We used to sing this at the West End Mt Carmel MBC in St Louis, Sister Bernice Robertson could sing that lead with fervent anointing!!! The #2 Choir was on point. We miss this kind of singing in our churches today! Just A Closer Walk With Thee!
Doris Sykes live is an experience one never forgets. I saw her in 77,78,79 87 and each time she "tore the church up". I know becausw-e a couple of times I was out also.
Thanks for sharing...I remember these songs from years gone by..It is heartwarming to know I can hear them again in this high-tech society we are living in today...PTL!!!!
DaHeir08 I remember Ms Novella as a child growing up in the Church she was also a neighbor of ours and my mom would sometimes give her a ride home from Church! She was an extremely FUNNY lady and I’ll never forget her!!!
This album is a classic in our household!

I remember this lady on the old Chicago Community Choir albums with Jessy Dixon. She was THE soprano always on top!!!
