  • How many planners does a person need? Should one planner be enough to cover all the hats you are wearing? Or is there ever a time or reason to use more than one planner in a functional system? I share my experience on this subject in today's video and give you some reasons why you may want to have a single planner or why someone would consider using multiple planners. How many planners do you use?

Great topic! I’ve often wondered if my system is excessive, but hearing you talk it through validated my choices. 😜
I have an A6 stalogy for daily to-dos and appointments. My meat and potatoes among my planners. Got the idea for a day per page from one of your earlier videos. It is working out great for me, and my chosen size of A6 is perfect for my needs. Thanks!
A6 midori for work notes that I reference occasionally. Deadlines for work are noted in my other A6.
TN with health and fitness related tracking. Only two books inside.
    A5 commonplace book.
    Passport TN spending tracker.
    B6 journal.
I have lots of books because I couldn’t fit it all into rings and I like compartmentalizing each area of my life. They also store much better than loose pages.
I saw your grey mildliner and have to tell you that I also started using that brush pen as a highlighter and it works great for me too! Thanks for all the inspiration. ❤️

I hadn't really thought about it much, but I suppose a multi-planners planner girl. I have one for personal, homeschool, budgeting, prayer/bible study, although I wouldn't call the last tow planner exactly. I think its nice to have everything in one place, but I don't really need to carry everything with me everyday. Even through it might keep me but bit more on my toes especially in the area of budgeting. Some information just needs to stay at home and I like for some things to just plain be in one book to its self this makes for easy reference month to month and year to year. I'm in the mist of testing out daily pages instead of a 2 page weekly spreads. Its going ok, still getting my feet wet with layouts and such, but it is definitely fun and interesting to try something new and I'm loving the narrow size to carry compared to coil bound planners. Thanks for sharing! I'm loving the apple washi!!

I have five books in my Planner Perfect TN - monthly planner, "reference" book (basically routines and house cleaning stuff), my journal, a food planner/running shopping list, and a financial book. I removed the back notepad and used a jumbo oliclip to get the fifth in there. It helps me because I know exactly which book I need to flip to quickly to find what I'm looking for, and it has the benefit of basically being a 5-n-1.

Annie, really enjoyed the conversation you started about the number of planners we you and why.
I personally have multiple planners currently. I have one for our house in general; A4 spirol. My husband works from home and I work full time outside the home. We are empty-nesters - but we still have 10 grown children to keep track of where they are traveling, when they are visiting, when they are getting married, or when they are having their next babe. oh, and we do a lot of home projects together and plan those around my not so regular work schedule.
I have one (A5) that is for me alone. It is in my desk area and I do the rest of the "home" planning and my personal planning in it.
Third, I have a work planner - travelers notebook. In it I journal about my job to help relieve some stress; write notes from meetings, items to discuss with my director, goals for the month, certification and licensure information and expirations, continuing education completed, and topics I want to research later.
Fourth, I have a small calendar for my purse; Hobinichi weeks. It is for the moments I am away from home, but not at work. I keep my general schedule in it along with notes for errands. Also it is a great place to write down any thoughts or inspirations.
And then there are my binders.............

Enjoy your videos. I have to have everything in one. I’m retired now but even when I was going to work everyday, everything was all in one. I didn’t have a job that had confidential info that I needed to keep separate.

I teach first grade and definitely need a separate planner for lesson plans. I do put school to dos that come to mind in my TN.

I'm still trying to figure out a good system and find your videos very helpful. I'm trying out just one planner until October 31 to try to hone my system, but I do have a separate budget binder.

