i had this absolutely insane situation the other day where for some reason the killer didnt immediately leave the crime scene, so i arrive to some random dude (i didnt know he was the killer at the time) getting knocked out by the victims partner, then the partner gets knocked out not once but TWICE by the police. and then, to top it all off, the cop decided to take a dump in the victim's toilet 2 feet away from the body. i love this game
I’ve had this happen twice now! So I got to the door before the cops got there, and the murderer answered it! Wouldn’t give me their name or their fingerprints but gave me a guest pass for the apartment! Then they closed the door and I went to knock on the door of the neighbours because the cops had just arrived, and someone else came out of the apartment, I was so confused because I didn’t think it was the person that had come to the door(they looked similar) so I ran after them. I came back and the murderer was gone. I didn’t have any of their info and their character info was gone from my board, so I had to look for them again. I found them on the security cameras though. So bizarre!
i had a killer trip the security system in the hotel the other day. id been tracking him since his first victim but couldnt find him at his home or work when the scanner went off reporting another murder. i rush to the scene to find the security gate opening, revealing the man i had already been looking for to be on the other side. it took me a second to recognize him and he managed to make it halfway down the first set of stairs before i realized who this tall thin asian man was. i quickly ran after him and cuffed him before he could make it much further. in his pocket was the still smoking gun
What I love about this game is that there's so much freedom, so you can basically set limts on what you're allowed/not allowed to do and that changes the vibe of the case completely. I started off watching Insym so tried to copy his speed and agility in solving cases, but my PC is 10 years old and can't run the game without lag, which has led to some funny moments. The first time I tried to do the 'jump down from floor above to bypass the shutters' trick, I fell to my death, so then I added no fighting/no crazy maneuvers on top of no stealing and minimal trespassing. So this has led to tactics like waiting until a suspect is home, getting them to let me in, then looking for evidence at my own pace then handcuffing them when they look away or fall asleep. I'm also experimenting with stealth more to avoid death to lag, so it's very fun watching Insym play as his playstyle is much more action-packed. I also found out that, if you inspect a person and they refuse to tell you their name but answer when you ask 'do you know this person', you can show them their photo and they'll go 'that's me!' while giving away their name, LOL! Loving all the different ways things play out in this game.

2:14:11 I just did one of these cases for science! Papa Starch wanted to arrest a janitor living somewhere in the fathoms. That’s it. None of the “identifiable” evidences (name, fingerprint, handwriting), or anything else to at least narrow it down (hair, height, build, first initial, etc.). Fortunately, fathoms buildings are small (this one only had 5 residents) so I could work through it to figure out how the game “thinks” in these situations. The first two residents I snooped on were both janitors. Filled out both of their profiles above 90% and it just wouldn’t recognize either one as the perp, even though they each matched the profile perfectly. Resident 3 was unemployed. Resident 4 was home and was NOT friendly, so I skipped to the last. As expected, resident 5 was yet another janitor and the moment I looked at their work ID (linking their job to their name) the game immediately filled them in as the perp -despite having just 9% profile completion. So it seems that if you can identify every citizen matching the profile by name, your “detective’s intuition” will kick in and just magically divine the right answer for you. It seems consistent too. Later I had to arrest a kitchen hand with depression and a size 8 shoe (great evidence…) but finding and naming all 7 kitchen hands running around my city seemed to do the trick. TLDR: If you’re given a profile that matches multiple suspects, but the perp is still an “unknown citizen” on the case board, there’s at least one other match left to find.
This is definitely it, I always thought the game will fill it out for you when you found the correct fella cus it did for me multiple times so i was confused to why Insym was so fixated on the 2 when the original data was not updated
For the Poisoning murders, you need to search for a syringe (I believe it'll spawn at the crime scene like the business card, toy car, etc) and tag *that* as the weapon. I think the game treats Poison as ammo and the syringe as the weapon.
