I just want to point out how OLD ITALIAN technique is the ONLY way you can be expressive in theater. As a pop singer (i.e. With a mic) you can be expressive even with a mosquito voice, even just whispering (mind u, I said "expressive", non "a good singer") but not in opera houses. You can't touch people's hearts without a good solid (maybe not perfect but who cares) stable technique that permits you to play with colors, dynamics, rhythm and all the rest.
