I know my comment is late but I see all these sad stories in the comments and I’m hoping all of you are doing well. To those who shared their stories and still listen to this song, I hope you found peace and happiness and I’m proud of y’all for staying strong. Wanted to encourage anyone who may read this.
...a couple of years past suddenly losing my wife in my arms, the Five Finger Death Punch version was what I would scream out while driving...but the rage of losing my life love has grown to an acceptance that we are travelers here in this life and our lives are temporary. Your cover matches where my path is right now, where I remember the beauty of her life and carry it with me, while still feeling the reverberation of pain and loss. Thank you for your gift of your voice to the world.
I think they're both great in their own right. Offspring's projects an intense, wailing anguish, while Noctura's is more soft and bleak and soulful. Both reflect different moods of grief.
I just lost the mother of my children who was my best friend for 13 years... I use to listen to this song in memory of my parents who passed in 95'.. Now I cry every time for my partner who was taken far before her time. I love and miss you Angela.. How can I ever do this without you!?! You are a jerk for leaving me all alone! I love you!!! I will never be able to do this without you.. We were suppose to be together forever.. 💔💔💔💔💔😢😢😭
This is the song I will play when I bury my mother who passed away this year......I thank the Gods for your voice, your talent, and everything that you are to bring this version of a song that explains how I feel.....I was a caretaker for my mother for 5 years until she was done with this world. Bless your hearts!!!
I’m sorry for your loss, and I second your motion. This is the version of this song that I like most. I lost my grandmother recently, and this song is how I grieve. I’m having a hard time with it, and it’s not getting any easier. Her birthday is coming up. I’ll leave flowers on her grave to show that I still care. And I’ll also sit there for hours with this song on repeat bawling my eyes out.
I have been looking for a cover like this for so long. None of the other ones felt right but I felt it in my bones that this is the perfect version of this song. Thank you so much for making this.
Maybe in another life I could find you there Pulled away before your time I can't deal it's so unfair And it feels And it feels like Heaven's so far away And it feels Yeah it feels like The world has grown cold Now that you've gone away Leaving flowers on your grave Show that I still care But black roses and Hail Mary's Can't bring back what's taken from me I reach to the sky And call out your name And if I could trade I would And it feels And it feels like Heaven's so far away And it stings Yeah it stings now The world is so cold Now that you've gone away
This year has been such a hard year. March 2nd my grandpa, who was like my dad, was taken away and then one of my best friends died today. They were two of the most amazing guys and such beautiful souls. I don’t know how I’m going to keep going without them to talk to, but I’ve vowed to make sure they live on and to make them proud. This song definitely helps me. I’m not sure why other than it expresses exactly how I feel
original song consists of something more than just grief and sorrow... it has also anger and truth based on personal experience when this is just beautiful ballad
David Brown I always have to listen to the Offspring original after listening to this, the contrast is beautiful. Then I re-listen to this one. Both so, so, so powerful.
back when I was in middle School I lost my best friend to suicide. to this day it haunts me... I wish I could have saved him.... but I couldn't. he was one of the many victims of bullying. just like the late Hana Kimura who took her own life not too long ago at the young age of 22 may both of them rest in peace. this song draws to mind those losses
You may have a different view from mine but as I see it the aware living being in the body doesn’t cease to be when it leaves the body that is no longer habitable, thus as the conscious spirit souls nature is eternal, though we may find the loss of their presence difficult, we have eternity to meet them again in a different place as when we are close to the ones we have lost we are still connected and the souls will be drawn to each other as a magnetic field, a subtle connection that binds us in love I know how the loss can be so difficult as I have lost my brother when he was only 17, And I can’t even put it into words That was over 40yrs ago I have spent most of my life seeking the truth and have studied religions, philosophy, and various other paths, trying not to be deluded and accepting only truth. I wish you well and hope you are ok
William Jenkins it's more of perspective of how to sing it to make it feel like a whole new emotion that reaches into the crevice of our minds and projects different things
the song is a stand alone masterpiece, no matter who sings it, everyone should do their own version of it. **edit** I would love to hear you sing this with your own style.
I love the original. I love this version as well. I don't compare and think which I love better, as to me that is a moot point, I like them both. I like how they change the song's instrumentation a lot rather than just making it like a karaoke version as some bands do.
@DarkAngelDaemir I'm feeling the same thing you are about the familiarity of the song. I just can't place the female singer either. I have it somewhere in my collection and it was simply named "Heaven".I think it was a DJ mix, but definitely a good mix, but this Noctura beats them all. So much like Amy Lee. They're AWEsome!
@Ilovemymusic100 Have you heard some of their other stuff? Like Don't Save Me??? You have to check the band name to see if Evanescence made a new song or if it is just Noctura. These guys are amazing.
I haven't checked to see if you have already covered it, but I would love to hear you cover Mad World, from the Donnie Darko Soundtrack(Gary Jules).. That voice is perfect!
I remember hearing a song a LOT like this, but I don't think it was another cover, though some of the lyrics were the same. "world has grown cold" in particular is causing Deja vu. It's really bugging me that I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure it was a licensed female singer. Any Ideas?
My daughter would be 25 today. I lost her right after thanksgiving. This song hits so differently now. 😢❤
I know my comment is late but I see all these sad stories in the comments and I’m hoping all of you are doing well. To those who shared their stories and still listen to this song, I hope you found peace and happiness and I’m proud of y’all for staying strong. Wanted to encourage anyone who may read this.
You have and I hope you come back to this soon because you have a new fan of your music!