Unfortunately, it doesn't always spawn at the crime scene. Sometimes it spawns on the killer or in the killer's appartement like other weapons. That can make it really hard if the killer has a medical condition or something similar that leads to the game spawning multiple syringes at their home. I also had some really weird spawning positions with other stuff already, like spawning the crumpled paper a killer was supposed to leave at the crime scene on the partner of the victim and such. Or maybe he just picked it up, anyway it was one hell of a search to find that 😅
@@manug2508 I had a feeling it didn't always spawn at the crime scene, but the one time I found it was when it was at the crime scene lol. 50:45 Love that moment after investigating and clearing so many people, you take just one moment to casually check for fingerprints on the other photos and you find the type Z fingerprints you been looking for the whole time. The search for the killer is always so fun in this game.
Side jobs with unknown citizens will definitely update the name when you collect info about them. There is an annoying bug where the previous "unknown citizen" entry and a newly pinned identified entry can be on the board at the same time, and you have to toggle the pins to resolve it. But that was not the situation with the final photo case in this vid. They just weren't the target. I really enjoy your Shadows of Doubt content. I bought the game and finished it twice because of you. The second time was on a medium map with extreme difficulty and a self-imposed "no diamonds" rule. I didn't know you could buy sync upgrades, so I stole a lot of those. I'll probably beat it at least once every time the dev does an update.
1:06:00 the 5410000 is to find out last caller, not last called number. It's one way only and it's "who called this number", not "what number were called from here". For that you would need to go to the basement
34:40 Killers who use melee weapons (knives, hammers, etc.) or that otherwise get blood on themselves will try to get home immediately to shower. I’ve caught two killers with blood on their clothes trying to go home.
The officer you saw in the surveillance room actually works there along with the janitor. The employee details are in one of the drawers so you check their schedule :) For the poison case, the syringe needs to be submitted as the murder weapon. It sometimes gets dropped near the body. I found one dropped two shops down from the body by accident once.
10:30 I believe this is a flat cap style hat. Sometimes when NPCs are knocked out, or in this case taken out, their hat flies off and it has strange collisions.
I discovered your channel recently looking for Shadows of Doubt gameplay, and I'm not sure how to phrase this and mean it in the most positive way, but after watching one of your videos I was surprised how big of a channel you had because I could definitely feel the coziness of a more low-key one. Keep up the good work I'm enjoying this content!
This game is just so breathtaking both environmentally and gameplay wise, especially since its all pixels! The gameplay especially just has such a great respect for replay-ability and for me at least, I never seem to get bored after playing 4 hours straight, I'm just too busy irl to play more haha. Game isn't even fully out yet and its just so lively and honestly feels like a full game already but the fact it isn't makes it so much better!
Yeah I’ve played almost 70 hours now!! Although it’s starting to get a bit easy. But I’ve noticed it’s mainly due to the fact you start to learn a lot of the residents names so I just start a new world once that starts to happen. Unfortunately my new laptop stoped working so I have to play it on my old laptop and I have to put the graphics and the map size on the lowest, otherwise it’s too laggy to play😢 so I’m only playing on a small map, playing in a medium or large map might make a difference in that regards
@@jessschwarze8126 would be cool if there was a feature for higher difficulties where if you don't get new information for people, overtime you will slowly forget people's info and then you'll have to require them.
@@austinin yeah that’s a good idea, I really wish they gave an option to play different levels of difficulty. Or they could make information harder to come by, like sometimes they wouldn’t have their work contract at home and it’s rare to find their passwords etc. There’s so many things they could do with this game it’s really exciting! I loveeee it and btw I realised I only played 70hours in the last two weeks I’ve played like 330 hours of the game so far 😂😂 they need more more variety in murder and side cases asap!
51:05 -- This really just highlights the importance of luck/serendipity in solving cases especially in RL. Either you find the string of clues that leads to the perpetrator or get that 1 in a 1000000 chance happening that will help you solve it.
@@patfreI'm pretty sure he knows about the legal PC, he has done multiple play throughs and he has used the legal PC in recorded plays before. I think his logic is that this info amount is op and shouldn't be legally available, so he always defaults to using the security room PC
I'm pretty sure in the first episode of this series he said they changed it so only that pc in the private room has the gov database on it, not the one outside of that room, but I might be mistaken or he could've fibbed lol.
