the video has lots of information, but as you have mentioned that we have to apply 1 year prior to our Ph.D., I have started searching but recruiters either ask for near to completion or Ph.D. completion, so my concern is that how we can apply before one year when they have these points in their criteria for application
Similar sort of thing i have experienced as well...i expect that my PhD viva will be held within next 2 months...i started to apply some 4 months back and most of the PIs that replied to me mentioned that we r looking for someone who have either completed PhD recently or have atleast a viva date so that we don't have to wait for too long....one of my lab mate waited for 6 months for his viva that eventually led to the termination of his post doc offer...even though he has got a postdoc position but it will be kind of very early (1 year that he's mentioned) to apply .....in my opinion once you are done with writing the thesis and when u know that your PhD is about 3 month away should be ideal window to start applying especially where u want to see yourself as a postdoc fellow .
