Yes, very confusing. Matthew says that Jacob begets Joseph, the husband of Mary, but that's clearly different Jacob, not father of Joseph sold to slavery in Egypt. Also the pictures are often very inappropriate, I'd say insulting even. Mary with beard? Two infants on the picture when talking about the coming back from Egypt? Probably the work of AI. @@justcause0909You do realize that there were two men in the Bible named Jacob. Jacob, the father of the Patriarch Joseph, was born about 2000 or more years before Jacob, the father of Joseph, the stepfather of Jesus. I don't think the Patriarch Jacob, who it's said in Genesis, to have died in Egypt BEFORE MOSES LED THE PEOPLE OUT OF EGYPT, would still be alive to father Joseph, the stepfather of Jesus.

We actually are not given much info on the life of Joseph the husband of Mary. The Biblical writers usually included just the bare minimum on ancient lives in the biblical narrative, unlike modern writers of biographies . We are not told their eye color. Or hair color or how tall they were or their actual birthdays what street they lived on ECT…. The purpose was just to show that God himself was the actually father of Christ. But because Jesus is both human and divine he was given a provider and protector for his earthly life as Mary was too. This protected Mary from the stoning laws because she would have been accused of either adultery or fornication by giving birth with out being fully married even though she was betrothed to Joseph, according t 24:50 o Jewish law Joseph would have been the one to have to stone her, both mother and child would have died at the same time. Here is a man who protected and provided for both her and a child that wasn’t his and in any woman’s mind that makes him a saint!!!

The prophesy was fulfilled again when God sent an angel to tell him the reason and purpose of his child's life. it never fails to humble me that God spoke to his chosen prophets to tell his people what would happen in the future and then the fulfilment of those prophesies.

The importance of synchronizing the Bible and Egyptian history correctly cannot be overemphasized. It is a primary tenet of biblical apologetics, as is shown by unbelievers who use secular archaeology dates to claim that the Bible is wrong, thereby undermining biblical veracity. If our Bible is not authoritative, we have nothing on which to base our faith.

    • @justcause0909

There is a specific crossover point between the timelines when Pharaoh Necho II on his first military campaign slays King Josiah in 609 B.C. Jehoahaz son of Josiah then became king. In the same year, Necho took Jehoahaz’ brother Eliakim and made him king instead, and renamed him Jehoiakim. (for the biblical account of all this, see 2 Kings 23:29-35; also 2 Kings 24) “Tel Megiddo.” In a second very close crossover, Pharaoh Necho met Nebuchadnezzar at Carchemish in the fourth year of Jehoiakim in the year 605 B.C. Therefore there are two Egyptian/biblical synchronizations close together in 609 and 605 B.C.
So, where is your biblical proof to the contrary? The irrefutable word tells me that in 609 B.C. when Necho II kills Josiah. (see: Jeremiah 46:2)
This makes a divergence of over if not as little of 550yrs!

Mary was 13 when she had to leave the temple, as her women's time had come. Joseph was actually a distant relative and a man who had dedicated his life to God. He was already old then but was told it was his responsibility and honor to say he and Mary were man and wife because otherwise Mary would have basically been dead meat. He had his test when Mary became with child, and it took an angel to tell him that she was without sin and that her child would be the long-awaited Messiah. Joseph was an honorable man, but he was never a true husband to Mary in a physical manner. He was her provider, and her protector.

It makes little sense for Joseph to go to Bethlehem to be counted for a census. If a census was being taken it would be taken throughout the region.
However, it might be understandable to take his pregnant wife to another town to give birth amongst relatives if the number of months they'd been married didn't quite line up with the delivery date; especially if he didn't plan on returning for a few years after the child was born, which he didn't trekking off to Egypt for several seasons (and other places if some sources are to be believed). He was presumably a journeyman carpenter able to make a living nearly anywhere he'd venture.

There is a written account of Joseph and Mary when Jesus was 26 years old when an investigator was sent to investigate Jesus' background. In the same written document, the investigator interviews Mary, Martha, and Lazarath of Bethany.
Also, Joseph of Egypt is not the same as Saint Joseph. Joseph of Egypt lived almost 73 generations before Jesus. There is a 430-year period of time between Joseph of Egypt and Moses. Which is the time between the Book of Genesis and the Exodus.

This is incorrect. See the following passages: Matt. 12:46; 13:55; Mark 6:3; John 2:12; 7:3, 5, 10; Acts 1:14; 1 Cor. 9:5; Gal. 1:19). All of these specifically mention the brothers of Jesus in the context of Mary. Read Matt. 1:18-25 where it specifically says Mary and Joseph did not have sexual relations until after the birth of Jesus. The Catholic Church has misinformed you. The danger of this is that Mary and Joseph virtually get elevated to godhood, with misinformed people actually praying to the creation instead of to the God who created them.

    • @josephology3290
      @josephology3290 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@donaldwilliamfry this is not incorrect my friend, it is the truth. See 2 Samuel 6:23, Matthew 13:33, Matthew 14:22, if you truly think “until” must always mean the action changes later. Then re-read Matthew 1:25. Jesus will always be at the right hand of God also not just “until” and then no longer at the right hand even after the enemies are made a footstool.
Your proof text verses don’t say what you need them to say to fit your modern man-made doctrine. Scripture clearly says Jesus was “THE” son of Mary, never just “a” of Mary. Same with “THE” son of Joseph, not “a” son of Joseph.
Bro, you need to understand what “brothers” can apply to, even cousins and uncles like for example with Lot and Abraham in Genesis - were they truly uterine “brothers”? Nope. Uncle and nephew. Yet they called “brothers”. Why? They used “brothers” more liberally than we do today as English speakers. Ancient Hebrew didn’t have “cousin” just “brother” or a circumlocution. Plus, even you should admit that at most they would not be true “brothers” but only “half” or “step” brothers.
The Reformers all taught that Jesus was the only child of Mary and His legal father Joseph. Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, Wesley, etc.
So, until you cite me just one e verse that says “Joseph begot James” or “Mary begot James, Simon, Jude, Salome, Mary, Joseph” etc., then I’ll continue to stand with Scripture and Christian history on this one as evidence by the Reformers.
