How fast are these little things. My dad had a minivan. Lived on a farm. Had all sorts in the back. Calves off to market, bags of corn feed and anything else that would go in.

if your close enough sure. the leading car is pushing through the air first so there must be a small amount of clean air behind it for another mini to make use of that clean air.
Of course, Mini racing isn't just aerodynamics. They're light so don't need as much power to accelerate and they corner so well. That means they race nearly flat out all the time, so it's hard to pull away and a bit of slip-streaming can give you that little bit of extra speed to carry you by in a passing manoeuvre. The aerodynamics aren't that much worse than other cars and the diminutive frontal area makes up for it so 100hp in a Mini will give you a top speed on par with 100hp in something more modern. The drag coefficient is actually very close to a F1 car - though a Mini doesn't make the down-force as pay off.
Many decades ago, I built two 1098cc engines, both with 12G1295 heads, one had the standard 630 cam, the other, 88G229, both were great road engines. plenty of low down torque.
Wow! Nick Swift has such a perfect line through that chicane, every time we saw him go through it. Great skill!
Love watching these little match box cars race. Thanks
Lovely cars. Just listen to those engines singing their little hearts out. Please upload the full race
I love the way they go through the chicane.

I was there last September ..best racing action in the world! from Canada
This was highly satisfying to watch 😅
This is racing as it once was.
Wow fantastic absolutely brilliant this is what you call Racing
Cars with low HP always make for the best races, these little things make the drivers shine trough Skill, Wits and a certain degree of luck.
Great clean racing.
Well done.
How can this coverage have any Thumbs Down?
They don't own a mini.
@@edwardglamuzina3421 LOL. You might be right.
They're probably watching this with their phones or laptops upside down, and pressed the wrong icon...
Nice to see a bunch of mk1's out on the track

Loving the absence of driver aids, technology, fuel/tyre management and team orders which produces some great out and out racing 👍

Kept waiting for Rowan Atkinson to burst into the lead
He was busy in his A35
Mini buckets rock
Haha Patrick Watts? The former Touring car driver?
Whoever wins, the credit goes to Mr Bean
Can you slipstream in a Mini?

Yes, off course. Doesn't matter what you race. A bicycle, a truck, F1 car, Mini, etc. etc. Even Goose do it with their V-formations. 😉
Lets all take a second to thank Junior Johnson, the creator of this technique and the rest of NASCAR's rule book.
Are these road legal?
Surely more exciting than F1...love mini s
26 thumbs down from Hillman Imp fanatics.
I wonder if Swift could take a few seconds off if his hood was down tighter

Very easy)
The most important number of all...........649
cam?
Yes. I had a 1275GT rally car with the 649 cam. Very high rpm to keep it at idle.

Can’t lift, the pressure is ON!

I think Mick Swift is better known to me than any current F1 car driver.
