- This video is an example of How To MAKE a very good quality VDSL lead for super fast broadband like BT Infinity and other FTTC service providers when you have the VDSL faceplate (or ADSL faceplate) fitted to your NTE5 Master socket. This cable is NOT for use with CABLE broadband like Virgin Media.
The cable use either cat5e or cat6 data cable.
Please go to www.mrtelephone... to find this cable or the parts to make this cable.
Thanks Vince
I bought a couple of your cables from your eBay shop.
Just goes to show even the manufacturer of my business grade router (i.e. not cheap) supplied a cheap flat phone cable. That is now in the bin.
Very pleased with the improvement to my line quality. Didn't have any issues with sync speed before but did have interference issues on upstream including many ES and some SES counts.
Until the manufacturers supply twisted pair phone cables, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the comment :-)
Its so nice seeing a face to the voice I listen to daily! :D Just found this video
I have been told that when data passes from CW1308 BT phone cable to CAT5E cable, because of the change in impedance some of the signal is reflected backwards reducing the signal received by the Modem/Hub. Is this true & would it be better to use BT CW1308 cable ?
Are you still making/selling cables?
would this lead work if i run it from master socket from hall to bedroom socket with router in bedroom socket
I have the 2017 Mk4 master socket, and need to make or buy a 3m cable due to the position needed for the modem router. Am I correct in assuming this is the correct type I need for the master socket please.
Could you also confirm your eBay shop for me please.
Many thanks.
Does anyone know if removing the 470Kohm resistor increases VDSL FTTC speeds? Is it essential to have or is it only used for testing the line when all other equipment is disconnected?
Does the rj11 twisted cable work just aswell?
Hi Vince. Your tutorials are brilliant. Is there a video on how to wire an RJ45 to an RJ12 using Cat 6 cable. It's to go from VDSL faceplate (older style with the sockets side by side) on a 5 metre length of cat6 straight to my modem?
Hi Richard, That is this video.
Q: i am not sure if is a mistake or not, but if you you say that on RJ45 pins 1,2-7,8 will not be used right so you use 3,4,5,6 also on RJ12 you say pins 1 & 6 will not be used so you use 2,3,4,5 then the cable tester will should red this connections, on my tester is not showing 3/3-4/4/5/5/6/6 is shows 3/2-4/3-5/4-6/5 is not the right testing ? how on your tester is show different since you put on different pins, on RJ12 connector your 6th pin is empty but you device is reading as used ?? unless you put the RJ12 connector in RJ45 port ?
Seven Hi, yes I put the RJ12 in the RJ45 port for testing, so use both RJ45 ports on your tester, I haven't watched the video back but I thought I mentioned sometimes when you put a RJ12 in a RJ45 port it can go in awkward/wrong (but maybe I am mixing it up with another video). I should have made it clear I was using both RJ45 ports. Looking at what your tester has read looks right considering the ports you used. Thanks Vince
@@Mymatevince have you closed your eBay shop?
Hi Vince. Thanks for all these videos! Very helpful. I recently purchased one of your RJ45 to RJ12 FTTC Cat 6 cables which works great. I decided to hardwire the master socket end to the A/B IDC terminals on the back of the VDSL faceplate. I now need to put in a longer cable from socket to router and am going to attempt to make my own.
As only the blue pair are connecting to the A/B terminals in the socket is it sufficient to only connect the blue pair at the RJ12 end to go into my home hub? or would connecting the blue pair and the orange pair (as shown in the above video) give a more secure fit in the RJ12 plug. I would welcome your advice. Ross.
+captainbongo99 Hi Ross, yes it only use the blue pair so this will be fine. If you wish to connect up the orange as well it will not make a difference to the signal/speed etc. but I think it is a bit more secure because if the sheath of the cable slips out of the RJ12 plug then you have a couple of other wires to help take the strain if the cable gets pulled by accident. Thanks Vince
I have a RJ11 to RJ11 CAT6 cable , will gettings one with a RJ45 at one end give me any better results?
+mattfox14 Hi, It is a nicer fit but it would be unlikely to give you better results.
I've just bought one of those cables from you. I know you haven't claimed anywhere that it'll boost performance but other than a snug fit, will it do anything else?
Hi, it can do, some people see speed increases but others notice no difference. If you have a lot of interference near the router then this cable will hopefully make more difference over the flat cheap leads but if you already have a good cat5e ADSL or good twisted pair version then you will be unlikely to see any difference.
just had infinity fitted and they put on a new faceplate, bought a cable from you but modem refuses to go blue light?? any thoughts
Hi, send me a message via eBay if you are still having problems.
Thanks Vince
what about century link pls show me how i need help.
SLIM
1000000 qwer
Flat ethernet cable (even Cat6A SSTP) fits very snugly into a RJ12
Who's operating the camera -- Michael J Fox?
Thanks Vince - now much clearer which socket I have so I have ordered two of these instead of the the one with two RJ11 ends
