im in all honesty shocked theres no mention of the saturation trilogy by brockhampton, that album run was lightning in a bottle (even though iridescence by brockhampton is still my fav) and honestly had the rap space in a chokehold for a good year while each installation released, definitely up there for consideration for a perfect 3 album run
Don't forget Amnesiac. And honestly, you could argue Hail to the Thief which would lead to In Rainbows, a SIX album run. And personally I love TKOL so in my eyes it's a eight album run but realistically it ends at four
Pink Floyd with Dark side of the moon, Wish you were here, Animals, and the wall are 4 of the best albums of all time let alone to all come out consecutively. Choosing any of these 3 is definitely acceptable.
Black Midi - Schlagenheim, Cavalcade, Hellfire. The only argument against it for me could be Cavalcade isn't as polished of a listen as Schlagenheim or Hellfire, but I think the experiments they pulled more than made up for it when it came to my enjoyment of the album.

Arctic Monkeys' run of Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not, Favourite Worst Nightmare and Humbug, which are by the way their first three albums, is absolutely perfect for me and it portrays the evolution of the band's sound and creative abilities.
ik this isn’t really your style but i think the first three mcr albums is a perfect run. the way it starts with a really raw stripped back almost screamo sound with the most metal/hardcore influences with bullets, and then transitions to one of the most influential pop punk albums of all time with three cheers, and then finishing off with their most creative and also commercially successful album in the black parade. i think it shows a great amount of growth, and it’s also all that was envisioned when they started the band. danger days wasn’t supposed to happen (but i love it sm anyways)
A few of my favorite 3 runs are Pearl Jam - ten, vs, vitalogy Ozma - rock and roll pt3, doubble donkey disk, spending time on the borderline Metallica - ride the lightning, master of puppets, …and justice for all Rush - 2112, farewell to kings, hemispheres

King Gheedorah - Take Me to Your Leader, Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain, Madvillain - Madvillainy. All various DOOM aliases. By some coincidence they're probably my three favorite releases of his, and I think they get better as they go along. Take Me To Your Leader is my preferred album using the Operation Doomsday sound pallete, which is a bit lighter and more vintage sounding than the more iconic DOOM sound. This album is atmospheric as hell, filled with '60s monster movie samples that evokes a warm yet subtly eerie sound. DOOM also takes a bit more of a directorial position where other rappers contribute heavily to many of the songs. This album isn't super popular and yet I just love it, and I find myself listening to it a lot. Vaudeville Villain and the Viktor Vaughn persona in general is probably the furthest DOOM experimented from his core sound, and it's an experiment that pays off really well. The beats and atmosphere on here are uniquely cold and uninviting, and the character that DOOM plays feels a lot more brash; younger; hungrier. And the rapping on this project matches that, probably the most technically proficient of his discography. There's not much else to say about this thing. The aesthetic is great, the performances are great, even the interludes are surprisingly creative and entertaining. Most importantly, the songs are just great. Madvillainy is Madvillainy. I have nothing to say about this record that hasn't already been said; it's so lush and colorful, DOOM and Madlib have such good chemistry with their creative vision, you almost would't be able to tell it was a collaborative album. The storytelling is great, the atmosphere is great, the flow of the album is pheneomenal. One of my favorite albums of all time.
$uicideboy$ have a perfect run in my eyes with: I Want To Die In New Orleans Stop Staring At The Shadows Long Term Effects Of SUFFERING With IWTDINO being the most grimey, painful of the bunch, akin to thier previous work but more refined. SSATS starts to build and explore a new sound. And finally with LTEOS, the boys show both their growth as artists and people. All 3 projects are distinctly $B, yet each has a distinct sound that builds on the last, showing what their unique story and sound can do with refinement and growth in an amazing way only they can do right

flower boy has some misses but its a damn good run
For Emma forever ago, self titled, 22 A Million by Bon Iver is my perfect run
A run I feel definitely deserved to be on here was OutKast's run of "ATLiens" "Aquemini" and "Stankonia"
im in all honesty shocked theres no mention of the saturation trilogy by brockhampton, that album run was lightning in a bottle (even though iridescence by brockhampton is still my fav) and honestly had the rap space in a chokehold for a good year while each installation released, definitely up there for consideration for a perfect 3 album run
YES
Easily best three album run consistency wise it’s unbelievable especially within a few months, roadrunner is actually my favorite though
Honestly was waiting for someone to mention brockhampton in the comments and I’m bummed to find out it’s not even in the video lmfao
booooooooooo
L
The bends -> ok Computer -> kid A
Probably the best 3 album run in music history.