Two good tips I learned today: - Bloodhound Trackers, when planted on a wall, can see VERY far forward - Flash Grenades will shut down all Cameras and Scout Lasers that the grenade has a light of sight to, even if they are not aiming directly at it; this seems to disable them for as long as a security breaker
The head was amazing XD. I absolutely adore this game I've had so many interesting cases in my own game from double homicides at the same time to an almost perfect killer, sniping people from a rooftop in a corner with no cameras or witnesses and no prints until the 4th victim. Was an enforcer too, so kinda made sense why they were so hard to find (even if it was just a bug)
1:19 I actually got the fall damage sync disk pretty early on. Never used it, really, until I got stuck in a bugged out office cubicle with no entry or exit. I was pretty much stuck, but there was a window. So I just jumped. I had last saved hours ago, so that one was a lifesaver.

I absolutely love that this game is back, one of my favorite games of all time. You inspired me to get this game when you first started this series, and let me tell you I didn’t regret it. Please continue this series, keep it up! ❤❤
This is my favourite series. Shadows of Doubt has to be one of the best games I've ever played, and I really enjoy seeing different perspectives and see how others go about solving a case. I'm very pleased you enjoy this game so much as well.
i had a case where a sniper on the roof above the fathoms building first floor killed someone on the street. i followed footprints from the roof corner around to the entrance to someone's apartment and she matched a witness's description, and worked as a janitor in the building where the victim lived. but i didnt find a murder weapon anywhere on her, her apartment, or her office. i decided to put a bloodhound tracker on my suspect while i kept investigating, and while i stood on the street trying to come up with more leads, i heard gunshots. the citizens around me started freaking out and i was looking around like crazy trying to find the shooter. i watched a citizen i had just spoken to on the street get sniped in the head. i ran up the fire escape/scaffolding thing but by the time i got there the killer was gone, and my suspect hadn't left her apartment the whole time. i exhausted every lead i could think of and then accidentally corrupted my city data by quitting the game before it had finished saving. my previous save was like two days earlier so i gave up. never got closure on that case but it was probably the hardest murder ive ever seen
Finally catching up on your Shadows of Doubt vids after getting home from a business trip and I am laughing!! Love these vids...It cracks me up that you keep using the gov't computer INSIDE the secure area when the one that is in the outer office (between the main lobby and the internal secure office) has the same access and you can use it without issue! :D
Just for any new players, a couple obscure tips: 1. In a poison murder, the "weapon" isn't poison, it's a syringe. Just like ammo isn't the weapon, it's the gun. 2. In a sniper killing, the fingerprint on the gun is evidence that they were connected. 3. If an aquire case asks you to destroy a suitcase, it's a bomb. If they ask you to stash it, it is not. No thanks, necessary. I do take bribes though. 👇🥸
1:23 “The atmosphere here is incredible, you’re gonna see it as soon as we go outside” Goes outside & immediately gets robbed lol 1:20:17 “Candlestick in the living room” 😏🤨 Cluedo though
Love this game but the bug of people walking off into the sky is kinda frustrating but funny at the same time. They be like “I must go, my people need me”
@Insym For the Poison murder weapon, you need to identify what the victim took that killed them (could be food, could be a syringe that was injected into them, etc.). Finding a vial of poison on the supposed killer is not enough to consider it the murder weapon. Weird, I know but I think the issue is the game needs something to link to the crime scene and the vial of poison for some reason doesn't attach itself to the crime scene the same way a weapon does.
I've been in love with this game since I saw you upload the first video of the game. Today I just had a murder case where a murder happened just around the corner of a street and the first place I checked was their home. The person was being stalked by a female, large build, average height with long blonde hair hair. Course I didn't get it all at once but slowly I was thinking "this sounds an awful lot like the victim's partner" I notice a newspaper and pick it up to find the murderer called the "Red Gum Reaper" and I noticed the Red Gum banner in their apartment and immediately arrest the victim's partner and they admitted to the murder. Definitely one of my most interesting and quick cases I've ever had. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this case if possible.
i just got this game 3 days ago since you started this new series. its a great game...love the series so far! (though theres quite a few bugs that needs ironed out)
random few tips i've found to be useful that you may not know: For vandalism missions a door wedge is crazy good. wait for the home owner to go to a secluded room and lock them in there. this trick works in alot of scenario though If someone at work is annoying you, you can have them chase you out until they are out of breath then you sprint up back to work and close the security blast door thing. it'll be awhile till they'll see you again. You can use codebreakers on pc's. great for getting admin on security systems but also great for not wasting time if they never wrote down their code anywhere convenient.
