The state and/or county and maybe even city will come fine you if you don’t have defensive space around your home, but the same state, county, or city do NOTHING to mitigate fire danger on their own land. Then we get these big fires… and our insurance raised or canceled these days because of these fires. Keep in mind that 46% of CA land mass is public land. Of that 46%, 90% is Federal. It isn't just a state issue.
