Dr. Shirsavar, I noticed at 7:00 that the coupled inductor dots are facing Vs and GND, but I believe it would be best on the actual PCB to have the dots connecting to the Switch (SW) side. That is because the dot on each of the two inductors indicates where the wire starts to be rolled on the core. The dot point is BELOW the rest of the windings and is therefore is shielded by them. In a SEPIC or other switch mode design, the SW node is your noise source. Hence, it would be best practice to design your SEPIC PCB with the shielded dots pointing toward your noisy SW node (which in the case of your video is either end of capacitor Cs).
very good point - the dot "often" means the start of the innermost layer so it is good layout practice is to make sure that that the innermost winding is tied to the switch node. Thank you
I hope I'll continue to bring switch mode topologies topics to this channel, your explanation is very clear and I enjoy your videos ...keep doing them!!!
Thank you for sharing this video MR. Ali , I tired to download an evaluation copy , but after entering my email & hit continue nothing happen, is there is any further steps required ?