I'd love a separate system for the stolen goods, like the diamonds. They could have an ascribed number not allowing you to sell them in regular pawn shops, and then you'd have to do missions or pay tribute to black market people to get rid of/change these numbers? Or perhaps acquire some special sync disk to be able to do so yourself? Generally, a mechanic for that would be cool!
Hey insym! Ive been a huge fan of your channel ever since phasmo! Idk if you remember me as CrypticWolf but i helped you out when you didnt even know how to use the spirit box!! Its so nice to see how far youve grown, keep up the work my favorite streamer/ytber!❤
I love this game. I feel you with the business cases, recently I've been playing with a restriction (for murder cases) of fingerprint scanner banned and no reading the ritual murder paper and no gov. database to make it a slower paced experience.
I've been binge watching you play this game! I play this game too and I love how you think to figure it out! I currently have a case that I'm stuck on and I wish I send it to you hahah
Gotta like how everyone just walks around you when you are being robbed, but if you so much as hold a set of handcuffs out to arrest someone, they all immediately try to kill you......
13:55 I’ve seen these papers highlight red too. My guess is that it highlights because it’s connectable evidence (things like names, addresses, etc. highlight too) but clicking on it does nothing because it isn’t associated with anything. It provides evidence of their salary.
I started playing this game a few days ago and was having the same issue as you with the cop hearing the pc in the city hall, so i figured out that if you can get into the pc in the adjacent room where you aren't trespassing, it still has access to the government database
You can make new connections for every person collecting all info on them and then check it in the 'connection' chart. For instance, you can collect info about their hobbies and illnesses (chess/pills, etc in their house) and then use this information to solve hard cases with not enough info
After watching you play Shadows of Doubt, I've put it on my list to try. In the meantime, I've been looking up more videos. Out of everyone's play throughs I've watched, you're one of the very few people I've seen that knows what they're doing. Think I should just stick to your videos.
city-hall outside computer(the computer right outside of the room you usually use to do the search) can also check citizen database, and it not consider trespassing
Hi Insym, I love your content, and even though you probably have a lot of comments about it, I wanted to tell you that you can dial a phone number by clicking on it either in a note or address book, etc. Hope this helps! :)
I like the look of this game, but it is one of those that would give me anxiety to play, the organizing of notes would be a bit too much like real life's difficulty for me to do lol. Glad to see you play it though, and kudos to your intelligence evident while playing Insym
Insym, you can click number in adress book while holding telephone, and you'll deal this number automatically =) Just FYI =) And thanks for great videos =)
1:55:23 there should be an option to take the money and then call them so you trick them into giving you a sync disc for an empty briefcase. and if you do it that way they like send hitmen after you or something
I'd love if you could put all your old archived case files into your apartment file storage so you could go back to them without keeping them open!!! This game is already great has so much potential for future features that I cant wait to see!!
Man... all I can think about, is having this game having a multiplayer function at some point. Like, you get to play the murderer, and either you get a kill order to perform, kill however you want, and try to not leave behind evidence, or you can just murder whomever - but you can't hurt the detective in any way - cause that would be OP. Lol
Ive been playing this game with my sister and we had a similar case to the first murder. Toy car at scene, only finger print, not any of co workers or contacts. There was nothing on CCTV anywhere too. We looked at the weapons ledger and it was no one from there and we thought we had nothing and it was only a matter of time before the next murder. We ended up finding the black market and the ledger had a person buy bullets starting with the letter E (no other initials). We literally looked through the whole city database for people with E names and found them, luckily arresting them before another murder.

