glad i came across your channel. I have a 2018 2SS 1LE and a 2000 RCSB the same color as your I just picked up that I’ll be LS swapping. good stuff man
Silverado SS, 1500 with ‘Vortec Max’ Escalade and denalis have LQ9’s. LQ4’s are in 2500’s ect. Only difference is compression ratio. LQ4s have a dish piston, LQ9 has a flat top pistons. 243, 799,706 heads or whatever have a far smaller combustion chamber and more than make up for the dish pistons. It’s just compression ratio. That’s it. Throw the 317 heads in the trash unless you’re going to make big boost on pump gas.
I’ve said this countless times in previous videos. Everything you mentioned is easily googled. 317 heads are irrelevant when you are no longer messing around with stock component’s
Don't some escalades come with the lq4? Cuz escalades (excluding the 02) all have the 6000 vortec engine cover but the escalade esv platinums have the vortec max engine cover. Is that just an appearance package or are the motors actually different between regular escalades vs platinum models
Vhautoaz sells actual clear tail lights heard lots of bad things but if they don’t scam they should work I just bought a pair and I’m hoping they alright just letting u know since you’re changing them
Hey bro. Awsome build!! What size are your long tube headers? I had an 1 7/8 but had to bang it a little to get the driver side to fit because of the steering shaft.
Wanting to do a 2/4 drop on my Silverado. Torn between drop spindles or a qa1 coilovers kit. On one of your earlier video, you said if you had to do it again you'd go a different route. What route would that be?
Dyno tuned? What are your head specs? Dyno #s? Trying to gather info for gmt800 1500s with 6L swapped to see whp for my Tahoe. But is only comfy vehicle out of 7 I own and don't want to over cam it, but would like to hit 400whp with a cam as "tame" as possible. I have cars that chop. I don't need my comfy daily to chop. But beig LQ9 that has same flat top pistons as an LS2, I have both LS2 and 823 heads. So a mild cam version of the GM LS364 crate is also a possibility. And with rect port heads, porting is more to clean up obstructions vs cathedral heads since porting 823s with a mild cam is overkill lol
Wzup Bro, I have a 2000 Silverado 4x4 extended cab that I'm rebuilding. You have more rebuild experience than I do and I would really appreciate your feedback on this question. What are your thoughts on daily driving with 24's vs 22's?
Never had either size on anything that I’ve owned. A lot of people daily 22’s so I think it would be fine. 24’s wouldn’t be to bad either just not for me
Hello I own a Chevrolet express 6.0 LQ4 with 90,000 miles, I live in France in a region where the climate is temperate, I do 6000 miles per year, I drive mainly in the summer, and I tow a 6000 lbs trailer, should I stick to the oil recommended by the manufacturer 5W30 or can I use a 5W40 for example???
@@Langloiswad well I stick to the theory that the manufacturer designed these engines for most/all conditions with a certain oil type in mind. I stick to the recommended oil mostly, just buying higher quality versions of that oil. They torcher tested these original engines from the beginning with 5W-30. But 10W-30 will not hurt it. Just always watch your oil pressure
@@Stan1le the oil pressure is good, and according to you it is serious to go from a 5w30 to a 5w40 ?, knowing that I drive the vehicle mainly in the summer when the temperature rises to 100°F without forgetting that I tow constantly a 6000lbs caravan
@@Langloiswad like I mentioned I wouldn’t do it unless there is a specific performance reason. I don’t see it making a difference if there are no issues to being with. Why risk it for no reason?
if you pour Coke in a glass and Pepsi in a glass, they look the same. You cannot tell what materials are used to manufacture parts by just looking at them.

Welcome to Houston buddy glad to have you. Hope to catch you at a local show some day I'd really love to see the camaro.
Thanks! I’m still trying to figure out when and where all the good car shows are at.
Nice build 👍
Awesome video Stan gotta ask where did you get that front lip from ?
OEM 04 to 06 Tahoe and Yukon but you need the upper valance
bro i gotta lq4 with ported 862s and our cams are exactly the same expect for i have a lil less lsa that’s an awesome build

Nice! Do you have a line running from trottle body straight to catch can?
Yes, but the catch can vents out to the throttle body to complete the circuit. So the clean air is going into the TB
Nice stan. Welcome to Htown, TX. What was the compression ratio you hit?
Much appreciated. I give specifics here in this video
Hey bro. Awsome build!! What size are your long tube headers? I had an 1 7/8 but had to bang it a little to get the driver side to fit because of the steering shaft.
These are 1 7/8’s but no banging required. Just bought these Speed engineering headers and the fitment was spot on
Can you post part numbers on your intake
And fuel rails
Any issues with the intake clearing the stock water pump ?

It's a tahoe lip, I have the same one on my NBS.