Here I am, one year later, listening. This song is absolutely beautiful and I’m in tears.
I think they're both great in their own right. Offspring's projects an intense, wailing anguish, while Noctura's is more soft and bleak and soulful. Both reflect different moods of grief.
Dude as an offspring fan i have to say this is fucking amazing.

Hang in there Bryan=(
I'm trying but everyday is so hard without her by my side.
sorry for you loss! may you keep finding strength.
I'm really sorry man. Damn...
I feel bad for you but she isn't a jerk that seems awfully aggressive, and yes I understand what loss is

def reminds me of Amy Lee, especially in Die Another Day and I'm a hardcore evanescence fan. such a beautiful voice
I swear I can't listen to this without crying thank you Noctura
Best Song ever heard in my life...Undoubtedly the best cover version of the original song by offsprings as well.
Maybe in another life
I could find you there
Pulled away before your time
I can't deal it's so unfair
And it feels
And it feels like
Heaven's so far away
And it feels
Yeah it feels like
The world has grown cold
Now that you've gone away
Leaving flowers on your grave
Show that I still care
But black roses and Hail Mary's
Can't bring back what's taken from me
I reach to the sky
And call out your name
And if I could trade
I would
And it feels
And it feels like
Heaven's so far away
And it stings
Yeah it stings now
The world is so cold
Now that you've gone away
I can't deal it's so unfair

