Charles Nicks Jr. and The St James Choir "I Really Love The Lord" Soloist: Rene Thomas, Orthea Barnes & Charles H. Nicks Jr. Charles H. Nicks Jr. July 18, 1941 - July 28, 1988 Written: Jimmy Dowell
I'm a student of the best gospel choir era...'85 to early 90's...this was brought to us by our guest clinician, Rosemary Griffin. Weeping because I still love Him! All the more in 2024...🙌🏽✝️💜🕊🎶🎵😭😭🤗🤗
This was my first song I learned how to play on the keyboard. I was in 6th grade and only heard this on the radio. I never knew the artist. I'm 47 and I just stumbled across this video and it brought me to tears. God bless you!
@hightopfad God bless you. I'm praying for you right as i type this. May God reignite your gifts and make all the room necessary to carry you to your next level in Him.🙏🏻
I first heard this beautiful song on my way to college in 1987. Years later when I gave my life to the LORD, my church home sung this very song after I was baptized in 2001! Tears flowed my eyes. I really Love the Lord ❤❤❤
This was the first song I shouted on and actually felt the "Vibration of the Holy Sprit!" Satan tried to settle in with the heaviness of "doubt" for 3 days, until someone told me to rebuke him, and I actually felt the heaviness lift immediately! when I rebuked that demon verbally!🙏🏿💥🙏🏿 ( @ 1987...just past young adult...😘🙌🏿)
If ever there was a definition of VINTAGE Gospel music Detroit style this song would fit the bill under the description.... God bless you Gospel Nostalgia and might I say to you " Please " keep up the good work.
Classic Detroit Gospel RIP Rev Charles Nicks Jr and Dr Jimmy Dowell and Mrs Orthera Barnes ….Has anybody ever heard the late Reverend James Moore sing this? He really claimed it as his own lol
Out of all the channels I've subscribed to on TH-cam - THIS has got to be my favourite. Thank you @Gospel Nostalgia.... you have NO idea how much this music means to me. Thank you and God bless you! From the UK 🇬🇧
The Voice of the Temple Cathedral Choir, with Sis. Vernell Brown as soloist, sang this back in the day at the Greater Refuge Temple; Bishop W.L. Bonner was our pastor.
My younger brother and I used to visit Greater Refuge Temple. We would travel from upstate ny and my little brother would sing on his Sunday night radio broadcast 😀. What a time, what a time!
Sir you are Awesome. But this song just wrecked me with the ugly cry. Remembering when the first time I heard this song the day season things that happened then. What a time. Thank you for posting. May God keep on making a way.....Hint tell me the rest of the words of this song. I know you know.

Thanks for posting this. I’m from Detroit and I remember this concert from when I was a young boy preacher.
I didn't know Jimmy wrote that. Such a profound, timeless song!

I can second your statement. For me its 1985 to 1995. Some of the best times with Choral music ministry.
They needs to go back singing these songs

Who is playing the organ on this song?
Do you have “you can’t hurry God” from the St. James Choir?
