Сам восстанавливал и 30-ти, и 40-ка летнюю технику, и с помоек, и со свалок, и даже 20-летних "утопленников", ну не выглядит оно так, НЕ ВЫГЛЯДИТ!

Broke it that far down and didn’t even lap the valves, hone the cylinder or check/replace rings. All that work and it may still have compression so low it won’t pull itself down a level street.

This reminds me of a 50cc Honda mini-trail I had to ride on between frequent tinkerings and plug cleanings.. burned oil.. (valve guides worn sloppy), must be same basic design and configuration.

Correct. A rebuild requires all new internals and bearings. He even reused the old piston / rings. All that work / time wasted if you ask most. But it runs I guess.

This is not a restoration, just cleaning... Not grinding the valve seats, no new piston rings at least, not a single new bearing... These parts cost nothing to replace, this was just a cleaning.

My thoughts exactly - cleaning an engine up doesn't necessarily make it work better. No measurement of wear or tolerances, no torquing etc, Why go to all the trouble of a full strip down and clean and not check and replace parts???

А мне вот интересно, как нержавеющий сплав снаружи оказался наглухо ржавым, а внутри, где как раз от долгого простоя и должна была быть ржавчина, даже несмотря на масло, особенно, учитывая то, как двигатель, якобы, был уделан внешне, нет и следа ржавчины. Цепи, шестерни, котел, поршень, все блестит. Предположу, что автор обрабатывает изделия, а потом, якобы, реставрирует. Неплохой такой развод )))

@@dereksmyth4868 When restoring a very old engine its best to check on all the components of an engine. Especially if you don't know the history of it. The Gaskets were needing to be replaced and cleaned off at a minimum so pulling it all apart is somewhat necessary. But also its about enjoying the restore and learning along the way. Not just trying to make something look pretty for camera.

Неа, это Honda super cub, мотор - дааа, очень живучий) Я делал такому "краштест", 110 кубов, просто снял фильтр, и гонял так. Сказать честно - офигел от результата, он всё ещё ходит, уже 2ой год, езжу почти каждый день, одно что, вывел его под сиденье (у меня альфа, но с таким же, только китайским, двигателем), и не так давно наводил ревизию, шестерня 3ей передачи слизалась, пока вскрывал, обнаружил, что цилиндр, в идеале, есть только одна коцка, и то, я отлично понимаю где я её заработал, когда ещё не был выведен воздух, ехал за камазом по гравийке, сам понимаешь, пыль, все дела, ну и втянул кажись дрянь какую то, но всё ещё едет, и вполне бодро!
