Tiger Woods crash may be the best free advertising for this car. The local sheriff in California gave credit to the GV80's structural integrity for saving his life.
The depreciation is becoming a non-issue slowly with the Genesis/Kia/Hyundai products. Here in Northwest Arkansas there has been a 10k markup for the Palisades/Telluride...which would have been unheard of just a few years ago.
Perfect customer for GV80: Want an SUV that is luxurious, refined, has new tech and is good looking And.....is now a conversation piece, not just for new Genesis badge, but for Tiger Woods accident If you want something unique, a cool way to go
What kind of an idiot would want to talk about their car and refer to the accident as a 'conversation piece'. That was a human being in that accident, one who has kids. I probably believe it was his own fault. Still: You really can't fix stupid.
Definitely will eat into X5, MDX and RX sales. I’d pick this over the rest, biggest bang for the buck, best warranty, loaded, stands out and RWD fun! 🔥
It has a nice look, and I like the fender turn signals. Does seams to be "classy" and premium. Glad to hear that you can get AWD in a GV80, which I definitely would prefer.
People are trolling.. we do t know what happened, but that passenger compartment held up well considering all the impacts and who knows how fast he was going when he took that tree out.
Oh and I would choose the MDX over this due to it's excellent balance of performance and luxury and a competitive price. You still just can't beat SH-AWD.
This knock off korean Escalade saved tiger woods life lol. Must buy the V6 thou. Awesome looking suv. The Korean made vehicle reselling value is what concerns me if you trade often 🤔
Actually it’s GREAT around bends at invigorating speeds........assuming you’re not SPEEDING, driving like a bat out of hell, and possibly distracted as well.
Matt…you said, "let me know your thoughts," so here goes: I cannot be positive about this vehicle because of the front grille; it is too large and over-stylized; It gives me the following impressions: 1. The bombastic grille makes me wonder if the vehicle is designed for nefarious or illicit or showoff/ostentatious purposes. 2. This vehicle says to me, “I am clever and paid less than I would have paid for one of the competitors.” True enough, especially comparing the costs of owning a German import which can be particularly expensive after they come off warranty. Matt feels the Lexus vehicles are bit dated. 3. Appeals to a person who want to purchase a luxury brand, i.e. genesis instead of Hyundai or Kia etc; the concept makes some sense in that when you take the car in for service, it can be a different and nicer experience. However, the name “Genesis” (definition , the origin or mode of formation of something, creating, beginning), does not really appeal to me. This vehicle will probably do well because people will be drawn by the luxury brand name, the cost and warranty advantage of the vehicle, and the quality of the interior; however this car needs a new front fascia, and a new name. This car is also not for the wealthy who might want “stealth wealth,” with its overly flashy and loud appearance; a more conservatively styled Acura which Matt discusses towards the end of the video would be my preference over this vehicle. I realize my opinions are subjective, though the size and design of Genesis Grille on this vehicle are large and loud. To me, the Genesis is screaming “I WANT TO BE, I WANT TO BE, I WANT TO BE, A LUXURY SUV BRAND.” The video Matt done is great; nice snow in the background and wonderful hilly and scenic Western Pennsylvania area is really unique and enjoyable compared to other car video reviews.
If I was wealthy I'd love a winter home somewhere warm, but I also enjoy experiencing all 4 seasons. Winter really isn't that bad in Pittsburgh, it was just 60 yesterday so we get breaks from the cold fairly often.
In my G80 review there were a couple others that said they also had disappointing experiences with HDA. The footage doesn't lie, I don't know why they always struggle, but my guess is that they just don't handle highway corners (which are more common where I live) as well, and other reviewers live in places with straighter highways.
@@doggedlydetermined7022 the gv80 has more power and torque. This engineering is just as good as the Germans. This is meant for high speed and highway driving. Guess what, the vehicle saved tiger woods life. If he was in a different car, he could’ve died.

You guys should know the truth of GV80 in Korea. Before tiger woods car accident, there have been a lot of malfuction in GV80 and Genesis series. For examples, stop engine in driving (it was insane), shaking car body in low speed, and safety problems reported by Korean GV80 owners. But there were no skid mark on the road that might mean no control steering wheel system or no working brake system at the accident. That's my opinion in based on Korean complain. The blackbox records will tell the truth. I hope Tiger Woods will get OK. I don't recommend GV80.
Tiger woods crashed in this car and I bet we will find out that it was the cars fault and this could very well be damaging enough to destroy Hyundai...

I have found the Genesis driving assist system to be very good.
Keep in mind, the person behind the wheel still needs to DRIVE the vehicle.
Tiger just sent one into a tree and then rolled it down a hill. Passenger compartment held up like a champ.
