Pet Semetary is also my favourite King book. I read it when I was 17 for the first time, none of his others have beat it for me. I love this list added a few to my want to read list and bumped Below up. Think I'll buy a copy this October to read

I've always considered Pet Sematary to be among King's scariest reads. The themes, the powerful ending all are King at his best imo. A book I read many years ago bc King recommended it, and look forward to rereading soon is Summer of NIght by Dan Simmons. Also, when I was a teenager, Hellraiser was big and Clive Barker was very popular. I don't see him being read as much these days. Barker's The Great and Secret Show was always a favorite of mine.
I love, love, love Mongrels. Such a great book! The Southern Book Club's Guide To Slaying Vampires is tremendous fun, and I want it to be made into a movie or something. Below is a book I want to get. I am still waiting on Pet Sematary from my library. 🤷♂My favorite horror book of all time?....that I will have to think about. 🎃
Salem's Lot is still my favorite Stephen King book but I do agree with you. The town was so small and so wrapped around its own issues, as well as, the evil story surrounding the Marsten house that Barlow found an easy target. Narrow my list down? Really? I can say my most favorite books are The Ruins, Burnt Offerings, The Auctioneer, Rosemary's Baby, Clive Barker's Books of Blood, The Exorcist, The Fungus, Lovecraft's Color out of Space, Summer of Night and The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires. An excellent top ten list! Jason I find it interesting that I have only read Pet Sematary from all your choices. You have given me so many new titles to explore, which is awesome! I am reading The Black Farm at the moment. It so brutal and graphic, and yet so imaginative and compelling at the same time. I look forward to compiling a top ten horror of 2023 in December. At the moment, Dan Simmon's The Terror is probably number one.🎃

I don’t think so. We got it, if memory serves, at a garage sale and my son likes to use it as a candy jar. So maybe.
