes, but I felt like putting my two cents worth in!!!😊😊
I also purchased a fermentation crock several months ago and have been enjoying making my own sauerkraut at home... that could be some interesting content idea... maybe? Anyways... I hope you are all doing well!! Take care and have a safe and enjoyable 2022.
Hi Greg! Happy New Year to you!! Ribs in sauerkraut sounds so good! Something about those ribs cooking in the kraut that I know would taste great. There have been a few times when I was making kapusta and could not get pork neck bones (not everyone carries them) and so when this happens I will substitute either country ribs or some think pork chops, but something with a pork bone. I love that you have a crock and are making your own sauerkraut! It is something I've wanted to try but have yet to do. I have a couple of my grandmother's old crocks - I think one is a 5 or 6 gallon. Thanks for the great suggestions!! Hope you have a happy and healthy 2022!!

Although, beside the other tree, I noticed a vintage box fan there. It’s almost winter time, why a fan lol?

I guess we normally wouldn't need a fan going on Christmas (at least in Michigan!) but there are a couple of fans in the window because every once in a while, when it's really cold outside, the windows will start to fog up and when this happens the fans will clear the windows in a few minutes, so I keep them at the ready! Good day, I was hoping you could help me. I just purchased an I believe 1948 Frigidaire ‘RK-70 from an elderly woman. However, once of the 6in coil has a small crack and one oven takes forever to heat up. Oh where oh where can I find parts for this ol gal? TY💗
Hi Bella - I regularly see burners for older Frigidaire ranges available on eBay. These are known as radiantube type burners. Enjoy your vintage range!