Insym has now become my comfort. Man see insym video, man click, man happy.
51:05 -- This really just highlights the importance of luck/serendipity in solving cases especially in RL. Either you find the string of clues that leads to the perpetrator or get that 1 in a 1000000 chance happening that will help you solve it.
42:33 the computer in the room before this also has the gov database and your allowed to be there!
Yea but that's easy difficulty type shit, with the kinda run he's doin I don't think he wants to use that
@@expertnuggetNobody goes into the security room so it doesn’t change anything
@@expertnugget I know that but when he first looked for it in an episode it was just more that he doesn’t seam to even know you can
@@patfreI'm pretty sure he knows about the legal PC, he has done multiple play throughs and he has used the legal PC in recorded plays before.
Two good tips I learned today:
- Bloodhound Trackers, when planted on a wall, can see VERY far forward
- Flash Grenades will shut down all Cameras and Scout Lasers that the grenade has a light of sight to, even if they are not aiming directly at it; this seems to disable them for as long as a security breaker
I was literally just thinking it was time for a new insym shadows of doubt episode, and I was right!
1:19 I actually got the fall damage sync disk pretty early on. Never used it, really, until I got stuck in a bugged out office cubicle with no entry or exit. I was pretty much stuck, but there was a window. So I just jumped. I had last saved hours ago, so that one was a lifesaver.

Naaah.
I don't like games as this.
Lethal Company, Phasmophobia etc.
Are long games and quickly become boring!
I tremendously loved Buckshot Roulette though and can NOT wait for the multilayer update!
And Insym go against The Psycho!

Been loving this series so far
Finally catching up on your Shadows of Doubt vids after getting home from a business trip and I am laughing!! Love these vids...It cracks me up that you keep using the gov't computer INSIDE the secure area when the one that is in the outer office (between the main lobby and the internal secure office) has the same access and you can use it without issue! :D
Shadows of doubt = chefs kiss 🥰
Just for any new players, a couple obscure tips:
👇🥸
new long and cool episode , i got my popcorn , lesssgooo
I've been addicted to this game for 2 straight days, and have been binge watching your videos trying to get tips hahahaha so i hope you do more!
1:28:00 I think the Yellow stuff was vomit, and the red was blood obviously. They puked from the poison.
1:23
“The atmosphere here is incredible, you’re gonna see it as soon as we go outside”
Goes outside & immediately gets robbed lol
1:20:17
“Candlestick in the living room” 😏🤨
Cluedo though
Love this game but the bug of people walking off into the sky is kinda frustrating but funny at the same time. They be like “I must go, my people need me”
I finally stopped procrastinating and did my work the moment I saw this upload cus I knew this would be a long treat, tysm Insym!
Love this series! Absolutely one of the most unique detective games I’ve seen
Insym: "were not going to beat up people in this playthrough."
Ten seconds later, goes on a killing spree.
I've been reading/listening to a lot of criminal podcasts recently. This game is like a new level of discovering mystery crimes.
That last photograph case is amazing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
i just got this game 3 days ago since you started this new series. its a great game...love the series so far! (though theres quite a few bugs that needs ironed out)
random few tips i've found to be useful that you may not know:
For vandalism missions a door wedge is crazy good. wait for the home owner to go to a secluded room and lock them in there. this trick works in alot of scenario though
If someone at work is annoying you, you can have them chase you out until they are out of breath then you sprint up back to work and close the security blast door thing. it'll be awhile till they'll see you again.
Every Shadow of doubt ep of yours is like a sip of the richest vine! Can’t wait for the next one thank you!!❤❤❤
Hey insym! Ive been a huge fan of your channel ever since phasmo! Idk if you remember me as CrypticWolf but i helped you out when you didnt even know how to use the spirit box!! Its so nice to see how far youve grown, keep up the work my favorite streamer/ytber!❤
As always amazing content Insym! I've been enjoying watching you play this game back!~
I love this game. I feel you with the business cases, recently I've been playing with a restriction (for murder cases) of fingerprint scanner banned and no reading the ritual murder paper and no gov. database to make it a slower paced experience.
just got around to watching this one, I really like your videos. thanks for brightening my days when they feel down I appreciate you. :]
There is a safe computer on the 2nd floor of City Hall. You can gather information about citizens without being bothered by cops
I've been binge watching you play this game! I play this game too and I love how you think to figure it out! I currently have a case that I'm stuck on and I wish I send it to you hahah
the city hall receptionist gave almost the correct information at 28:00 when they said they saw someone at shuscter towers! just one room off
Gotta like how everyone just walks around you when you are being robbed, but if you so much as hold a set of handcuffs out to arrest someone, they all immediately try to kill you......