Don't forget Amnesiac. And honestly, you could argue Hail to the Thief which would lead to In Rainbows, a SIX album run. And personally I love TKOL so in my eyes it's a eight album run but realistically it ends at four
If in rainbows came after kid A I would agree. Bends is kinda ok tbh
Why do people forget that Pablo honey is straight heat? The first 3 radiohead albums is a fucking great run.
bends is better?@@ihavebraindamage4445
In Rainbow sucks
Little Dark Age is one of the best albums of the last decade. Graydon needs to listen to that.
Yes
Yes
Yes
Yes
you could even say he needs to listen to it all alone, open eyed
Pink Floyd with Dark side of the moon, Wish you were here, Animals, and the wall are 4 of the best albums of all time let alone to all come out consecutively. Choosing any of these 3 is definitely acceptable.
Black Midi - Schlagenheim, Cavalcade, Hellfire. The only argument against it for me could be Cavalcade isn't as polished of a listen as Schlagenheim or Hellfire, but I think the experiments they pulled more than made up for it when it came to my enjoyment of the album.
Great run! I think I like cavalcade the most though lol
@@benjammin8919 no shame in that at all! I'm just saying from like from a production standpoint it's mixed alot sloppier, which in its case I think can even enhance the listen. I think it's supposed to feel abrasive and similarly mixed
Yeah it’s really close, I think I agree cavalcade is what tanks it just barely from being perfect but otherwise extremely solid
I don't get why everyone says that. Cavalcade is my favorite and I'm not super big on Hellfire.
@@nauruball5162 it comes down to production. Cavalcade's production just isn't as nuanced as Hellfire or Schlagenheim's, with it's sloppier and hotter mix. Some people might find it amateur feeling, I personally took it as a stylistic choice because the overall mood of cavalcade is so hectic, but I definitely could understand people taking issue with it.
Whatever people say I am, that’s what I’m not, favourite worst nightmare, humbug
Jimi Hendrix’s 3 albums, Velvet Underground’s first 3 albums, Joanna Newsom’s first 3, Kanyes first 5, any Beatles album post 1965, any Bladee album, Frank Ocean’s albums & Led Zeppelin albums are the greatest runs off the top of my head
Floyd has left the chat
one of these things is not like the others
@@Jonathannovak1 which one?
Definitely agree with Led Zeppelin
dark side of the moon, wish you were here, and animals is the best three album run in music.
second place is meddle, dark side of the moon, and wish you were here.
the fact stevie wonder wasn't even discussed in this video (Innervisions, Fulfillingness First Finale, and Songs In The Key of Life) is a complete disservice to music.
Kendrick got the perfect 4 album run going
Fr
Perfect 5, but that's just my opinion
@@titan9717perfect 6 with untitled unmastered
@@alguiencualquiera6217he doesn't have a bad album, so 7
@@titan9717section 80 and UU wasn't quite perfect imo
Denzel's streak is literally perfect, how dare you
I AM THE ONE
my fav part is that wasn't even a 3 album run, they forgot UNLOCKED
If it was Taboo, unlocked, MME, then it would be perfect imo. But it obv doesn’t work like that
@@commas1u gotta be smoking that ancient ronald reagen era kush
32:11 WOOOOWWWW YEAH I SCREAMED OF JOY
JID!!!! The Never Story, to DiCaprio 2, to The Forever Story has been flawless to me
imo this is already one of the greatest 3 album runs in rap ever, and if jidtro and FAAD are as good as im hoping they will be we'll have 5 perfect albums IN A ROW
Riley saying Kendrick dosent have that perfect run is criminal
frank ocean will have a perfect three album run if he ever releases again. mark my words. channel orange and blonde are already two of the greatest albums ever made and i think this follow up will live up to the hype
if you count endless you already got a 3 streak
at least imo its just as good as the other 2
@@RafaelSouza-pr4gs L , not even close..... The first two , production on them , was way more engaging and lyrics too , not to mention the amount of years it took to make it and output doesn't match. if he releases it as it is without improvising, I will be hella disappointed... I will always prefer first two.