Marissa Gray 💗
Me too girl because I miss my grandpa and grandma too because they dies make me cry and my family 👪 too I'll miss them so much 😢 😔 💔 😞 😪 😭
Absolutely haunting.......amazing how the music seems to change the lyrics' emotion.
Dear lord this is beautiful. Jesus
Crying, sobbing, in awe of her voice! 👌🖤💚💫😱
I'm not really an Offspring fan but the way this song is performed is....WOW!!! LOVE IT!
Beautiful
Beautiful cover
Yo, who cut all these onions? I'm not crying, your crying.
original song consists of something more than just grief and sorrow... it has also anger and truth based on personal experience when this is just beautiful ballad
I agree. Anger is a big part of grief.
I get chills up my spine, literally, from this version. So happy I found it.
Or I should say, so happy it found me.
Pete McBennett I got chills too. Wow, I always loved the Offspring version so I was well happy to find this.
David Brown I always have to listen to the Offspring original after listening to this, the contrast is beautiful. Then I re-listen to this one. Both so, so, so powerful.
💯 absolutely marvellous version
This sounds like Amy Lee so much. It's beautiful!!!
I can hear it now that you mention it
Amazing!
I have always loved this song.. but this version is absolutely beautiful.
back when I was in middle School I lost my best friend to suicide. to this day it haunts me... I know how the loss can be so difficult as I have lost my brother when he was only 17,
And I can’t even put it into words
That was over 40yrs ago
I have spent most of my life seeking the truth and have studied religions, philosophy, and various other paths, trying not to be deluded and accepting only truth.
I wish you well and hope you are ok
Eu também já perdi várias pessoas que eu amava, mas não julgo como perda!!!! Talvez eles estejam melhor que eu!!!💚🍇💖🇧🇷❤️😘🇧🇷
I’m so sorry for your loses.
It's amazing how you can change the whole meaning of a song by playing it differently. Lovin it.
Dexter Holland é um gênio que letra que melodia...vida longa ao Offspring...e parabéns pelo cover.
🇵🇹
I'm a hugh Offspring fan and I have to say that it's beautiful :'')
Stunning vocals, so emotive, so amazing, why has this band not been taken up by a big record label
Hypnotic and beautiful. Thank you.
Thanks The Offspring...Thanks Noctura...🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Powerful song. Nice cover. You got a few tears. Thank you
Pardon my french but holy shit this is beautiful!!!!!!!!!
I'm speechless. LOVE it! Just discovered Noctura and am smitten.
hauntingly beautiful-
Awesome cover beautiful voice
@Aaron Sutton
The song has the same exact meaning. Singing it differently didn't change that at all. Jesus...
William Jenkins it's more of perspective of how to sing it to make it feel like a whole new emotion that reaches into the crevice of our minds and projects different things
beautiful brought tears
This song gives me the chills.
Beautiful!
I totally just stumbled on this band by accident! I love it! Gorgeous song, and beautiful voice :)
Beautiful it's a whole new dimension
This song has a whole new meaning to me after Chadwick Boseman's death 😢
You should cover it
the song is a stand alone masterpiece, no matter who sings it, everyone should do their own version of it.
**edit** I would love to hear you sing this with your own style.
A duet of this would be great
I love the original. I love this version as well. I don't compare and think which I love better, as to me that is a moot point, I like them both. I like how they change the song's instrumentation a lot rather than just making it like a karaoke version as some bands do.
i have no words to describe this master piece... this is just an amazing cover :')
Better than 5fdp version. this is more powerful and better in my opinion
Its on par, "better" is just a matter of perspective, they're both beautiful songs and they both touch the soul and break my heart in two....
it'll be my funeral song
Hermosa version!!
I know I'm gonna get so much flack for this but this cover is so much better than the original version
Best cover ever...
wow I wasn't expecting that at all
A great cover. Love it.
I cant help but feel like 5fdp ripped off this cover instead of doing their own version. This is so much better.
omg this is so beautiful
Sound of a mad silent world
Amazing
Best version made far Better than any other well done
I love this song,
Same
thank you...😎
Impresionante!

@izametalboy I don't know if anyone has answered you or not, but it's Gone Away by the Offspring.
I haven't checked to see if you have already covered it, but I would love to hear you cover Mad World, from the Donnie Darko Soundtrack(Gary Jules).. That voice is perfect!
SickOfReality Actually, the Gary Jules version was a cover of that song which was originally done by Tears for Fears.
Oh damn, I totally spaced, you are correct, I completely forgot T4F made it.
She did a good job of a cover for it!
th-cam.com/video/pXtj4TkTvS4/w-d-xo.html
soulful
@thorssonrb That is crazy! If you listen to the EP Origin, they sound almost exactly alike! It's insane!
It's pretty :) Great job Noctura~
This makes rock soft. But hey pillows are nice :P
i cant deal, its so unfair.
good cover of offspring
they remind me of Evanescence(:
Better than the original!!!
wow
tengo todas la versiones originales de Noctura!!! me encantan!! aunque la voz es algo parecida a la de Amy Lee pero ella es mejor :D
WOW
wonderfull voice! Wow Voice for Evanescence cover's o Dark/Emo/Goth music ;)
Sheryl Crow's voice
Better than the original Punk' songs sounds better in gothic It reminds me Better off dead of bad religion in the version of anathema Great cocer!!!!
I remember hearing a song a LOT like this, but I don't think it was another cover, though some of the lyrics were the same. "world has grown cold" in particular is causing Deja vu. It's really bugging me that I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure it was a licensed female singer. Any Ideas?

Ugh, Im so tired of these mainstream noctura songs. I mean come on, the justin bieber/lady gaga age needs to stop.