Oh my goodness yesss I was waiting for more of this! Can’t wait to watch thank you so much for the amazing content, keep it coming! ☺️👍🏻
Let's gooo more Shadows of Doubt content!
13:55 I’ve seen these papers highlight red too. My guess is that it highlights because it’s connectable evidence (things like names, addresses, etc. highlight too) but clicking on it does nothing because it isn’t associated with anything. It provides evidence of their salary.
By not associated, I mean there isn’t a “salary” object
Loving the shadows of doubt series!
Glad I’m not the only person who uses the phrase ‘tickles my brain’
Insym: buys door wedge to keep doors closed
Also Insym: never uses door wedge
I've been looking forward to this all weekend!!
I love that you see the Beauty sync disc and then decide to take a vandalism case 🤣🤣
I love this game so much! It has become one of my late night comfy games!
Im so glad your back on SoD ❤ love the playthru, i need mooore 😅
I love shadows of doubt
Insym always brings a smile to my face :D
The letter Z somehow has been coming up way too often this episode
At 43:00, you can use the computer in the room just before entering the office, you are allowed to be there and you can also use the gov data base app
Picked the game up myself, thank you Insym
Thank you for another video!!!! I love this series
dude i love these series sm
city-hall outside computer(the computer right outside of the room you usually use to do the search) can also check citizen database, and it not consider trespassing
I remember Hinata from previous murder case too cause she was in the victim's address book.
I hope the devs listen to insym and watch his videos because hearing hsi ideas for future updates I think could do a lot for the game!
Hi Insym, I love your content, and even though you probably have a lot of comments about it, I wanted to tell you that you can dial a phone number by clicking on it either in a note or address book, etc. Hope this helps! :)
Isnym keep up the good work and I would love to see more shadows of doubt a little more often please.
Thank you for this series! Love this game!
1:23:28 LMAO that was insane!!!
I like the look of this game, but it is one of those that would give me anxiety to play, the organizing of notes would be a bit too much like real life's difficulty for me to do lol. Glad to see you play it though, and kudos to your intelligence evident while playing Insym
such an amazing game - bought it yesterday and instantly sank 8 hours into it
MY MOST FAVORITE SERIES 👹👹👹
Insym, you can click number in adress book while holding telephone, and you'll deal this number automatically =) Just FYI =) And thanks for great videos =)
Gosh I love watching this game ! Keep em coming !!!!
Insym is the reason why I got shadows of doubt
I had a dog hair on my screen that made it look like Insym had librarian glasses and it was too funny to take the hair off
I absolutely love seeing this gameplay
So happy to see the series
1:55:23 there should be an option to take the money and then call them so you trick them into giving you a sync disc for an empty briefcase.
and if you do it that way they like send hitmen after you or something
I'd love if you could put all your old archived case files into your apartment file storage so you could go back to them without keeping them open!!! This game is already great has so much potential for future features that I cant wait to see!!
22:47.. Very strange, he sent that email to himself!
Love this game, super gun to watch! Leaving my incentive comment, hope you'll keep playing it.
Man... all I can think about, is having this game having a multiplayer function at some point. Like, you get to play the murderer, and either you get a kill order to perform, kill however you want, and try to not leave behind evidence, or you can just murder whomever - but you can't hurt the detective in any way - cause that would be OP. Lol
Woah! A murderer couple is crazy!!! Also I’ve never seen my name in a game before! Definitely thinking about trying this one out.
I've been waiting for this game! thank you insym 🤩