@@arshitmangi4783 Endless is better than channel orange, the synths are so spacey, giving you a feeling of longing and the production is so unique but in a good way.
@@arshitmangi4783 technically blonde dropped after endless...
Plus Endless might be his best project
I would have chosen my three album run, it’s hasn’t come out yet, but the ideas and sounds I have created in my head are like game changing music. The features I acquired, then new sounds I experimented with, Stellar. Once I learn how to create music, boy you are in for a hell of a ride.
Bro that Yahty feature was gas. I definitely see the vision
Paramore’s riot, brand new eyes, and self-titled is a perfect run that shows a lot of progression in their sound
I was thinking they exact same thing. They are all great albums
The perfect 3 Album run is Pink Floyd’s Dark Side/Wish You were here/Animals
JID got a perfect 3 run with The Never Story, Dicaprio 2 and The Forever story
Loved his 2022 release too!! he dont miss
The Never Story is the weakest link here 🥴
My favorite two off the top of my head
Muse:
Origin of Symmetry
Absolution
Black Holes and Revelations
Queens of the Stone Age:
Rated R
Songs for the Deaf
Lullabies to Paralyze
I think bjorks run of post, homogenic, and vespertine is easily a perfect 3 album run. Also if we're only counting studio albums, Sufjan Stevens Illinois, age of adz, and then Carrie and Lowell is technically a 3 album run, and that's also a perfect 3 album run imo
ur mom is better
i was gonna say thatttt, even if björk only dropped those three albums she'd still be the goat
Bjork take is a W
OutKast have a perfect three album run imo, ATLiens - Aquemini - Stankonia
so glad to hear some respect for folie a deux. one of the few albums from my childhood i can return to and still holds up imo, and i agree it’s massively underrated
for as unfortunate as the breakup was, what a catch donnie felt like such a perfect encapsulation of that era of fall out boy
god i love mach hommy
Peggy has a perfect run imo. Crazy how under appreciated he still is now
kendrick's 3 album run is perfect.
Definitely
Nah , if you think damn is perfect you just lack the taste. It had songs like Duckworth, Pride ,lust , dna,xxx humble which were really great. But it had hella lot of below average songs and was not really an album. More like a mixtape. It was so over the place. You people overhyped it so much that Kendrick stopped getting to the level where he used to reach. For your biased reviews we will never get another gkmc and tpab
@@arshitmangi4783 I think section 80 is better than damn so they should’ve just used that instead of damn
💯
@@lyric1062 facts
Now GKMC, TPAB, and untitled unmastered is a perfect 3
Nah DAMN is objectively a way better project than UU. No need to sound like Fantano
Miles Davis has one too: In A Silent Way -> Bitches Brew -> A Tribute to Jack Johnson is pretty much perfect as well!
Californication, By The Way, and Stadium Arcadium is an unreal alternative run
all of them have some crazy duds
Let’s not forget that legendary Michigan native Boldy James dropped Manger On MicNichols, The Versace Tape and The Price Of Tea In China all back to back in the same year with the last two of these three being produced by The Alchemist.
Versace tape is produced by Jay Versace
Jpegmafia's run is perfect imo. Those albums in 10 years will still sound like they're from the future
Channel Orange, Endless, Blonde pretty good 3 run
Respect to Graydon for saying Bob Dylan is his favourite artist of all time. That Dylan run is absolutely a perfect three album run. He has more great albums than any other artist ever. Even his run of Time out of Mind - Love & Theft - Modern Times from 1997 to 2006 is possibly a perfect 3 album run.
Seasons 1 - 3 of Spongebob is a perfect 3 album run
1. Savage Mode.
Showed us what 21 is capable of and how great of a producer Metro really is.
2. I am > I was.
Unpopular opinion, but this is 21s best album. He was very mature in tracks like a lot and letter 2 my momma.
