    As a firearm historic amateur it does Joy to my heart to see the correct rifles in the correct locations & time. The steyr M95's rifle used by infantry and the stutzen's for the cavalry. The gewehr 98 has an UNBLUED reciever, wich is 100% accurate. ww1 gewehr 98's did not had that! The mosin nagant at 4:04 is period correct, as it is not an m91-30. I have a question for you. My great grandfather was a Ukrainian conscripted into the Red Army, he lost some of his fingers in an accident while loading his gun I believe. I've been searching for what it could be to no avail and the only thing I've found is the PTRD, but that thing just explodes. I don't know if it was a Mosin, but that seems most likely. Do you have any idea what it would be?

    • @F4Wildcat
      @F4Wildcat ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@Real_Mick3y6 Do you think it might be the PTRS? its a semi-auto anti tank rifle, if a cartridge would premature detonate before the bolt closed or he would got his fingers into the action, thats a recipe for losing his fingers.

      They first appeared after WW2 when government has banned pistols and full-auto weapons,and was taking away war trophies(mostly firearms) from civilians.
      People were allowed to keep rifles so then they have started to make "pistols" to kill deputies

    very interesting review, but I would a bite correct it.
    initially Ukraine was independent (other name is Ruthenia | Rus | Kyivan Rus)
    and later (from 13 to 17 centuries) with Lithuania and in the first Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth - Ukraine (other name is Ruthenia or Rus) was a full-fledged partner, a subject and not the possessions of others.
    during Soviet times, Russian propaganda distorted the history of the Lithuanian-Ruthenia state formation and the first Polish-Lithuanian-Ruthenia Commonwealth. as a result, many international historians who have taken research from Moscow have such a Soviet lens and perspective.

      @@hryhoriinikonchuk5004 you can make that argument very easily. Our modern perception of Italy and Germany as we know it only existed until the 19th century. Before then it was a wide assortment of different kingdoms many of the times often fighting each other. Speaking languages, while similar, are different enough. As kingdoms unify, the languages also unify. What at one point many different languages and dialects, one dominates. In Spain for example, the Castelian dominated and became what we know as Spanish despite the many many related languages and dialects.
      Sometimes these languages are extremely different from their modern day counterparts they evolved into.
      Unfortunately history is never cut and dry. Sometimes the ancient civilizations that settled in the soil you live on today are completely unrelated to you or sometimes can be determined to be your direct ancestors. Sometimes you can be related to them, but so can a lot of other nations in the region.
      Kievan/Kyivan Rus is related to Russia and Belarus as it is to Ukraine despite it being located in the general geographic area of modern day Ukraine. Even the Finnish and the Swedes can claim some sort of relation and decendance from the Kievan/Kyivan Rus.