I bullet journal and as I don’t have as intense of area such as home school I am honestly think about splitting into two bullet journals to have my daily stuff and then the long term collections. I saw someone else do this and it makes a lot of sense. And I’ve considered buying a small dated journal or just a small liner notebook to carry in my purse as a catch all as sometimes it is easier when looking at planning future things such as doctor appointments and sometimes easier to add things into every spot on a bullet journal later rather than right when I get the information.
I also have found out that there are days when I just need to look at just that day otherwise it can be overwhelming so while I understand that people separate out their aspects of their life into different planner I currently can’t. I need to have a planner that has everything together specifically for those days when looking at the week or the month is too overwhelming. So while I might want multiple planner I would still need a master planner for at least the normal planning and day to day stuff.

I have my main planner as a Bujo, a pocket TN for on the go notes and lists, a health A6 folio, and Christmas TN in standard size.

The season of life I'm in right now...I do well to keep up with one planner. 😆 Plus, I'm very forgetful. It HAS to be in one place or something will end up missed.

I have really been enjoying your videos. I really thought I was all set with a Hobonichi Weeks and and A6 but I have recently been trying the standard size and I love it. Why did I hold off for so and you for the inspiration!

Right now I have a Wide Foxy Fix that I call "the Holy Grail" because that is the one that holds everything in different sections. I also am now using my B6 Stalogy that is my EDC and also the one that I journal in, it holds most of the same information that the Holy Grail has but not in as much detail. I had been using a standard size CS Black Beauty for most of this year but in August I went back to the B6 size because I just really enjoy using the Stalogy and doing the decorating and tipins and whatnot. for next year I am going to switch from the Wide to my CS Pemberly Honey that I used for quite awhile at the beginning of the year, I just really missed using that particular cover and size. I've ordered a few inserts from PenguinPaperCo to get me set up for the start of the new year. at the moment I keep track of all of my husbands trucking load information in a PPC insert in the A5 Honey so I'm still using it each day but not as much as I would like. this year has been a learning year of what I really like to use and how I like to use it. for me it comes down to planning and journaling in the B6 Stalogy in my Moterm cover EDC, and then having one TN with various inserts that I keep at home and that one is always called the Holy Grail, regardless of what cover or inserts I'm using. I enjoy using a couple of different planners for different purposes. I find that way I keep the boredom at bay, otherwise it seems to get stale and I end up switching from one to another over and over again. It works for me. anyway, that's how I work my system. have a fantastic day and bless you for homeschooling that many young'uns and still keeping your sanity!

I use an A5 TN for work. I’m a teacher, so I have an insert for year plans, one for monthly lesson planning, and then one for daily lesson planning. For personal I’m currently in a B6slim TN but I’m curious about personal rings!

Which PP tn do you have there? I am currently using 5 TNs in varying sizes due to a medical issue, bit the hope is to get back to 3 when this is over. My passport is my EDC and my standard is my self-care then I have an A6 Folio that I journal in. Those are the 3 I plan to keep. Right now I also have an A6 TN that I keep my vitals and how I feel throughout the day in and an A5 that I record all my physical therapy and doctor communications in. I hope I won't need the last 2 by the end of the year. And I am looking at the PP method for my standard. I've ordered one blank notebook and I downloaded her e-book to give it a try.

Yikes, new changes make it hard to decide how you want to incorporate those plans and notes into your system. Sometimes you have to try something and then try another thing until you find a good system 😆

I use two - an A5 rings that holds my trackers, home notes etc, an A5 planner that stays at home, and a small pocket diary that goes with me and gets matched to the A5 at the end of the day. Shoot - that's 3, not 2 ... and there's another for general notes... they breed... Ok, I use 4...

I'm a bit new to planning... so, I'm still figuring it out. I currently have an A5 ring planner for almost everything, a standard size for my full time job as a Legal assistant, and an A6 intended for my EDC, but I keep forgetting it at home since my grocery lists are on my phone and I don't use the planner much. I am now considering another A5 to keep all of my work related matters (I am an English teacher, freelance translator and a Language Examiner for those who opt fir a translator's license) where I might also include Financial matters to free some space on my current A5. Any suggestions on what to do to use my EDC more? Do you think I should keep my finance section with my catch all or should I move it into the side jobs planner?
