    this was a tall order for the for being the first time chopping a large tree with an axe. good workout though...

      If I remember correctly it was just shy of 45 minutes total. It was a tough piece of wood haha

    Notch on the front was too shallow and too high. Back notch was too low, that’s the reason the tree took so long. I just ordered the jersey axe from Henry Epstein in Kansas City excited for it to arrive!

    I would suggest sharpening it first!
    Plus that is more axe than you can swing!
    Plus Ash is like a brick, bit profile is all wrong!!

    More time sharpening means less time chopping! And work on your grip a little. You tell the axe where to go, not the other way around. The key is to never give up. You've got that part nailed. It's a good thing axe work is fun, right?
