Not a fan of Nico, but he did finish the game by taking down the level 99 Boss, and did it largely through mental toughness. Really respect that in athletes and especially race drivers.
Please do not restrict to an hour. If you restrict it we get less of the product we enjoy. The jovial and friendly talk/disagreement in a pub type atmosphere. Please especially in F1 drought times please go as long as it naturally takes. Great work fellas!
@@omzal-sudani8878 restricting to an hour means not everyone can get their extensive thoughts and ideas, they are less likely to go down tangents and on top of that we get less of what we love, the crew talking about F1. Mansell did not knock the car out of gear with his elbow in Montreal, or, as rumors of the time claimed, accidentally turn off the fuel supply. According to Williams engineers, he was waving to the crowd and let the engine revs fall to a level low enough to stall the car, which was a vulnerability of the Renault power train at the time. And they did have paddle shift in 1991 - it debuted in Mansell’s Ferrari at the start of 1989. I can’t help agreeing that he was a consistently more formidable competitor over multiple WDC fights than Nico, but that’s another matter
Thanks for the video clips in the show notes, odd seeing the old F1 Logo again. We had same view, but with NBC Sports commentary. I still remember the 2016 Spain incident commentary something like: Steve Matchett said 'Mercedes has just thrown away a chance of a perfect season.' before the cars had even stopped moving. This was quickly followed by the comment reporting 'Niki Lauda is fuming and has 100% blamed Lewis Hamilton for this shunt'. Then they all went up the stairs for that impromptu emergency meeting. Later Toto came out for his official statement with a more conciliatory tone.
He is underrated because of: 1. Some said he beat a way off primed Schumacher 2. Luck to be a champion in the same cars. I think Schumacher was still in his primed condition in 2010-2012. Why? A driver/rider/athlete no longer in his/her prime if he/she lose or doesn't have enough of energy, movement capacity, reaction times, spatial awareness, mental strength, and etc. to show his/her absolute best. Can someone tell which of them Schumacher lacked therefore he wasn't in his prime 2010-2012?
@@missedapexf1 No doubt about it. I think the fact that he was, at his very best, able to hang with Hamilton, get under his skin, and eventually beat him very much bolsters his case. Plus the mic drop was a baller move. Brilliant driver.
Raikkonen was quite good in 2007 as well. Not up there with his McLaren years, but he did a very decent job in adapting to new team/tires that year, when all other circumstances are taken into consideration. As for Rosberg being the greatest 1 time champion, it's close between him, Button and Raikkonen. Much closer between him and Raikkonen (Mansell was bad pre-1986, also was never really the best driver alongside Prost/Senna). Raikkonen had the highest peak of all 1 time champions I would say, alongside Rindt. But he had some bad lows (08, 14, 15, 17, 21). Rosberg never really had the long career that Raikkonen had, as he burned out after 2016. Button didn't have the peak of Raikkonen, and Rindt's career was WAY too short. Overall, I would say it's very close between Rosberg and Raikkonen, as Rosberg performed consistently at the top level, but obviously didn't have the long career that Raikkonen had.
Only during the 2006->2009 F1 campaign was Nico viewed as underrated. That was only due to Lewis and Sebastian's performances as the new comers to F1. But after beating Michael and all the Journo's getting inside detail on his performance at Mercedes. I'd say he went into 2014 not only rated, but almost overrated due him being labeled as the "Engineering Minded" and the "Cerebral" driver due to the complexity of the 2014 cars.
Keke Rosberg is under rated as he got a tittle with the stupid best of 6 results count rule. It is just one tittle Nico won and he only just beat Lewis. But one tittle is better than no Tittles like most of the drivers in F1.
Lewis had a cracked chassis in 2013 and that was when Rosberg was able to out qualify him. Once they replaced his chassis with a new one he was faster than Rosberg again.
Nico is really only underrated by newcomers to F1 and salty LH fans who hate to see anybody beat him. Those who actually paid attention know what's up.
Overrated they gave him Hamilton s mechanics to rosberg, Hamilton had all kinds of failures. Then they put a brand new engine and he was winning and it failed otherwise he would have had an over 25 points lead and the champ total fluke😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Rosberg had plenty of failures in previous seasons but nobody talks about those because the media didn’t emphasise them. Going up against Lewis is a nightmare and not many drivers would be able to compete at all over a season, failures included. At least Nico had the right mentality of ‘throw the kitchen sink’ at the problem when a title winning car came his way, unlike his replacement who is an embarrassment to the term racing driver. I give Nico credit for fighting tooth and nail for his title, even if he was clinging on to the lead by a thread at the end, he deserved what he got.
@@missedapexf1 enough to comment, not enough to watch the video:) (who am I kidding, I'll probably watch it sometime later) Rosberg is a good pundit, other than that, the only underated thing about him is his irrelevance in the sport

Do we know why there is a hard limit on 1hr?
I think there's something about it in The Concorde agreement, but it can neither be confirmed nor denied.
I would just like to say for my record Damon hill won two drivers titles in 95 and 96 for reasons we all know very well

I watched F1 in a local BAR and was the only Nico Rosberg fan. The rest of the club where Lewis Fans so i had a lot of stick from other members.
I like how you went so deep down the Rosberg Vs Hamilton rabbit hole when surely the point wasn't to compare him to Lewis Hamilton 😂
I said up front I thought that ended up defining him