3. Savage Mode II.
Talking about where he came from and 21 was really himself here. Also showed that metro is one of the greatest rap producers of all time.
beyonce's self-titled, lemonade and renaissance is a perfect album run to me!
amen
A perfect 3 run could be Deftones' Around The Fur - White Pony - S/T or KoЯn's S/T - Life Is Peachy - Follow The Leader
Can’t believe Vampire Weekend gets a shout for the perfect Run! Thank you Riley for giving them their flowers
Arctic Monkeys' run of Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not, Favourite Worst Nightmare and Humbug, which are by the way their first three albums, is absolutely perfect for me and it portrays the evolution of the band's sound and creative abilities.
Operation: Doomsday, MM... FOOD, Madvilliany, by DOOM is a perfect run
I guesss it is about perspective. To me, that is not the same artist. Like different character from an actor
Not a run
ik this isn’t really your style but i think the first three mcr albums is a perfect run. the way it starts with a really raw stripped back almost screamo sound with the most metal/hardcore influences with bullets, and then transitions to one of the most influential pop punk albums of all time with three cheers, and then finishing off with their most creative and also commercially successful album in the black parade. i think it shows a great amount of growth, and it’s also all that was envisioned when they started the band. danger days wasn’t supposed to happen (but i love it sm anyways)
Idk how Dignan had a perfect 3 album run when he’s never even released an album but who am I to argue 💯
He made the “anatomy OF THE brain slug” in ‘74
A few of my favorite 3 runs are
Pearl Jam - ten, vs, vitalogy
Ozma - rock and roll pt3, doubble donkey disk, spending time on the borderline
Metallica - ride the lightning, master of puppets, …and justice for all
Rush - 2112, farewell to kings, hemispheres
As a big ole Vampire Weekend fan, it really tickled my gizzard hearing y’all talk about loving them. Not surprising tho since the hiveboys never miss 😤
2 perfect album runs -
Blu & Exile - Below the Heavens, Give me my flowers, Miles
Natalia Lafourcade - Musas Vol. 1, Musas Vol. 2, Un Canto Por Mexico Vol. 1
The severe lack of the bends, ok computer, kid a, is crazy

Smino's 3 albums (blkswn, NOIR, Luv 4 Rent) and JID's 3 albums (the never story, dicaprio 2, the forever story) are both perfect in my eyes. Saba's 3 (bucket list project, care for me, few good things) is super close but there are definitely misses on bucket list when he was still finding his sound
Strongly agree with JID. Just recently into smino so haven’t heard all his stuff yet but what I’ve heard so far is great

It's not all by the same artist, but Daytona, Ye and Kids See Ghosts is a perfect trifecta to me.
I'm surprised there's no mention of Linkin Park with Hybrid Theory, Meteora, and Minutes to Midnight. Incredible first 3 albums, each very successful with multiple hit singles.
Belle and Sebastian’s first 3 albums is a perfect run: tigermilk, if you’re feeling sinister, the boy with the arab strap
Strongly agree with this, and also did not expect to see a B&S reference in these comments.
Rubber Soul, Revolver and Sgt. Peppers by the Beatles.
Injury Reserve 3 album run:
1. Floss
2. Self Titled
3. By The Time I Get To Phoenix
Love y'all's funny stuff but also love just hearing y'all talk about music
$uicideboy$ have a perfect run in my eyes with:
I Want To Die In New Orleans
Stop Staring At The Shadows
Long Term Effects Of SUFFERING
With IWTDINO being the most grimey, painful of the bunch, akin to thier previous work but more refined.
SSATS starts to build and explore a new sound. And finally with LTEOS, the boys show both their growth as artists and people. All 3 projects are distinctly $B, yet each has a distinct sound that builds on the last, showing what their unique story and sound can do with refinement and growth in an amazing way only they can do right
incredibly surprised MF DOOM wasn’t mentioned. i would say it’s debatable he would have a perfect 6 album run, except venomous villian, so i would have to go with: spices and herbs, madvilliany, and mm..food
I honestly think that the Saturation trilogy from Brockhampton is perfect
